Backround:

Long ago, before the rune wars, but long after the two warring clans of the eldest poems, during the time when the great and strong nations of today were much smaller and less powerful. Demacia faced the greatest threat they have ever faced, the Void-Worm Baron Nashor the Terrible.

For the first time in many a millennia, the ancient worm sought new territory, digging new tunnels, he found himself in the relatively new Demacian-owned-land. He created havoc, crushing, acidifying, and devouring all that he saw, no one dared to even get within hearing range of the beast. Everyone fled to the west, to the sea, all except Xandrid Lightshield and his sect of the once proud Demacian army.

Xandrid Lightshield, one of the first of his lineage, was just a young man 19 years before the Worm's coming. He was a devout follower of the Demacian religion and was a pastor for one of the lesser churches. When his father died in battle far to the east in the war with a rivaling city-state, Xandrid became a Paladin under the church, a warrior that channels a holy blessing through their strikes. Xandrid brought his own divine judgement upon his enemies, striking fear into the hearts of the eastmen.

It is said that his sword, Solbeir, was blessed by the High Apostle Farold, the leader of the Demacian Church at the time, so that it would never break and that it would be a divine instrument of the power of the church. His shield is said to have been an ancient heirloom of Paladins that the church decrees will have a great destiny.

During a major military campaign against the now organizated easterners, Xandrid and his forces came across a demon that augmenter the strength and will of the opposition. It towered over the heads of men, it's skin as pale as the snowof the fjords to the north, and large bat-like wings gave it some mobility in the air. An enormous warhammer that rivaled its own size shattered the skulls and wills of his men.

The battle that claimed him victory against the demon lasted weeks, but Xandrid cut his enemies' hammer in two during their fateful duel, which drained the foul beast of it's life force before it fell to the ground and smote the land in its ruin. Xandrid had done the impossible, he had killed something bigger than man, something bigger than Valoran itself.

But even then, all seemed lost before the worm, Xandrid himself doubted his ability to slay the beast, going against all odds he readied his troops. They would die with their General and he would die with them if it came to that. Xandrid led the assault on his steed and charged straight towards the Baron of the serpentine.

Nashor seemed to be a tsunami of earth, acid, and teeth, utterly destroying many of Xandrid’s legion. It was then when Solbeir was broken by the beast's tail that Xandrid then knew that Baron Nashor was not of this world, and that it was his duty alone to save his people. He took what remained of his sword, just a hilt and a mere fraction of the once long and sharp blade, and leapt at the beast’s head as it rose to meet him. Raising his blade skyward he plunged it straight into the beast's prominent eye, causing it to writhe in agony and sink back into the depths of the world, taking Xandrid with him.

All that remained of Xandrid was the hilt of his sword, thrown far to the side after he removed it from Baron Nashor's foul head, and a few fragments of his blade. His legacy lives on in poems, songs, statues, and in the blood of the current rulers of the now thriving Demacia. The remains of Solbeir are hidden beneath the throne of Demacia, waiting to be reforged when Demacia meets its direst plight. Xandrid's legacy lives on in other places as well, all accounts of appearances of Baron Nashor after that fateful day state that he has a large scar where Xandrid took his eye.

"Xandrid Lightshield, the greatest hero Demacia ever had. He faced our homeland's foes for the majority of his lifetime and at his end saved us all from the wrath of a god." - The inscription written on the plaque on Xandrid's statue in the center of Demacia's capital, written by High Apostle Farold.

So he's an enemy of Noxus and the Void. Oh boy. His passive seems a bit underpowered..... I like the rest of his kit though :)

I like the idea with his passive and ultimate synergy. However I was wondering about his w and e abilities. Usually when a champion has abilities that deal with units usually they have units of their own in which helps them in any circumstance. Something that I think could be interesting is that for each champion or allied champion that he is around he gets increased damage reduction and increased damage like Yoricks passive but with champions. It would increase per level up to 5% Let me know what you think.
