Nevron Champion Concept
Nevron: The Proud Marionette
Lore Nevron is a merchant living in Demacia. He is known by all who live there for being one of the most caring and compassionate people (or puppets), in all of Runeterra. He gives many of his crops to the homeless of the city and sells only enough to get by himself. Although his prices are cheap, he is loved by so many in the city that many people will pay much more than his crops are worth because of his always positive and encouraging attitude.
Much of Nevron's past is a blur, even to him. What we do know is that Nevron was not always a Marionette. It is rumored that long ago his father, also a merchant, was murdered by shaco for what was in his pocket and that it was Shaco who turned the young boy into a puppet, forcing him to forever be bound by strings. How Nevron escaped with his life is a mystery but he has since decided to bring joy to as much of Runeterra as he can to try to counteract the hate that Shaco has brought him and the rest of the world.
Concept Nevron is a Support who trives at disrupting the enemy team while also being good at peeling for his carries. Nevron's strengths lie during the team fight phase. By Combining a charged Cross Beam, and the active from Strung Up, Nevron can put himself in the perfect position to initiate a team fight with a multi-man stun. Although he is a fairly squishy champion, the shield he gets from his ultimate and the escape route that a pre-placed Outpost can give is enough to keep him safe even when initiating into a full enemy team. After Nevron enters the fight he can use Bar It to shut down any major spells from being used by the enemy team while his team pours on the damage. This will cause the enemy to to either attempt to fight without their ultimate, leave the area of Bar It, or focus down Nevron’s rather large shield, all of which buy time for his team. After his ult has ended he can use Outpost to position himself back by his carries where he can then use the knock back from Cross Beam to help peel for his carries.
With initiation, an AOE stun, a reliable escape and the ability to single handedly shut down ultimate reliant team comps, Nevron might seem a bit overpowered. Nevron’s true weaknesses lie in the laning phase. Nevron is a squishy melee support who does not provide sustain and can therefore be very vulnerable to poke in lane. Although Outpost can make sure he is almost under no chance of being killed by a gank, unless he is cc locked or out of mana, he still can’t apply much pressure either. As much as he can shut down team comps that are heavily reliant on their ultimates, he can also be countered by poke supports or AD’s like Karma or Caitlyn.
Abilities Passive - Soft on the Inside Upon taking fatal damage Nevron burst open dispercing pieces of fluff in every direction. Enemies hit by the flying fluff are stunned for 1.5 seconds while enemies who step on a piece are slowed by 50% for 1.5 seconds. (My thoughts behind this ability were that if he were to initiate and be quickly CCed and bursted out before his team could follow up, his fluff could still help stun and or slow multiple people on the enemy team long enough for his team to continue the initiation.)
Q - Cross Beam Nevron throws a crossbar out in a target direction that deals magic damage and knocks back the first enemy hit before returning to him. This ability can be charged up to knock back the enemy further but slows his move speed while charging. This also applies the W passive to the enemy hit. If the enemy hit is a champion, this can be activated again to swing the crossbar in a circle around him dealing magic damage again and stunning enemies hit for 1 second. (This ability in my mind would be on a fairly low cooldown (maybe around 8-10 seconds) since his other two abilities won't be really spammed in lane. This also is his main form of cc when it comes to peeling for caries. Ranges could be messed with and I would think that the AOE stun wouldn't be very large (maybe comparable to the range of darius's spin ability). Also this ability could be tweaked easily by reducing the window that you can activate the second part of the ability after the first.)
W - Strung Up (Passive) - The First auto attack to an enemy champion deals bonus magic damage and attaches a string for 5/6/7/8/9 seconds or until the enemy moves out of range. (Active) - Nevron pulls himself to a target enemy attached by a string and deals true damage on impact. After he pulls himself to the enemy, the string is detached and a string cannot be reattached for 5 seconds. (This ability allows for Nevron to stick to priority targets in team fights following his initiation, as well as keeping him rather slippery as he can attach multiple strings at once and quickly bounce around to different champions.I see it mostly being used on the ultimate reliant champions while his ult is running to keep them slowed and unable to ult.)
E - Outpost Nevron jumps a short distance and slams a crossbar into the ground that dealing magic damage. The crossbar stays in place giving vision until he leaves the area or the cross is destroyed. Nevron can activate this ability again to be pulled back to the crossbar after a 1 second delay. The second use of this ability will also remove the crossbar. The crossbar can be destroyed with 5 attacks. (The idea behind this ability is that it is both a short wall jump and a safety net in lane. A smart Nevron player will know when and where to place his post while setting up for fights around objectives. Also this ability should be on a very long cooldown after the second part is used and the mana cost should be high. This means during the lane phase a Nevron who spams his Q to much may not have the mana to pull himself to safety when a gank comes. Also since he can initiate fights from a fairly long distance, it could be possible for him to initiate to far away from his outpost (which destroys the post since he left the area) and therefor would be stranded in the enemy team with no escape. There is a fairly high learning curve with this ability and a player who has practiced Nevron many games will be able to use it much more effectively.)
R - Bar It Nevron gains a magical shield that emits waves of energy around him. Enemies within the area are unable to cast their ultimate ability and are slowed by 25%/35%/50%. The spell lasts for 15 seconds or until the shield is broken. (This is the big-time ability. This ability can make or break a team fight. It is also important to note that this ability makes Nevron a situational pick. He could be extremely useful against a Yasuo, Orianna, Malphite team comp for example by not allowing for any of them to use their fight winning ultimates at the right times. On the other hand picking Nevron into a comp that isn't very reliant on their ultimates could make him somewhat useless. I was thinking the range of this ability would be pretty large so that he could keep many people controlled at once forcing the enemy team to focus down his shield if they want to use their ults.)
My Thoughts I really enjoy creating champion concepts and when I thought of an ult that silenced other players ultimates I knew I had to build a champ around it. I think as far as this champ goes it is a pretty cool concept that probably needs tweaking. Im not that good at understanding damages and scaling numbers yet so I did not add them. Many of his abilities are unique and there has yet to be a champion quite like him. Also I am way more creative when it comes to conceptual design as opposed to things like what his clothes should look like so don't laugh at my drawing haha. Any feedback from the LOL community or from Riot would be much appreciated as I am constantly coming up with new champ ideas.
Thanks everyone!
