[Champion Concept] Jack, The Faceless One
Jack, The Faceless One Noxus Assassin/Fighter
To be honest, I thought of his Ult first, then the rest of the character filled in around it. He is not a part of my Ironclad series, (they are still in the works, because, to be honest, without a deadline my time management is horrible. I start one then stop and start another. It’s confusing, even to me) because it wouldn’t really be an original Champion if it’s from a preexisting series now would it?
-Lore: Little is known about the Faceless One and why he serves Noxus, but there is much theory. Some say he is a master spy, and must allow no one to see his face. Others say he is a disfigured madman. Others even whisper, behind locked doors, that he’s one of the Black Rose.
What is ‘known’ is sketchy at best. If it is to be believed, he is responsible for some of the most controversial incidents in League history. But who could believe that he was the Demacian soldier whose confession turned the Kalamanda Incident on its head? That he almost succeeded in discrediting the House Laurent? Or that he even once had a penchant for assuming the face of a pirate with red eyes?
Two things are certain though, his ability to take the identity of others is uncanny and unmatched, even by Le Blanc, which adds some credulity to the later theory of his origins. And that he is borderline psychotic, literally taking his victims’ faces in some instances. Woe to those that cross his path, although you won’t know it until you’re being killed by yourself. “Nice face. I think I’ll take It.” -Jack, The Faceless One
Unit description: Jack’s character model is similar to Shaco in height and build, but has a smooth, faceless mask and is largely unassuming; and, much like ADC Soraka, that’s where he gets you. His body a shiny, off-white body-suit with a black, featureless mask for a face. He also walks with a skip in his step. His voice is a raspy whisper with an edge, but he is largely quiet.
+Kit: Jack attacks with a knife and his hand. His hand has tiny barbs on it that give extra grip. Think Spider-Man but for violence instead of wall climbing. Normally attacks with knife, critically strikes with his hand.
=Passive: Skinwalker- Critical strikes blind targets for 1 seconds and heal Jack for 25% damage dealt. Additionally, every 10 seconds his next basic attack gains +25% critical strike chance.
=Q: Throwing Dagger Jack throws a dagger, dealing damage. If it hits the target in the back, it slows it. Cost: 25 mana Cooldown: 6 seconds Range:950x50
Jack throws a skill-shot that that deals 80/90/100/110/120 (+45% AD). If it hits the target in the back, it slows it by 45% for 3 seconds.
=W: Smoke and Mirrors Jack throws a smoke bomb, blinding and reducing the vision of all champions in an area. If Jack is in the area, he becomes invisible. Cost: 70 mana Cooldown: 20 seconds. Cast Range: 750 Effect Range: 300
Jack throws a smoke bomb that lasts for 5 seconds. It reduces the vision of enemy champs by 75% for as long as they are in the area, it also blinds them for 5 seconds. If Jack is in the initial cast range, he becomes invisible for 4 seconds or until he attacks.
=E: Mortal Wounds Next 2 basic attacks deal stacking true damage over time. Cost: 60 mana Cooldown: 12 seconds. Range: Self
Jack’s next 2 basic attacks deal 10/13/17/20/25(+50% AP) true damage over 5 seconds.
=R: Face-Taker Jack marks an opposing Champion for 10 seconds. As the marked champion dies, Jack becomes the dead champion for 15 seconds with his current health. While the other champion, he has his abilities and passive switched out to that of the other champion’s abilities, passives, and stats, but his health cap will remain unchanged. If an ability is on cooldown when Jack replaces the other champion, it will not be refreshed and will remain on cooldown. Cost: 100/150/200 mana Cooldown: 110/100/90 seconds Range: 700
+Descriptions/explanations. E: Jack’s hands start glowing red. If a target gets both stacks, the target receives 20/26/34/40/50(+25% AP) over 5 seconds.
W: Jack lobs a white ball to the targeted area. When it hits, it bursts into black smoke. If Jack is in the area when cast, he instantly turns invisible.
Q: Jack throws a dagger, end-over-end. Moves about as fast as a Cleaver from Mundo.
R: Jack says, “Nice face,” when he marks the target. The ability mark is a pulsing white-and-red ‘X’ on the target. I’m just going to give an example of what will happen, over explaining it, to better show what happens. Example: If Jack ults a Leona and the Leona dies, Jack will become Leona for 15 seconds. Jack’s current and max health will remain the same, but will have the rest of his stats (damage, armor, movement speed, etc.) replaced with Leona’s unreduced stats. He will also have access to all of the abilities and non-item passives that Leona had available to her when she died. So if Leona didn’t use Solar Flare before dying, Jack can use it and the rest of her abilities against her team.
+Misc:
=Tactics: I’m honestly not sure where to put Jack. I initially planned him to be a jungler, but I think he could also fill the role of an AD mid well enough. His strength lies in his slipperiness and in picking off a source of cc or heavy damage before or just as the teamfight begins, that way he won’t have to worry about too many cooldowns being used or being too low on health to use them.
-During laning, remember your crits are also your sustain.
-Your mark on a low health target, may have enough threat to be a disengage tool.
-Word to the wise if you build damage, avoid ulting a champ that uses health as a resource, they may have the health to sustain it, but you probably won’t.
-Also, another rule of thumb, don’t ult a champion you aren’t prepared to play. If you can’t play your way out of a wet paper bag as
, don’t ult onto him.
-If you have absolutely no idea how to play
, to the point where you don’t even know what his spells are, don’t ult onto him. All you will probably end up doing is hurting your team in that you just about make it a 4.5 vs. 4 at best.
=Counterplay: -If you are about to go down and you have the mark on you, try to burn as many cooldowns as possible. A team that all of a sudden gets Solar Flare or Unleashed Power in the middle of a fight could very easily turn that fight. -Pick up a Guardian Angel, with luck it will absorb the mark, or at least buy you time for your team to arrive or react. -If one of your squishy damage-dealers gets marked, move to protect them, less they are turned on you.
=Synergy:
~
: Imagine what would happen if you both ulted the ADC or tank. Morde would get his ghost, and you would effectively become the third ADC, or have a 3-4 man tank line.
~
: Two invisible mad men running around, mixing Backstab with Daggers with Shivs on already blinded and visionless enemies? Talk about being caught out.
~
: The CC between the 2 of them, mixed with the true damage output, would make well-timed ganks nearly inescapable.
=Counters:
~
: The champ, herself is capable of throwing down enough CC to escape him and shut him out, and her passive could make you blow your ult for no return if she revives.
~
: His ult effectively counters yours as it can bring whomever you mark back to life, again giving you no return on it.
~
: She’s a support capable of locking you down and taking away your slipperiness, also, if you ult onto her, her passive may be enough to cut your time as her short.

-Click Responses: "Let's see some new faces." "Do Do, Do Do, Do-Do Dah Do Do." -Joke: “I can’t remember names very well, I’m more of a face person.” -Taunts: If there is an enemy champion in sight, he copies their voice and Taunt animation. If not, he says “They are going to be in for a treat,” and does a cutthroat gesture with his knife. -Dance: Jack will mimic a random champion’s dance. It may be Trundle’s; it may be Darius’, who knows! Laugh: Just a quick little "Heh." =Special Interactions: ~Swain- “I don’t know what Mistress sees in you.” ~Miss Fortune- His face becomes covered by a bandana and his eyes turn red as he says, “Look familiar, Sarah?” or “You’ve grown so much.” ~Fiora- Transforms into Fiora, and does the cut-throat gesture while saying, “Your father was more honorable than you think. Even in death.” ~Le Blanc- “I don’t have to hold back here, Mistress.” ~Jarvan IV- Jack transforms into a generic-looking soldier and says, “You know the best part? I lied.” ~Katarina- “Your father was a good man. But he was in the way.”
=Friends:
~
- As one of the best assassins in the Black Rose, he answers only to Le Blanc, who lets him have a long leash in return for loyalty. But with her, and the Order’s, escalating reinvolvement in the world and in the League, Le Blanc has shortened his leash to the mainland, and has called him out to join her on the Fields of Justice.
~
- As the Order-backed leader of Noxus, Swain is a ‘friend’ of Jack. Jack doesn’t agree with Le Blanc on backing Swain, and believes that she should be the leader of Noxus instead.
~
&
- 3 psychopaths walk into a bar…a lot of people died.
=Rivals
~
- Back when he had a longer leash on his contracts, Jack frequented contracts in the Bilgewater area, where he operated under the guise of a bandana’d pirate with red eyes. One day, his contracts lead to the Fortune household, where he ran into Sarah Fortune. From the shadows, a contract here, a hint on poorly guarded treasure there, he was watching and testing her. To what end, only he knows.
~
- Under orders from Le Blanc, Jack took the face of the anonymous Demacian soldier who turned the Kalamanda Incident on its head. He later replaced himself with the body of the man he killed, leading to even further controversy and, eventually, open conflict. But try as he might, Jarvan can find no proof that Jack even existed at the time.
~
- Under contract from a rival family to discredit the House Laurent, he took the place of Fiora’s father and was deliberately caught poisoning his opponent’s drink. After losing the duel with his ‘daughter’, he went into ‘exile.’ Meaning he threw Fiora’s father’s body into the Abyss. Fiora has had a similar problem to Jarvan, there’s just no evidence that Jack even existed prior to his arrival in the League. Only rumors.
Doom Bots 1 Bomb: Mortal Wounds cleaves and stacks on all units in front of him for both attacks. 2 Bombs: Add Smoke and Mirrors turns Jack invisible regardless, add Shadow Walk. 5 Bombs: Add Face-Taker refreshes all cooldowns of the target if he kills them, add spawns a Shaco-clone of himself when his health gets low.
I know skins weren't a category this time, but I couldn't help myself. These ideas just came to me while I was working on Jack. =Payday Jack (975)- Jack is in a black suit and tie with a white shirt. He also has a duffel bag over his shoulder, and is wearing the American Flag clown mask from Payday 2. No longer transforms for special interactions, instead does the make-it-rain gesture. Q: Jack throws a wad of money. W: Throws a duffle bag that explodes into a cloud of cash. R: Mark is $ sign. Recall- Jack dumps the duffel bag on himself and takes a money shower.
Green Jack (1830)- Jack is now in a green morph-suit with a ‘You don’t know me’ Witness Protection t-shirt, and is voiced by Charlie Day. Dance: Dances like the Green Man from Always Sunny. Q: Now throws a white, rubber ball that makes the “doomp” sound if it hits the target in the back. W: Largely unchanged. E: Mittens appear on his hands for the attacks R: Mark now appears as one of three randomly selected Green Man poses. Recall: Does the YMCA and somehow slips on the 'A.' As he hits the ground, he goes back to the spawn point.
