New Item Concept: Serpentine Hydra
I'm sure that I'm not the only one who misses the old Rageblade and its ranged Area Of Effect for marksmen. Whether the reason it was changed was because of Kog'Maw's 5.0 attack speed or because of how good it was on Tristana, or maybe some other or a combination of reasons, it was still a pretty good item. So I'm proposing a new item that brings back the feeling of a ranged Hydra that Rageblade used to be.
The item is called Serpentine Hydra. It is a ranged only item. Its stats would be something like: 30% Attack Speed 45-50 Attack Damage 12-15% Life Steal
It would be crafted with: Recurve Bow (1000 gold) Vampiric Scepter (900 gold) Pickaxe (875 gold) Upgrade Cost (725 gold) A total of 3500 gold like both Ravenous and Titanic Hydras
Unique Passive: Serpentine Bolt: Basic attacks send out a Serpentine Bolt towards the target, swiveling through and dealing physical damage to units hit and the target.
Basic attacks would send out an extra bolt similar to a Runaan's Hurricane bolt towards the target as an on-hit effect like the Ravenous and Titanic Hydras' Crescent passives. The bolt would travel in an 'S' like shape towards the target, dealing physical damage along they way to any unit hit. To maximize damage output with this item, one would focus on basic attacking units at the back of a group, rather than the closest unit to the marksman. That way, the extra bolt travels through multiple units before it hits its primary target. As far as hitbox goes for this item since it has an odd path, it could be similar to Diana's Q, Crescent Strike. And simply because of Jhin's passive and how his Attack Damage works, the bolt would not do damage based off of the champion's Attack damage, but rather either the champion's attack speed, or its critical strike chance, creating its minimum and maximum damage. The Serpentine Bolts would either apply lifesteal to the targets hit OR be able to critically strike, to create balance. Being an on-hit passive, the bolts would also apply (or change like Jinx' FishBones Rockets) the two extra bolts sent out when basic attacking with a Runaan's Hurricane.
Unique Active: Cobra Shot: The next basic attack fires a Cobra Shot, dealing increased damage to all units hit, and increased damage to the target per unit hit.
This would work similarly to how Titanic Hydra's active works. But instead, it would deal a flat amount of damage to units hit before the target, and increased damage to the primary target for each extra unit hit. Maybe something like 5% extra damage per unit hit up to 25% extra damage. The shot would have a slightly larger hitbox as it travels towards the target than the passive bolts, much like how the Ravenous and Titanic Hydras' actives effect a larger space than their passives. This would be really good for poking an enemy laner who is hiding from skill shots behind their wave of minions. It would also have its base damage dealt increase with either attack speed or critical strike chance, whichever was selected for the passive. And it would also either apply lifesteal or be allowed to critically strike, whichever was selected for the passive.
This item would be good on any champion that for the most part, focuses on basic attacking their enemies. Champions that typically build a Runaan's Hurricane are prime examples. Twitch, Kog'Maw, Tristana, Caitlyn, Jinx, Kalista, maybe even a Kayle. But would not be so good on other ability focused champions like Vayne, Lucian, Graves, Corki, or Jhin.
Its Icon could be a dark green Crossbow with a lighter green background. Maybe even a white or black snake as its loaded crossbow bolt. That would give it a sort of Venomous appearance.
