New Champion! New mechanics! Veil, the Ceaseless.

Was toying around with thoughts for a Diana rework, and stumbled across a mechanic that may be fun to use. Ive decided to just craft an entire character revolving around this mechanic.

The mechanic, which i will call Veiled(shrouded) for purpose of this post, was inspired by Akali shroud (which means i will get some distaste) but I do my best to balance this out.

So lets get into it!

Veil is a ghastly type creature, half human and half ghoul/ghost. Its a creature constantly fighting over control of one form or the other (Almost like Kayn, but more implemented into gameplay than a singular decision.) His kit revolves around this fight, being in and out of human form and ghast form. I have not developed a backstory, as Im much better at theory crafting abilities than I am stories.

I was thinking, potentially, that casting in while Veiled costs HP, and while human, Mana.

**Passive: ** Veiled Whenever Veil is outside of combat for 6 seconds, the Ghast takes over. Whenever in his Ghastly form, Veil cannot be targeted by champions, ignores unit collision, and gains 10% movespeed and 10/20/30% dmg reduction (Can still be struck by AoE/Skillshots) Ghosted After 12 seconds, Veil is almost fully dematerialized, and can slowly walk through terrain. Doing so slows him by 50% until exiting the terrain or taking damage, which forces him outside the terrain and into his previous form, Veiled.

Initiating combat (Spells, autos, items) immediately ends veil, letting his human form break through. Damage over time from items does not trigger this cancel.

**Q: ** Catatonic Shift 50/90/130/170/210 (+20% AD, +30%AP) Cooldown: 10 Cost: (Either HP or Mana, you decide) Veil forces himself out of his Ghastly form, violently exploding and damaging those around him. This ability cannot be used unless Veiled/Ghosted. Range - Similar to Diana E or Lissandra W

**W: ** Lurid Flux Cooldown: 12 Cost: (Either HP or Mana, you decide) Passive: All movement affects are increased by (5/10/15/20/25%) Active: Veil is forced into his ghastly Veiled form.

**E: ** Soul Alter 10/50/90/130/170 (+30% bonus AD, +30% AP) Cooldown: 16/15/14/13/12 Cost: (Either HP or Mana, you decide) Veils shadowed spirit rapidly fires from his body, stopping at the first enemy champion hit. Immediately upon contact, he dashes towards them while the soul, now linked to that champion, retreats to Veils previous location. (Think Zed W, but instead of a blink, its a dash and a skillshot) The shadow remains in its location for 2 seconds or until struck by Veil. Breaking the shadow deals repeat damage. Range - Bit shorter than Illaoi soul grab. Maybe like Maokai Q range.

**R: ** Havoc 50/100/150 (+10% AD, +20% AP) Cooldown: 10/8/6 Cost: 1 charge Veil rapidly dashes to a target location (This was the original Diana idea, reworked. So think Diana's current dash speed). If Veil connects with a soul or enemy champion, he is temporarily burst into his Veiled form behind them. ( .5 seconds? [Think Lissandra Q, when it connects with something]) If he strikes a champion/soul, Havoc's cooldown is changed to 2 (decreases with CDR) If Veil was already Veiled/Ghosted then Havoc deals 50% less damage but his Q gains 50/60/70% cooldown reduction for 4/5/6 seconds. Veil recharges one stack of Havoc every 30/25/20 seconds, up to 3.

 Veil revolves around constant form changes, small resets, and proper key management. His violent form changes do persistent, small AoE damage, and keep him somewhat safe. Being in human form exposes him to targeted abilities, but also gives him access to most of his damage. Once Veil goes in, he can stay hidden, choose to retreat, or rapidly form change to do concussive damage.

I would love comments and concerns. I'd appreciate an open mind and understanding that all numbers are ballpark guesses and available for change.

Edits: As Lo4ding pointed out, there was no clear interaction between his Veil and turrets. I have altered his Passive to state he cannot be targeted by CHAMPIONS

In what lane he should be played? What could be his standart build with combining AP and AD ratios.

I dont think that Ghosted mechanic is particulary viable as written. If Veil can be targeted only by skillshots and AOE, that would be broken AF, Imho. Imagine rushing sun-fire cape and standing near enemy champion without skillshot, effectively waiting him to die, particulary at early game.

As written, veil could be standing under enemy tower without being hit.

Imagine, him being jungler. Walking from under enemy tower to gang lane.

If this is not intentional than on other hand he would be very weak right now.

If he is ment to be assasin that would be bursting with combo E - R - Q his flat max lvl dmg is 700 with ratios of (90% AD and 110% AP) . For example Akali you have mentioned have about 1400 flat damage with ratios about (480% AD 200% AP).
