Approx time between champ announcments and release?

Im too lazy to go back and check so does anyone know/remember the APPROX time between a new champs announcement and release. I wanna know if i should save my ~4000 ip for Jhin right now or if i have time to spend it all and still be able to get 7300 by the time he is released.

I believe typically 1 cycle of PBE, and onto the next live patch (so, 2 weeks at 6.2).
