Poll Time

So, I voted no, and let me explain why.

First, let me tell you that I am a huge advocate of this community. I helped build it up four years ago, and it very much pleases me to still see it alive.

That said, the primary cause of weakness in these boards is the demand for Red posts. I've seen a lot of good champion ideas put here, and a lot of heart and soul poured into them, but let me be very clear in this: That is nowhere near the same thing as actually making a champion.

Every time someone posts that Riot should totally make this champion, or that if only they saw this idea they would have a great one, or anything like that, they're undercutting both the designers at Riot and the people posting champions right here. We have never seen a single one of these champions in motion, and so we can never actually know if an experimental kit is actually any fun or not. We simply can't, because we've never even prototyped a single one of our champion Ideas. I got the chance to do so for one of mine and found that 4/5 abilities he had, while mechanically sound and interesting, were BORING. There was no fun in them, even though I felt he was an interesting design.

Meanwhile, focusing on and wanting Red replies undercuts the feedback of everyone else in this forum. It tells everyone that their feedback is less important, and that we don't actually want it to improve, we want it to be popular, to be seen, to feel accomplished.

We can be so much more as a community. We have survived since the beginning of League on our own with minimal input from Reds, and we'll continue to do so.

This isn't as terrible a problem here as it is the other boards, but part of the reason the new forums were implemented, and part of their ultimate goal, is to get away from a reliance on Red posts, to help us to exist as a community with all the tools we need to support ourselves.

I hope this all makes sense, and if any of it doesn't, let's have a discussion.

I meant like a contest where people send their submissions to riot. Of course the whole leaving it up to the community would be a disaster in the making. But anyway you have any champion concepts ? I will review them if you review mine ^^.
