Aperture, the Spacetime Riftform

Let's be honest. I have no delusions of grandeur; I have no illusions that this champion will ever even be considered by Riot for addition to the game. Thus, I fully expect and accept such flames and trolls as "why did you even post this?" and "lol wtf is this character?"

However, I like putting ideas into words, and I once randomly started putting some ideas from my imagination into League form, so if I were going to write up a design for this character, why not see what others think of my ideas too? I'm never one to refuse free stuff, even if that "stuff" is criticism, constructive or destructive.

Introduction Aperture (I'm bad with names - any other suggestions?) is basically a dude with a sword who can manipulate space and time. (Zilean + Ezreal? Zilean + Kassadin?) That is, he can teleport things, and do timey-wimey things.

Visual design What does this dude look like? He's pretty much Tyrael without wings, and instead of mysterious blackness under his hood, he's got glowy energy spiral fractal things (like Xerath sort of?). He can have those instead of gauntlets too, so you can see 3-5 points of glowy energy-ness: his head, hands, and maybe feet. He should definitely have no face, just incomprehensible fractal swirls of some sort (work in a spherical version of that weird 3d optical illusion cube?). Better switch up the color scheme for variety too. Blue and black?

Abilities Resource: Mana

Passive - Memories of the Future Cooldown of all abilities (maybe just one ability for balance?) is reduced by 1 second for every hit dealt to Aperture. Philosophy: Needed a timey-wimey passive. This is the first thing that came to mind.

Q - Wind up - Wind down Toggle on to leave silhouettes and gain +AD for up to a few seconds, and toggle again to reverse time, undoing any damage or healing to you in that period, and to the enemy if they are in your silhouette trail when you wind down. Time is not reversed if this ability is not toggled off. Explanation: This is pretty much a LeBlanc illusion play (w?), except more powerful, more telegraphed, with cheesy counterplay, slightly less instant, and no AoE burst damage. Philosophy: Silhouettes are so cool. Time reversals are so cool. SO COOL. After reflecting on his kit as a whole, I realized he had like no damage in his abilities, only utility basically, so I decided to pop a +AD bonus on that fracker. The fantasy can be that his stretching of time increases the impact of his sword. Yeah!!!

W - Rupture Anomaly Slices the air in front of Aperture (a la Yasuo wind wall) and opens an unstable space anomaly (wall). Enemies that pass through this are teleported forward a large distance in the direction they are moving and take medium magic damage. Scaling: Low AP. Philosophy: Needed a utility skill. I like things that take a lot of careful thought to execute properly. This is the first thing that came to my mind. It punishes an Aperture player who spams abilities, because you're literally giving your enemy a chase mechanism by putting it down (but it can also trap/zone low health enemy champions from CSing/lasthitting/engaging??? also - synergy with knockback champions like Alistar and Tristana?!?!!?!)

E - Displace Very vanilla blink. For mechanics, pretty much just copy and paste Ezreal's blink (except maybe more punishing in terms of CC?). I'm imagining a very responsive (1 frame delay??) blink animation. Important change: Can store 2 charges. Cooldown on charge generations: Long. (30 to 24 seconds?) Cooldown in between blinks: Low. (Kassadin 2.0???) Philosophy: I like the fantasy of striking an enemy from one angle, then suddenly appearing behind that enemy to strike from a different angle. Maybe I've seen too much Bleach and DBZ. This champion finally gives an excuse for kind-of-makes-sense melee true-blink.

R - Impale Teleports sword into target enemy, dealing massive magic damage and lowering the enemy's maximum HP by the same amount for up to 30 seconds, while his sword remains inside target enemy. Aperture cannot auto-attack or use W while this effect is active. Aperture can recall his sword at any time after using this ability, but this will restore the enemy's maximum HP limit. Cooldown: Low. (60 seconds?) Scaling: High AD, low AP. Philosophy: Awww HELL YES. Now we're talkin' 'bout signature abilities. If you have the power to teleport things, why not teleport a sword right into the enemy? Aw heck yes. So badass. Just like voomph, ohey, look, there's a sword in your chest and you can't get it out!! Yeah!!! I originally considered making it true damage, but then I remembered that way too many champions have true damage in this game now, so magic damage it is. AD scaling because dude, he uses a sword, we don't want another freak like Katarina around whose swords are more powerful because big rod. No. Big swords. That's the only option.

What do you guys think eh??? Pretty stupid eh??? Well, screw that, I'm gonna continue imagining myself teleporting around and teleporting swords into people. Voomph! Awwww yeaaaaaaaaaah.
