Champion idea: Cocky kid from Demacia
So my desire was to create a champ that relied on being a absolute stat monster. At the same time I didn't want to make a rolling ball of stats that's going to beat you no matter what. I wanted the champion to be able to respond to different situations while having very clear and definite strengths and weaknesses depending on his choices. I ended up with this idea. This champ is an extremely arrogant 18 or so year old kid from Demacia. He is a physical specimen and can outthink most anyone, leading to his arrogance. His one main fault is that he can lose concentration easily, leading to him not preforming as well as he can - though still better than most. I've yet to decide exactly how he comes by this but he finds a semi-magical material which can transform shapes in accordance to his thought. When he finds this he takes it to Jayce and together they create what I'm gonna call the archetype. The archetype can transform between a shield, sword, and blaster. Each different form of the archetype provides him with varying amounts of different stats. This is where the clear strengths and weaknesses come in, each form he choses makes him incredible in one way while sacrificing a lot somewhere else. For example in his shield form he is very durable but he sacrifices a lot of movement speed and damage; however, if he decides to switch to his blaster form he may gain a lot of movement speed and a fair amount of damage, he takes the risk of being really squishy. My hope is that this champion would be able to respond to most any situation while still giving his opponents ample opportunity to change their strategy to react to his decisions. Now for his actual skills, which I am only attached to a few concepts for.
Passive: Brains and Brawn: His abilities require a unique resource - focus. Focus passively regenerates up to a maximum of 100. Additionally his skills scale according to how much focus he has at the time that he cast them. I do this for several reasons. One being that thematically it fits that he doesn't preform as well when he loses focus. Two being that I don't want him to have a huge bag of tricks that he can constantly use to get out of trouble or secure kills that other characters would never be able to get. I want him to be rewarded with using his skills at the right moments and be penalized for being too rash. Thirdly this allows opponents to, If they are able, maintain pressure and not allow him to keep focus, which will weaken him. Fourthly this presents a choice for him. Because his abilities scale with the amount of focus he has his stats also increase as his focus does. The casting if an ability often come at the cost of stats.
Q: Archetype: Transform - Toggles between the shield, sword, and blaster forms of the archetype.
W: Archetype: Dash - He dashes forward at varying lengths and effects depending on which form the archetype is in. Shield - short dash, if he comes into contact with an ally that ally gains a short armor and Mr buff. Sword - short dash, attacks at the end of the dash Blaster - medium range dash, fairly weak attack at the end. Grants a rapidly decreasing movement speed buff.
E: Archetype: Attack - Attacks using the archetype, differing on which form the archetype is in. Shield - throws the shield a medium distance (captain America style). Deals a little damage and stuns the first enemy hit. Sword - sweeping attack in a cone, coo Blaster - straight line attack
R: Archetype: Overcharge - grants maximum and rapidly recharging focus and resets the cool down timers on all other skills.
Obviously this champion is not complete. I haven't given much thought to the varying costs, damages, and cooldowns of the skills, Nor have I given thought to his base stats or growth. The core of this champ right now for me is his Q, his passive, and a little his R. I think he really needs the resets. Other than that his other skills are just thoughts. I'm tinkering with the idea of having his skills return some focus and grant small steroids to both reward him for being active and keep in tune with the stat monster idea. Let me know what you think!
