It applies on hit effects and lifesteal, why wouldn't it crit?

The Q doesn't normally Crit (and I'm not sure it crit in this case either, I think only the bonus damage crit). They did it that way to prevent Ezreal from being a skillshot Crit-plank.

Mystic Shot does not crit. It is a skill; not an auto attack. Irelia Q's applies lifesteal and it is on hit, but it does not crit either.

Riot recently made it so that even though the mystic shot per say does not crit, the statikk shyv will have a chance of critting based on your crit percentages.

True, but I had tri force that game and stacking sheen items is not really smart. Tri force deals the damage while statikk gives some AOE burst.

Statikk isn't technically AoE though. Also, item 3025 is pretty standard and OP on Ez, not only because it helps counter other adcs and gives him aoe cc, but also goes well with item 3042

How is it not AOE? It literally distributes to 4 people.

That was the old way of building Ezreal, back in season 5. Check any pro's op gg with Ezreal. It is all trinity force.

mystic shot has been able to critical since season 6 i think. the one benefit that statikk shiv gives is that it chains to 4 targets and those chains can go through minions. riot actually encourages players to buy both rapid fire canon and statikk shiv because it allows players to combo off of turrets.

fair enough. i build things people find taboo so i cant complain. for example i build archangel instead of manamune. i build boots of swiftness or sorcery instead of lucidity. i take thunderlords. lots of weird stuff. nashoors. etc.

I thought Ezreal's Q is coded as an auto? It's why it applies on-hit effects and buffs (like Nami's Blessing).

It is like a pseudo auto, just like GP's Q. Applies lifesteal and on hits, but can not crit. The discrepancy here is the fact that the Statikk Shyv can crit with his Q (which ironically does not crit). (GP Q however can crit).

Mystic Shot is really a weird case.
