Give players the option to change profile background?

I thought it was one of the cooler updates with the new client was the profile background that changes depending on your most used champ. However I feel it leaves a little to be desired. I mean, you are personally in charge of almost every aspect of how you want to run your account, i.e. Icon, rune pages, masteries, what champ to play, what skin to use, what ward skin to use.

So with all this customization, why did Riot choose to only allow your most played champ to be displayed on your profile page?I don't think that it would be a hard change to allow players to choose which champ they want to be displayed and even allowing different skins for champs as well.

What does everyone else think about this?

One of the things about Ultimate skins is that when you equip their icons, you get to make your profile show that Ultimate skin.

That coolness would be taken away if we had as much control over our profiles as you are suggesting.

Well a basic feature would be to pick a champion.

Ultimates could still retain multiple skin choices (assuming it works yet).

Well I'm not suggesting that you get to change it to any skin. If anything they could implement it to where you can only change your background to champs/skins that you own. That would give people with ultimate skins the background that they want, and it could also make it to where you don't have to have that icon equipped if you don't want it.

I agree, I love my DJ Sona background, but I never use the icons. It's a shame.

I've always wanted this, and asked for it before too (no answer from any rioter tho item 3070 ), I'd kill for my banner/background to be Cosmic Reaver Kass to match my current icon (or whatever would match the icon I'd be currently using).

Man, it would be awesome if a Rioter commented on this just to say if they have had any thoughts on even trying to implement this or not. I think it would be a really nice quality of life update, and shouldn't be too hard to implement. I mean, all the work on the backgrounds are already done, all they would have to add is like a profile background page where you select a champ you own, then chose from if you want the default look or to use a skin, chromas would probably be left out but I don't really see that as too much of a problem.

Now that I think of it, they wouldn't even have to add a new menu. Just add a button onto the champion screen, the one where you can browse through their skins and see their abilities; one that says something like : Make this my Profile Background image : and BAM!

if it would just become consistent already it would be fine. one time it's my highest mastery, other times it's my most played in the past 20 games.

That used to be my complaint, but lately it's been consistently my most played in the past 20 games. (Or at least, it said that. There have been times that it was just slow to update according to my past 20 games.)

Actually, I have a question if anyone has an answer. Why is that lux's ultimate skin is always the light splash art when equipping any of her icons when DJ Sona's changes depending on the icon you have?

Probably because, with all the combinations, Riot chose not to. After all, DJ Sona has only 3 different changes. Elementalist Lux has 5+.

because there's only 1 splash art for elementalist lux. they have portraits for all of them but there is only a full splash for the starting one.

I've always wanted this too! I would love to be able to choose from any of the skins that I own. I would like to be able to use my Elementalist Lux background without having the icon equipped.
