Why isn't there a legendary animal champion?

I was wondering why there is a lack of actual animals on the rift? Surely there are some unique archetypes to pursue?

Aside from and , most animalistic champions have humaniod qualities/characteristics and ALL of them have the ability to talk.

EX:

This is just one of a few ideas I have come up with that I found interesting.

and I LOVE her, but she is a monster, not an animal. A step in the right direction having her not speak though.

We always could use more monsters aswell

What distinguishes an animal from a monster for you, in this context?

She fits the bill for what you asked for perfectly. She's an extraordinary (not in a humanoid way) member of a non-sapient species.

Animal meaning real world related. Rek'sai is from the void and came to the "real world" meaning she is an alien species.

Let's look at the movie Monsters Inc. The monsters came into the real world via doors. They were not classified as animals when they entered the children's rooms (except by Boo I guess).

I really don't want this to tread into "what is an animal and what is a monster" territory.

Champ pool is lacking in both cases.

Ask for a Champion that's a legendary example of a real-world animal.

The biggest reason is that animal skeletons are deceptively hard to animate.

Anivia just flaps. That's all she is allowed to do, because animating a bird walking would be a two month prison sentence for who ever drew the short straw.

Sejuani and Bristle get away with it because Sej's legs don't actually move, Bristle counts as her legs in the rig.

Look at Hecarim , or Volibear when he charges. Their whole bodies are put into it. Compare that to Garen when he speeds up, or the way Quinn naturally walks.

Ao Shin was put on the waaaaaay back burner (and Yasuo cannibalized his kit) because animating a snake dragon rig is way too much work.

They did RekSai because she's not an animal anyone can recognize, so they could cut corners and flub a bit on making her. A lot of her action is done underground too.

And while I would welcome an actual animal champ, I downvoted you because VIKTOR IS NOT EVIL, OKAY?

I didn't really imply he was evil haha. Just that he experiments on anything and everything which I think is pretty accurate

Also simply because something is difficult to animate does not mean there shouldn't be an attempt.

Nidalee 's cougar form is a good example.

The idea of a lightning wolf beast thing sounds amazing. I'm not sure about the skills, but the idea is great!

What if there was a skill that allowed him to see enemies trail? Once he gets into X range of the enemy last location it could have a faint trail or something. It could be a toggle or passive.
