Malphite Rework Idea
This is just a thought for a more mechanically intensive tank, since those don't really exist right now.
Passive: Granite Shield: Whenever a nearby enemy champion is immobilized by Maphite, Maphite gains a shield (1% max hp) and applies Petrification to them. Petrification will slowly charge over 6/4/2 seconds. (Think of a bar filling or a circle around their feet to symbolize.) Enemies will stay at Max charge for 1.5 seconds. At Max charge, if Maphite immobilizes them again, they are stunned for 1/2/3 seconds. Successfully immobilizing an enemy champion with max Petrification charge will grand Maphite a shield (10% max hp). Petrification cannot be applied to an enemy more then once every 8 seconds. If Maplhite immoblizes them before Petrification reaches max charge, then Petrification will stop charging and go on target cooldown.
Q: Seismic Shard: Maplhite throws a Shard of rock in the target direction (a skillshot, like Ez or Jayce Q) that absorbs projectiles and deals 70/100/130/160/190 (+50% Ap). Enemies hit by the ability are rooted for 0.5 seconds. Cooldown: 12 seconds flat.
W: Unshakable: Upon activation Maplhite receives bonus dmg reduction from dmg hitting him from whatever side the cursor was pointing. Reactiviating this ability will redirect the shield. (I can't draw, so just imagine something like Fiora's vitals, except they can be positioned and they reduce damage.) Damage reduction: 40/50/60/70/80%. Lasts 4/5/6/7/8 seconds after activation. Repositioning the shield extends its duration by 0.5 seconds. Cooldown: 20/19/18/17/16 seconds after shield ends.
E: Ground slam: Maplhite Charges for up to 3 seconds. After reactiviating, he strikes the ground, knocking all nearby enemies towards him and dealing magic damage. Max Knockup duration: 1/1.25/1.5. Magic damage: 60/70/80/90/100 (+50% Ap). Cooldown: 15 seconds flat.
R: Unstoppable Force: Maplhite charges towards a location, dealing magic damage. Enemies in the area are knocked up. Damage: 100/200/300 magic damage. Knockup: 1.3/1.4/1.5 seconds. Cooldown: 100/80/60 seconds.
