Champion Idea; Odilia: The Chem Baron Princess
Overview: A frontline tank support, Odilia's play-style centers around zoning out enemies through health and resistance burning pokes, while healing, buffing and sometimes outright tackling her allies out of harm's way.
Lore:
Born to a wealthy Zaunite Chem Baron, Odilia spent much of her life in sheltered seclusion, wanting for nothing she might ask for. Either fueled by or in spite of her increasingly voracious appetite for material things, she also proved equally covetous of knowledge. She attended the finest schools money could buy, applying herself with a burning passion in the pursuit of mastering every kind of art, talent, or craft, though her true brilliance was in her family's tradition, Chemtech. Despite her demanding and intensely focused personality, she was well regarded by teachers and students alike, for she took great care of those she arrogantly but endearingly called her a possessions, funding their own studies and works to see all that they could offer her. Though insulated in her own high society bubble, she was not blind to the staggering inequalities present in Zaun between those she considered her peers and those that worked for men of attitudes much the same as her own beloved father. She worked subtly and imploringly first to influence change with her own father, her usual choice in presents of delicacies and rare materials or artwork shifting to protective gear for their workers or improved equipment for their manufactories. Though her father's workers adored her efforts, she quickly grew bored with such indirect methods of improving their lives, and realized that while she might be able to help those under her own family's Chemtech empire, she would need other means to help those under her family's competitors. More personal and exciting means, ones that might make use of her chemtech skills and the rare and expensive artifacts she was so fond of collecting.
Abilities:
-
Passive: Affluent Acquisition Odilia cannot buy from the normal pool of items like other Champions. Instead, she has access to a pool of items she can build for each ability that augment them in some way. She will still benefit from and can make use of each items stats, passives, and actives. The items available to Odilia in the shop are discounted based on her level, and can be refunded for their full purchase amount. Each item will have an item out of its build path available, and will impart a limited version of the full extra effect while building towards it. While four of her item slots will be locked to each of her abilities so that their actives, if available, can be used, two slots will remain unlocked, for a support item and consumables or wards respectively.

Summary: In terms of overall concept, I wanted to create a champion designed around their moves being defined by items they bought, similar to Kai'Sa or Ornn, but with more of a focus on the tactical build path the player would follow while building them. A tank support was a logical choice for a champion limited to a specific item pool as the items for tanks and supports are fairly consistent across the board as far as viability and the popular consistency with which they are built. I went with a buff/debuff support specifically because its something that doesn't really exist. There are healers like Soraka and Sona, full cc tanks like Braum and Alistar and Leona, hook champions like Pyke and Thresh and Blitzcrank, and shield and cc poke supports like Lulu and Janna and Rakan.
Out of that list, only Braum, Alistar, Thresh, and Leona are meant to play forward of their ADC to zone and take hits. Creating another champion that was meant to play in that zone and who's kit revolved around playing there was appealing. Her Q would either be used behind her to heal her ADC or ahead of her to debuff the enemy laners. Her W would prevent champs from effectively engaging on her if just splashed around her, and when coupled with her E, would punish enemy laners from aggressively pushing in on Odilia's ADC. I placed her passive on her E to incentivize choosing the move that would be used to rescue her allied laner from harm, though i am curious if it might not work better on her w. As far as her R goes, i loved the idea of an impactful but fully team dependent rally type mechanic. Granting a large, but short, boost to defensive stats seemed like a fun, and if scaled properly, not overpowered way of giving a boost to allies during a fight.
No hard numbers have been included for any of Odilia's moves, as they would require extensive playtesting in order to fine-tune. In their place i used words like small or large, slightly or severely, and greater, to show how much impact I think each move should have.
Before inevitably being told any (if not all) of Odilia's moves would be overpowered or without any real though process behind them, I thought in terms of other champions moves for how some of Odilia's own would work as a hard point of reference; Poppy's W passive for Odilia's E passive, Camille's Passive or Tahm Kenches E for the shields and gray health on Odilia's E, Cassiopeia's W for Odilia's W, with a bit of Black Clever or the old Wit's End for it as well. Odilia's dash was modeled on Poppy's E mixed with Camille's. Odilia's Q was modeled on Corki's Q, but with a heal splash for allies and a burn for enemies. Odelia's ult would be most similar to Lulu's crossed with Shen's, to a far lesser scale to account for affecting potentially a whole team.
I would love any and all feedback on this character concept. I think a collaborative process for something like this is fun, and am curious to hear peoples thoughts. I did try to think of where else she could be played, Top seemed like a logical choice, but I don't know how the final item slot that wouldn't be filled by a support item would work, at the start it would obviously be a lane item, but at endgame it would be basically worthless and leave her with 5 items to everyone else 6. Any thoughts on that particular i am greatly interested to see. I know this is very long and probably overly detailed, so thanks for reading though.
