Maybe 90% of the community will disagree with me, but my opinion is: Since I started to play League of Legends (Around Gnar release) I don't like too much of the new champions (include Gnar), please community don't kill me. I'll explain why. I know League is to everyone, every public, then must have the cute ones. I much prefer the badass ones, like Zed, Vladimir, Twisted Fate, Graves, Yasuo, Talon, the new GP is so damn badass it is the best new thing since I started to play, I know someone can call Azir, Rek, and other new champions of badass but Rek Sai looks too Ben10 to me, Tahm Kench as well, I hope the nexts new champions would look more like the new GP and less like a fat frog ( I know a lot of people like), Ekko is a big head kid, Kallista isn't nice, I know I'm criticizing a lot, but is just my opinion, more badass champions ! And your opinion about the new champions? post below, thank you everyone I hope I have not offended anyone

Makes sense, but everyone has different opinions. It's all about variety, so don't worry if the next champ isn't super badass, there will be one eventually.

Well, other people have issues with the new champions (but they are usually for different reasons), so it's not like you are alone.

The thing is about those is that "badass" as an _aesthetic _ is so very limited and limiting in it's nature and can be quite one-note, it's why a lot of people don't like it and why I, personally, can't bring myself to like or care about Talon as a character one way or another.

But it's funny you bring up Vladimir as an example, I like him a lot but a part of that is because I would say he isn't a badass. I'll explain. Vlad is a hemomancer and/or vampire (depending on the skin) and with his abilities, you get into mind certain things, types, personalities, and so forth, and maybe this "badass type" is one of them. But in game, when you play with him, you see that he's not any of those. Like his voice over shows that Vlad is a guy who makes himself look like a dork because he just loves making bad puns so much. Not only is there this interesting contrast between who Vlad is and what his charater type is but the VO this additional trait about him. In other words, he has a personality. Having a character allows there to be something to connect to about a character outside of the general image of him. Sure, it's limited due to how few lines there are but it's a lot more likable than if he just ran around generically saying "I'll crush everyone who stands in my way."

I know that need to be varity, I agreed but recently is hard to see a new ninja, a demon vampire, a hunter, just a lot of champions that reminde me of Monsters S/A..

Hmmm, I wonder, do you consider Vel'Koz 'badass'? What other champs do you consider badass? (Sion I assume, too?)

I like any champion with a nicely developed and/or original backstory; but am definitely biased towards certain concepts. People who are both heroic and intimidating at the same time are loads of fun. Viktor, for example, encompasses both of these elements in addition to a fantastic backstory; with guest appearances during the coming Void invasion, to boot (BATTLECAST!). Diana is similarly a very inspired champ. Great story; fun design; falls slightly short in the 'heroic' factor, but still ticks all the other boxes. These are my two favourites.

I don't much like Gnar or Tahm. But, then again, I don't like Zed, Talon, Vlad or Yasuo, either. ;p

I would love a new champion that I could connect with, but generally champions are given a poor backstory and a 'shtick'; then released. And yet I hold out hope!
