New vastayan champion?

Vastaya - Universe of League of Legends

I've been thinking.... since the whole deal of "animal feature" champions are now grouped together as the vastayan tribe, which does concern the fact that there's a HUGE missing link for each of the branches, there's huge variety of possible champions, few for each tribes.

We got a lot of cute girls in the vastayan tribe, especially Ahri Ahri and Xayah Xayah with.... Nami Nami being a questionable pick, but she's nevertheless a vastayan girl. Meanwhile three of the male are Wukong MonkeyKing Rengar Rengar and Rakan Rakan which all are... not so appealing. (I mean, Wukong and Rengar designed to be badass and brutal, meanwhile Rakan isn't really... as good looking as he should be)

This, added by the fact that the rest of the animal-based male champions is a straight humanoid animal, such as Nasus Nasus Renekton Renekton Warwick Warwick Volibear Volibear and probably several more that I missed. This does not count the Void champions, or other random monsters. Basically, we got a lot of monstrous things, but... human-like with animal feature, is kinda rare.

Considering that, animal-featured characters (in many media and stories out there) tend to be cute and appealing, or straight of savage wild, I'm thinking that we could balance this with a young male vastayan. That would be cute!

We already got a lot of cute girls recently, namely Zoe and Neeko, while the cute boy is.... literally just Nunu. We kinda need more of them to balance things out, and I see the potential of a male vastayan. I'm thinking on making a mage, since vastayan tend to live for long, and so we can connect this new champion with many of the lore, such as the great Rune War, or something.

We got Zoe, who fall under the territory of "thousands years old loli" genre, and if applied to a male vastayan, I want someone who appear young, but very smart and knowledgeable, hiding fearsome power behind his appeal. I want something that's NOT sexual, unlike Ahri, but instead is a pure ball of fluffy cuteness, but not annoying like Zoe either.

My idea right now would be.... something like this, but the ear has the same color as the hair, and he got a tail as well.

Hold up.. wdym???? Rakan is hot af! I can see your point about Nunu being the only “cute boy” as many of the other male champs are either “hot af” or “rugged attractive”. I’d love a champ like the boy you suggested (and lol, the new champ teased has a book that looks extremely similar to that one’s). I was actually hoping Neeko would’ve been a boy so hopefully the new champion will be a boy.

But yeah I was hoping for a cute boy in the game, and he being a vastayan really hit the spot for me.

Imagine a smug cat boy trashtalk to Ryze because he was there thousands years ago when the war happened.

See, I want the opposite: I want a Vastayan female that's really gruff and vulgar, and doesn't care.

Xayah is sort of like that attitude-wise, but she still doesn't really capture the true artistic look of being truly put through the wringer by humanity.

My thought is a raccoon Vastaya - small, dirty (not in that way, you perverts) but full of ferocity and an attitude taken even further than Xayah's in her hatred of humans. A master cutpurse and knife-wielder. Agile, edgy, not afraid to get right in your face, and more that willing to get her hands dirty. I don't really have a picture, but League needs more women that DON'T look like they could fill in for Disney princesses.

Let's name the concept for my idea...Wilk, for some irony. If you know where I got that from, and what it means, bonus points. :P

Sounds pretty cool, but we recently already got the "strong female" archetype, from Xayah to Akali, and people been telling that the League keeps on being edgy ever since the Aatrox rework.

Either way, I find your vastayan idea to be something interesting to see.

I'd love to have more fearsome females. We don't have any "animal-esque" female Vastayas like Rengar or Wukong. We don't even have a female Shuriman Ascended, which I feel would be along the same lines as far as "gruff and vulgar, animal-like."

That said, I'd like the opposite as well, like OP said. Definitely both niches that haven't been filled.

Definitely. I made...most of my concept. Trying to come up with something that fits a raccoon Vastaya as an ultimate. The rough draft of Wilk is on here, just got done. Ratios for abilities will come when I have more time, and I still need an ult.

I want Leon as a character too, and the next champ might be a vastaya.

They are implied to have a cat theme, im hoping animesque cat boy.

Hell I made a whole Cat Boy champ concept i never posted.

The only animesque boy we really have is Ezreal. And he's an awesome anime guy, though the art in his travel journals is lackluster af.

If Rito actually making a cat boy vastayan I'll main that guy in a blink of an eye.

And yeaaaah I totally agree... League really lacks the anime-ish style champion. Sure it recently gradually getting more animesque with the new splash art getting better, but we don't have any champion with a really anime appeal, unless Ezreal, which isn't enough.

I'll have to fish the sketches out, he was a mad scientist with a giant pair of scissors.

I hardcore had Star Ocean on the brain since id just replayed 2 and played through 1 for the first time on psp.

Fun fact, you can get Phia and Eris on the same team with a little back tracking even though every guide says its impossible. Sadly you can't get Welch though.

I will try my hand at making something based off of this at some point...least I can do, since I made the majority of my "opposite" concept from seeing this.

But it wont be tonight. Either Friday or Saturday, I'm not sure which.

I only have one image that fits the Vastaya theme and they are not cute. At least, not Zoe or Neeko levels of cute.

Actually I think we need a female who is full animal like all the males you mentioned. We do not have any full animal female vastaya. I personally hate the human vastaya with the ears so id like to see like a cat or dog based female champ with zero human features (i mean like skin and face etc.)
