"Flora" - Champion concept (support)

#-Flora- Champion concept

TLDR; Flora is a mage support. Instead of mana she uses charges. Charges (in the form of flowers) can be picked up after randomly spawning around her. Her ‘e’ applies a mark that can be ‘consumed’ with her q (a piercing ‘arrow’) to stun people. Her w can be cast on allies and on enemy’s. Her ult heals allied champions around her for damage the enemy takes in her ult. It’s a playmaking mage in lane that can a big impact in team-fights.

Here is a little more in-depth information:


#Lore(?)

I could go and write a story here. But I think it’s pointless, since it won’t be made the way it is anyway. I can however explain what kind of person we are talking about and what the point of joining the league would be.

Okay so flora is a fairly young (around Ekko’s age) girl who loves to be with natures finest. Plants have always been what she spent her time on. With her mother, Zyra, she would go into the woods deeper and deeper to find more and stranger plants. One day, however, when they found their selves deeper in the forest than ever before, her mother mysteriously disappeared. For days, Flora had been searching for her, helpless and alone until she found her: tangled in vines, one with the plants beneath her. In the corner of her eyes, a vine shot swiftly in her direction, as she was still small and quick she jumped away, and started running as she had never done before. It was only when she reached her home when she realized what had happened. Filled with anger and fear, now that what she loved had turned against her. She knew exactly what she had to do, she knew exactly, how she could get her mother back…

Hmm turns out I wrote a little story at last. Oh well. Sorry :)

Anyway, as you probably got from the story Flora is the one and only biological daughter from Zyra (before she turned into a plant). By mastering the powers of the plants she hopes to find and get back her mother she once had.

As for personality. For some reason I had to think of Luna Lovegood from harry potter. A little weird but in a smart and joyful way (not like Jinx tho, a bit more soft and sweet).

**Passive: “Gifts from the Earth” **

Unlike any other champion, Flora’s entire kit is based on charges. Flora gains a charge by picking up roses that spawn every [x] seconds (think of zyra in her current state, but a lot less frequent). These charges can be killed by either attacking them twice or stepping on them. Killing a charge will grant it’s killer 5 gold. Every ability (with the exception of het ult) consume a charge. Flora can have a maximum of 3 charges at a time. Additionally. Every rose that flora has picked up from the beginning of the game will grant her 1 permanent ability power.

So this is entirely new. No mana and no energy or anything. Picking up flowers grants a permanent stat (AP) and a free pass to use an ability. Managing your charges is essential. To land a stun you will for instance need 2. I think it’s a good innovative principal to base a champion around. Below there’s a screenshot of what you can imagine it to look like. Very rough of course, just for the idea. It might be a good idea to have charges expire at a certain time. This way dragon/baron dances become a lot more intense, since you might have to step forward a little to stay at full charges. It might be too safe of a champion if she could just have her charges stacked at three all the time, giving her a lot of pressure.

Q: “thorn of the rose”

Flora consumes a rose’s power to fire a magical beam towards target location that deals magic damage. When the targeted champion is marked with “sweet scent” (e-ability) the target will be stunned for [x] seconds and take double the damage.

A little playmaking ability. When you hit your ‘e’ you can deal a notable amount of damage and stun a target champion by hitting your q. Note that you can practically stun 5 people with this combo since it does not lose its effect after target champion hit.

W – “help from fauna”

Flora consumes a rose to attract a horde of insects. On ally cast: the butterflies fly around an ally shielding them for [x] damage, and increasing their movement speed with [x]% On enemy cast: the butterflies fly around target champion initially blinding them for a short duration (about 0.75 seconds) whilst also applying a slow for double that duration.

E – “leaf dust”

Flora consumes a rose to blow it’s leaves in a cone towards target location. Revealing them for [x] seconds and applying “sweet scent” for that same duration.

R – “The garden of life and death”

Flora commands a garden of thorns and flowers to rise from below (blue area). Slowing all enemy units who step on it by [x]%. For each [x]% of damage of damage dealt to enemy champions who were in the ‘garden of death’ all nearly allies (orange area) are healed for [x]% of the total damage dealt.

By damaging enemies within ‘the garden of death’ you heal nearby allies. This amount of HP you ‘steal’ should slightly scale with AP. I think the healing should go as with [x]% of missing health for each [x]% of the enemy’s max health. If you just take flat HP you have the problem that a team of mainly tanks will never get to kill the squishy’s because they would heal too much.


That’s about everything I got. As mentioned, it’s just an idea. With my last concept I went into numbers and cooldowns and what not. But that doesn’t really add anything to the idea. So yea, not this time.

I hope you like it. I enjoyed putting this idea on paper so it’s worth the effort anyway.

Did anyone else see "Fiora" - Champion concept (support) when they were scrolling through the boards and think. "Support Fiora, this should be a good read". Only to find out that it's actually FLORA.

I feel like she should have 4 or 5 charges... because then she can stay in the lane a bit longer without having to wander around as much.... idk... I mean what you have might be balanced, would have to see it in game though... cuz all you have charges for is one burst combo and thats it.... which annoys me a bit xD

You might want to consider adding more power into her E. It sounds like it does nothing but reveal enemies and mark them for her Q while dealing no damage. It is pretty useless as is, as all it does is make her Q more situational. Give her a reason to cast her E independent of other abilities.
