Hey everybody! I've had this Lux painting I made sitting in my hard drive for a while now and I figured I'd toss it up on the boards! I know Lux is far from the highest priority on the Visual Upgrade list, but I think eventually she would really benefit from a Sona/Cassiopeia tier model upgrade, at the very least.

I made some tweaks to her current design to make it a little more practical and sleek (to tie in with her espionage related activities in the lore) while still being ceremonial and pretty, and I tried to maintain an inherently Demacian theme to it! Her armor was inspired by the avian insignia on Garen's shoulder plates, as well as the Demacian crest in general. I wanted it to be like, fashion meets function with a little bit of symbolic propaganda on the side.

Also started some rough top down concepts, as well

I decided to look at the rest of your work, and I can't believe how talented you are O_O

Everything is just so amazing! I remember seeing your Debonair Caitlyn before, but I was unaware that the Jade Palace Orianna was from the same person! I'm definitely a major fan of your work and I'll be tuning in to see what all you come up with ^_^

Also, you should consider applying to Riot as part of either the concept/champion team, or the skin team. Definitely think you have the talent for it :D

I'm a huge Lux fan; I probably have more games on her than any other champ in the game dating back to 2011. Any time I see anything pop up on the forums referencing skins ideas/retcon/etc. involving her I check it out, and a solid 90% of the time, I despise them. Lux has a very defined identity right now surrounding her extended lore and visuals, and a lot of the ideas that come around depict her as an over-joyful, nonsensical air-head.

That being said, I can't stress enough how hard you hit the nail on the head with this piece of work. It's absolutely phenomenal.

Lux is an intelligent, yet sad individual. She covers up her sadness with a joyful disposition. Your work doesn't depict sadness, but it also doesn't depict her as a sexualized, privileged, outgoing fool either. Her clothes are classy, yet functional as you said. Personally, I really like what you did with her hair style as well, it's not just draped over her back, but it's still long and has that braid in it. Overall, I think it makes her look more mature.

I really hope Riot doesn't scrap her extended lore when they decide how they are going to update her; whether its a Poppy/Sion level (which I doubt, but given the time frame of all the other Champion updates that are currently in queue, you never know what kind of status she'll be considered when the time does come) or just a Viktor/Sona level. I can honestly say this is something to be remembered and referenced though. I could really appreciate a VU like this one, it captures everything visually.

I want this so badly, please Riot. This looks actually really amazing and very talented. It brings more of the lady-like feel which is what she's supposed to have. Currently she looks extremely child-like and I'm not sure if they were going for that or not. This is definitely better.

Oh my god, I love that so much. I played nothing but Lux from level 10-30 and have never been happy with any of her skins. But this is FANTASTIC!

If Riot doesn't hire you or at least blatantly copy this design from head to toe, I will be severely disappointed. I'm hoping on the former, though.

You did an amazing job. Just the right balance between frills, ceremonial armor and Lux. The Demacian flavour is also present. The lack of boob plates and high heels is also nice. Bravo!

On a sidenote, I was gushing over your Debonair Cait a while back as well. You've definitely got something going on. :)

You should defiantly join the skins and VU team at riot, you would be perfect because all your ideas are just so beautiful and they fit the themes so well! I mean, your other concepts just make me like "why isn't this a thing?!?" and your Lux idea is totally on point!

Oh mannnn, she's fucking gorgeous! This is Lux to me - your archetype-girl-next-door-heroine, not a blabbering child. Love the hair. The outfit is perfect, looks like IronStylus' school of tasteful female design. Reminds me of Quinn's base skin in terms of how damn slick and attractive it is - - even if she is fully dressed - -, and how blissfully free of any semblance of boob plate it is. Took a peek at your tumblr, fell in love with Debonair Cait, Jade Ori and MANNN THE CASS VU!!! So sharp and slick and evil. It needs to be a skin. Such a shame that it's probably too similar thematically to Jade Fang.

The design (the braid at least) reminds me of Zelda from Hyrule Warriors. Was it inspired by her design, by any chance (also, your summoner name is Hylia, so...)?

Anyway, your Lux redesign looks absolutely wonderful. It looks exactly like something Riot would/should use for her VU.

The drawing is pretty neat but it overlaps with Quinn's design. While you tried to maintain "Demacia", I think you should have pushed more towards the light mage theme which Riot wants to enforce if they update her in the future. The same approach Riot had with Fiora's VU. Maybe a mix of translucent fabric and shiny armor as decoration. Not sure if I phrased it properly.

Old post, but holy moley, I love Lux, but this is TOO good. I would feel bad even using a skin if she looked that incredible!

Can I just pause for a moment to say how PHENOMENAL your work is? Ah, good, I can.

You took the hammer of creativity and really slammed home the nail of perfection here. Lux is a character that I not only use, but play frequently. Her splash art has always been meh to me, and her character model is clearly older. This is distinguishable by the way it sicks out as opposed to the rest of the environment. Characters with newer models (Rek'Sai, Ekko, etc.) fit in; their models flow with the background, if that makes sense.

Now I've been looking at the comments, and I'm honestly a little disappointed. This IS talent, but refined talent. Talent, much like a sword or axe, can be tempered by a forge of learning and improvement. Hard work and dedication serve as the designs, really bringing out the life and power. I'm just disappointed because one person's comment spawned such a large column of difference that really had no purpose.

Again, I'd just like to say that you are one of the best artists that I've seen, ever. Keep flowing the amazing ideas and inspiring the arts.

P.S. Yeah, me again. I actually have a question this time. Would you be interested in drawing up any concept art? I don't have a reliable way to talk back and forth at the moment, but just dropping a comment on the boards under something I've posted or simply a reply to my comment will do.
