About Blood Moon Thresh
So I've been a fan of Thresh's design for quite some time and I always look forward to seeing a new skin for him. I wasn't particularly satisfied with his first non-classic skin, but Championship Thresh was an insta-buy for me. The splash art and the in-game model were very much appealing to me. Blood Moon Thresh would have been the same, until I took a look at the model itself. The splash art is fine, I have no problem with it. The model, however, is a bit on the iffy side. The body is fine, the mask is the issue.
I know that there a design constraints when going from a 2D image to a 3D model, but there are just some things in that mask aren't quite right. The top teeth were included, not the bottom ones. The fangs are also a bit odd. Either the fangs were made too large, or an additional pair of fangs were added accidentally. In any case, it looks like the mask has two pairs of large fangs rather than two large outer fangs and two smaller small inner fangs. The eye holes are also a bit off. In the splash are they are quite a bit narrower than the model's which are quite round. Rather than looking menacing, it almost looks like he's smiling or surprised. It doesn't help that the brow is higher too, which adds more to a look of surprise rather than malice. Perhaps I'm being too nit-picky, but the mask issues broke the sale for me.
Anyone else bothered by the things I pointed out?
