About Blood Moon Thresh

So I've been a fan of Thresh's design for quite some time and I always look forward to seeing a new skin for him. I wasn't particularly satisfied with his first non-classic skin, but Championship Thresh was an insta-buy for me. The splash art and the in-game model were very much appealing to me. Blood Moon Thresh would have been the same, until I took a look at the model itself. The splash art is fine, I have no problem with it. The model, however, is a bit on the iffy side. The body is fine, the mask is the issue.

I know that there a design constraints when going from a 2D image to a 3D model, but there are just some things in that mask aren't quite right. The top teeth were included, not the bottom ones. The fangs are also a bit odd. Either the fangs were made too large, or an additional pair of fangs were added accidentally. In any case, it looks like the mask has two pairs of large fangs rather than two large outer fangs and two smaller small inner fangs. The eye holes are also a bit off. In the splash are they are quite a bit narrower than the model's which are quite round. Rather than looking menacing, it almost looks like he's smiling or surprised. It doesn't help that the brow is higher too, which adds more to a look of surprise rather than malice. Perhaps I'm being too nit-picky, but the mask issues broke the sale for me.

Anyone else bothered by the things I pointed out?

Yeah i see the issues with the skin but its not that bad seeing how the mask isn't really visible in game and you're getting the whole outfit too. But I think they should have at least made it more accurate.

You're looking at the skin head on, not top down like you would in game.

A pretty overhyped skin.

You can't see these in-game. x]

In-game the eyes look narrow enough and it's basically impossible to see even the top teeth.

Honestly in my opinion I would've preferred that Thresh received a skin in the "Scorched Earth" series. His Chain Warden get-up would be perfect for the furnance-like skins Renekton and Xerath both have. Or even Vandal Thresh, same logic applys, only that he'll look more Ghost Rider-like. summoner 14 Thresh summoner 14

Deepterror Thresh > Champioship Thresh

really I own Champioship Thresh just because its rare, otherwise its the worst Thresh skin.

I bought it. Reminded me of a Japanese oni mask. Even seeing the the model mask, I still like it. Just imagine you're heading down the lane then this face stares you down and chains ya. He's stealing your soul and enjoying it too.

I feel like they should make the splash first then make the skin based on the splash. The new splash arts are getting to a level where the skin just looks sub-par in comparison.

I really like BM thresh skin its fine, I personally don't care how the splash art looks as long as it is cool ingame. On the topic of ingame looks, i think that his ult, the box, doesn't feel right when you use it. It comes up out of the ground a little late, and i feel like im laggy when i use it... Anyone with me???
