Hey everyone, I've had this idea for a Nami skin for a while, but I was wondering what you guys think of what I have already. It's a skin based off of the Mandarin fish with armor and stylings based on samurai armor (since the Mandarin fish is native to around that region). I would really appreciate critiques on this! Thanks ahead of time!

I absolutely love the samurai feel.

Don't be afraid to use a stronger contrast from yellow to orange. A deeper red orange gradient to the tip of the tail will help add depth. I feel like the lt blue on the staff is out of place. Perhaps the indigo might fit better. I also think you may want to connect the breast plate with the shoulder guards, via chain or something like that.

I do love the colors here. Very different from what she already has, but it brings a strong warrior feel to it. The gems on the headpiece and the ring about her tail are really just such beautiful details and really shows your thought put into this :)

Anyone else think that the style, ornaments and colour theme of this concept feels more like "Pharaoh Nami" than "Samurai Nami"?

The colors are a bit bright. Tone it down some and put the darker colors closer to the feet and brighter highlights on the head and shoulders (in game top-down view). And maybe change the gold armour to red lacquer to give it more traditional samurai look.

I really like your idea! It fits with her champion without being 'obvious', and it's great that you thought about the culture around the Mandarin fish to inform the rest of the design. Personally I find it a bit hard to focus on her face which I think is because it doesn't have much contrast with her neck/fins. If there was a bit more variation in terms of light and shadow near her face it would bring it out more - however you may not want her face to be the focal point, which is fine! Just something to bear in mind :) Also, the headpiece she's wearing blends in to her head-fins because they're pretty similar colours.

The bright colours in general really work for me - if you want to add depth play more with pumping up your shadows and having a clear direction that the light's coming from. Other than that, I think it's awesome. I love the pose you've done, it looks very dynamic and has good flow. I hope my critique is helpful!
