Another Amumu Rework Idea
Hey guys it's Saddest Amumu back at it again with a stupid thing that probably no one will care about:
Another Amumu rework idea!
So my last rework was ok but I did realize that it didn't really make multiple playstyles as good as tank, so my job for myself here is it make it so that full AP, Tank, and AP Bruiser Amumu would work as well as tank.
So the problems that I want to address with Amumu is:
-Making him more useful in a teamfight without his ultimate, but still trying to make his ultimate extremely useful, much like the other recent champion reworks.
-Making AP a useful build on him rather than just going full AP.
-Making him viable to gank pre-six and making it so that when he misses his Q he isn't completely punished while ganking.
-Making his dueling slightly better.
-Also making him an actual tank.
Now a lot of these changes could break him, but I don't think that it would be all that bad because his kit is punishing.
People say that Amumu should be a beginner's jungler so I want to keep his kit relatively the same while changing it making him just better without completely trying to break him.
Now Amumu is a tank, and what is normally good for tanks? Long fights, right now Amumu does not have like any benefit to being longer in a fight rather than his W and kind of his E.
His W does percent max health and his E reduces damage slightly.
Now his recent buffs to his E help a lot, but I am still in the belief that Amumu is not really a tank his kit does not really benefit him being in battle for longer than 3 seconds really any longer than that and he doesn't really have too much of a use other than some slight damage and an occasional stun
So I want to make it so that being in battle longer benefits him.
I want to make his kit feel so similar that people like me aren't upset when we play him cough cough BBtrox
cough cough but make it feel good like Warwick's
I won't put too many numbers because I'm not a balancer and can't do much about tweaking and stuff.
So now that I've put on my ideas and my goals here's the rework idea!:
Passive - Cursed Touch
I want to make it so that it is a stacking basis making it so that the more stacks that someone has Amumu does more damage to them and takes less damage from them.
So Amumu can only apply the first stack of Cursed Touch by auto attacking, his ultimate, or his W (I will explain this later). After that his abilities apply 1 stack of Cursed Touch each.
Every stack of Cursed Touch makes it so that they do 1% less damage to Amumu and have -2 Magic Resist (Again I don't balance for the game so I can't really see what numbers would work. Please don't hurt me!).
Max stacks of Cursed Touch is your current champion level + 1 per 100 AP you have (Again numbers I'm not sure)
Now I made it like this to benefit all of Amumu's abilities and playstyles, but it could be negative for AP Amumu although his does take less damage the more AP he has ala Gragas
Q - Bandage Toss I want to keep Bandage Toss relatively the same so not many changes are coming to his Q. So the main problem with Bandage Toss is that if you miss it your ganking potential is completely gone because you have no CC. My solution to that is making it so that if you miss Bandage Toss your bandage will leave a trail across the ground that will give you a small speed boost whenever you run on it and running the full length of your bandage makes your next auto attack a micro-root. Now this will make it so that Amumu can actually gank with missing his Q makes Amumu useless when he ganks. Almost every other jungler has the ability to gank way more easily than Amumu whether it's having a speedboost or basically guaranteed CC or some amount of mobility.
W - Despair Similar to his Q (and to be honest the rest of his kit) I want to keep it similar to his current W. He still has his W dot aoe, but similar to his passive it has a stacking basis to where you gain Despair stacks for every second that Despair is active, the more stacks that you have with Despair the more % max health damage you do. At 100 stacks (That's max for the amount of Despair stacks without any AP) you will be able to apply the first stack of Cursed Touch. The more AP you get the faster you get stacks and the more stacks you can have. Despair can add more than one Cursed Touch stack.
E - Tantrum/Let Me Give You a Hug What! You mean I actually added another move to Amumu? Yes, yes I did. So I want to be able to make Amumu a little more useful in teamfights (after using his ultimate) and ganking and this is my solution. When Amumu Tantrums an enemy champion that is afflicted with Cursed Touch they are marked as Amumu's "Best Friend" while Tantrum goes on a short cooldown and is changed to "Let Me Give You a Hug". Let Me Give You a Hug damages and pulls all of Amumu's best friends towards him in a small radius. Let Me Give You a Hug has a separate cooldown than Tantrum. Tantrum won't turn into Let Me Give You A Hug if it is still on cooldown. Tantrum will also not give the physical damage resistance like it used too, but will still have the reducing the cooldown for every auto attack Amumu takes.
R - Curse of the Sad Mummy Now this is probably the biggest change in his kit. Instead of being a giant aoe stun (I know it's an entangle, but it might as well be a stun). It is a giant aoe dot sandstorm that constantly damages, slows, and applies stacks of Cursed Touch while enemies are inside it. While Amumu is inside the sandstorm his Tantrum and Let Me Give You a Hug go on reduced cooldown.
Well those are the abilities for my Amumu rework! I think that it helps with any kind of build for him (Except like crit and whatnot lmao) I have no idea what I would want to design what he would look like, like at all. The main reason for that is because in his lore he is technically not a Yordle, although I think it would be fine if he was, you literally don't know anything about Amumu other than that he's sad, and he's a mummy. You don't know if he was a Yordle, a kid pharaoh, a kid warlord, someone who was betrayed, we don't know until Riot says something. So that was my rework! Comment for any complaints! Thank you so much for reading!
