[Champion Concept] Aegis, the Chained Gladiator
This champion concept is meant for him to be a bruiser since we haven't really had a new bruiser in a while.
Lore: A boy found himself in a coliseum behind some gates in the land of Noxus. His town was ravaged by the Noxian forces and made everyone in town their prisoners. The boy's mother and father were stripped away from him a few months ago, leaving the boy alone. Two men were fighting in the coliseum ring: one large and one feeble. The crowd around them were cheering on the large one.
"How should I finish him?," the large one asked the crowd.
"Rip his head off," the crowd chanted in unison.
And just like that the feeble man's head came lose from the torso. The body fell flat on the ground in front of the large one. The crowd roared in excitement.
"Alright, who is next?" the large one asked.
The gate started to open. A guard pushed the boy into the ring. The crowd booed the boy as he was walking in scared out of his mind. The boy only had chains around his wrists because he couldn't carry any other weapon. The boy walked with his head facing towards the ground and soon saw the feeble man's corpse. The boy looked up and saw the large man towering over him.
"What is your name, boy?" the large one asked.
"A.. Arkos," the boy said nervously.
"Well, Arkos, I am the champion of this coliseum. And as champion I am the one that is to provide entertainment and protection for these good people. But since you are a boy, you won't be much entertainment," the champion said.
"You are going to let me go?" Arkos asked.
"No, I am going to kill you as slowly and painfully as possible. The crowd would love to hear a little boy's scream for a while," the champion said with a smile.
The champion lifted up his sword and shield and swung his sword at Arkos. Arkos quickly dodged and started to run away, but there was no outrunning him. The champion bashed his shield against Arkos's body. Arkos tumbled a couple feet in front of the champion. Arkos was fatigued and couldn't move properly. The champion stood over him with a smirk.
"Let's get started," the champion said.
The champion plunged his sword towards Arkos's arm. In Arkos's eyes the sword could of taken years to hit him. In that moment, Arkos regained a bunch of energy leaped into the air wrapping his chains around the man's neck. When Arkos landed, he quickly tugged the chains ripping off the champions head. The crowd was in shock. Arkos defeated the champion.
Story:
Aegis was lost in thought. He was fighting a man in the ring. He used chains on his wrists with smalls blades attached to them as his preferred weapon.
"Why do I do this?" Aegis thought as he easily evades the man's attack. "Why do I subject myself to such a way of life?"
Aegis impales the man rips out his heart. The crowd goes crazy. Aegis looks down at the fallen man.
"Is it for this? Do I like killing people?" Aegis thought.
Aegis looked back up signaling to let in five more people. As soon as the gates opened everyone rushed towards him. Three men jumped at him. Aegis dodged them and quickly threw out his chains wide and closed his arms. The three men were all dead in an instant. The other two started to run away. Aegis threw out three chains, grabbing the man and pulling him back towards Aegis. Aegis impaled the man's skull finishing him quickly. With no hesitation, Aegis starting twirling his chains above his head. He was aiming for the other man that was running. Aegis threw down his chains onto the man killing him.
"Is this really what I become? Do I really find enjoyment out of this?" Aegis thought to himself once again.
Aegis once again signaled to let the next opponents in. This time a man and a woman walked in. The man and woman stood before Aegis with a hurtful expression.
"Arkos? It's you, isn't it?" the woman asked.
"Arkos? Oh yeah, that's right. That was my original name," Aegis replied. "I haven't heard that name in a long time. Who might you be, woman?"
"She is your mother, and I am your father," the man said. "It's been at least twenty years, hasn't it my son. I am not surprised you can't recognize us."
Aegis has a look of regret on his face. His mother and father approach him.
"I don't want to do this," Aegis said.
"Don't worry, my son. We can figure another way out of this," his mother said as they both embrace Aegis.
Aegis's mother and father take out knives and swing them towards Aegis. Aegis felt their hostility and instantly impaled them both through the stomach. Aegis fell to his knees not in physical pain but emotional heartbreak.
"Aegis, you ungrateful scum. All you had to do was stay there and die," his mother said. "We clothed you and took care of you, and this is how you treat us. We gave you everything, but you couldn't even die for us.
"What do you mean?" Aegis said with tears in his eyes.
"We were promised freedom if we could take you down. Honestly, why couldn't you have just died," his mother said as she falls silent.
"What do I have to live for," Aegis thought to himself.
Suddenly the coliseum erupted with cheer. The cheers tingled Aegis's skin and filled him with excitement.
"This is what I live for. I live for the cheers and everyone chanting my name. Soon everyone will know my name," Aegis thought to himself.
Abilities:
Auto-Attacks: Aegis attacks are medium ranged like Thresh
Passive- Cripple: Every auto-attack give Aegis a stack. If Aegis gets 3 stacks, the enemy is stunned. 30 sec cooldown
Q- Binding Chains: Aegis shoots a chain and if the opponent gets hit, it impales them and slows them . The ability can be recast twice after the initial cast. If three chains are impaled on the enemy, it pulls the enemy in.
_Passive- Impale:_
For every chain the enemy is hit by this ability, the chain is stuck in the champion and slowed. 2 second slow.
Note: It is possible to be outside of the cast range of the next cast of this ability, but you can't escape the impale passive if it is already on you.
W- Bloody Shot: (I am very bad at naming things okay) Aegis shoots a chain that applies grievous wounds. It has the same cast range as Darius's W (so basically close range). Bloody Shot gives Aegis a Cripple stack.
E- Chain Scissors: Aegis throws out his chains wide, and like scissors moves them towards the middle of the cast. If the enemy is caught in the middle section of the cast they are knocked up.
R- Twirling Chaos (I don't know what is so chaotic about it, but it sounded cool): Aegis twirls his chains around his head dealing damage within the cast range. The cast range is around his auto-attack range. He can then recast creating a shock wave to knock back people wherever the player is aiming. The recast is kind of like the Gragas ult where it will knock people different directions depending on where they are in the circle.
I created this champion thinking that we need another bruiser, and I think this is a good concept to have. A medium range bruiser sounds like a pretty good idea to me. And I don't really think this is broken or OP because anyone that can get right on top of you will be able to kill you because you don't really have an escape. So Riven, Camille , etc. will counter this champ, while champs like Mordekaiser, Aatrox and Darius will have a harder time.
