Congratulations! Not only have we survived the November CCOS, we've also survived the incessant delays on my part! The results are finally here!

But first, let's announce our judges this month!

Echoing. Cannot commit to schedules. Villainous. His debut after his wonderful good neighbor reviews!

With that done, the winner of the November CCOS is...

https://media.tenor.co/images/4c3280635fa25dd13140df259eb0028a/raw

Lyra, the Flashing Sword-Witch, by Raxistaicho, with a score of 193/220! Congratulations, and hail Noxus!

In second place, Ebero, the Plague Herald, by THE RlVER KING, with a score of 182/220! Truly, a death by inches.

In third place, Khai, the Abyssal Torrent, by Candurill, with a score of 180/220! The rivers will run rampant and most certainly not red.

In fourth place, NM-8, the Shadow Stalker, by Skylarke, with a score of 179/220! Whether this is an improvement or a step backwards from recent trends is a mystery to the ages.

In fifth place, Or'En, the Cosmic Traveller, by Osamu Tezuka, with a score of 178/220! Naturally, he's not gonna jungle.

And if you didn't place, don't sweat it - competition was actually pretty tough this month. I mean, it's tough every month, but this month was particularly tough. Or I was too lenient. One of the two.

My scoresheet is here. Villainous' scoresheet is here. It's late, so I might not be able to answer questions immediately, but I'll do my best tomorrow at least. Villainous may be around to answer questions as well.

I'll try to have the next CCOS up tomorrow with a very clear notice that you need to link your good neighbor reviews to have them count. If you're interested in judging, hit me up at "[email protected]", since we can always use more viewpoints here.

Remember not to take it personally if you got a low score! I don't have anything out against you (unless you're LookAStar - LISTEN to your critics, damn it), and I'm sure Villainous doesn't either (I think). We're trying to help you improve, and we're hoping you come back next month even better.

I hope to see you again next month!

Hey firstly, I'd like to apologize to Echoing and Villainous, moreso to the former. I let my impatience get the better of me and said a few things that were ungrateful to the work that they put into this contest. I also failed to look at it in context as, yes, just an Internet contest on some video game board. I've always been a person that operates on a strict schedule, and I can be a dick when others don't share my views on how and when things should be done, so I would apologize for that.

I'm equal parts honored and surprised to have placed to high! This is a marked improvement over last month's performance (Viatus sad face :( ). I'd agree with most of what was said, although I think Echoing you perhaps overjudged Ebero's combo output and lane presence. He lacks mobility or up-front crowd control and thus suffers against champions with reliable gapclosers. While his damage output can oftentimes more than make up for that, I just wanted to get my thoughts out there; reading the other reviews I feel I was graded down more harshly in that respect in comparison, but it's water under the bridge now and I am happy with the result. His combos are what make him special, and his damage falls off when enemies step outside of a W and succeed at dodging his Q's. Otherwise, essentially everything else I agreed with. Both of you noted the thematic hiccup with his ultimate, which I can understand, but I really wanted to sell this big final hour moment for Plagued victims. Villainous, your comments on how I should have played up more a slow-acting infection was also noted, you are spot on. One of his original kits involved him doing just that - he could infect people and each spell would inflict a new symptom on the infection, and the ult would trigger it, causing the poor target to kind of implode from all these crazy debuffs and damage effects. it was fun, but not for the poor soul who got detonated. However, I am always looking to improve past concepts (I am currently revamping Viatus and looking to touch up on Soz'rath again), so thank you for the ideas!

I am glad you enjoyed the lore, I worked very hard on it. I am currently unsure whether I will continue the series or not. I'm fairly certain I linked other works of mine on the previous results thread.

Nonetheless, congrats to Raxistaicho, Candurill, Skylarke, and Osamu Tezuka, you guys were awesome! I would also like to congratulate everyone who simply had the cojones to enter a contest such as this. Making champions is hard, and we are all winners in some small part simply for taking the initiative to do so. I wish everyone the best of luck in this month's contest!

I had considered judging, because I have 3-4 unfinished concepts I'm still unsure about, but I think I may be able to finish one to enter. Is it possible to enter as a judge during the entrance phase, should my plans fall apart? Or should I claim a spot ASAP?

EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot. Echoing, the last couple of times I noticed you have been spelling my name like RlVER KING, when it is RlVER KlNG - the second I in 'King" is also a lowercase L as it is in RlVER. It's actually no big deal and you can spell it like RIVER KING with two I's instead if that makes it easier. Also, what do you mean by 'death by inches?'

Happy to be in the top five again :) Would have loved to be first place, but one cannot have everything they want. ^^ Thanks for the feedback and I'll try to improve my work in the future :D

I'm very curious to what you mean specifically with "classic Candurill". I've seen you use similar terms before when referring to my concepts, but I can't remember it actually being clarified what it is that is so typically "me". Is it positive? Is it negative? Is it something I should work on? I'd really like to get better at creating concepts so please tell me :D

On a different note, I don't think I'm entering the CCOS of december. I'm skipping a month because i do not have a concept sufficiently worked out to the point where i'm comfortable with posting it. Maybe I'll have a inspiration explosion somewhere this week, but I think its best if i work out my existing ideas first, in stead of plowing through a concept just to make the deadline this month. :) Ofcourse I'd be happy to give feedback on entrants :) Maybe even judge. If I have the time.

When will December be posted?

It's kinda interesting just how vastly differing our judgements were on some characters.

By the way, just as a heads up for everyone, the totals on my score sheet include the Good Neighbour bonus, while they're not included in the totals for Echoing's.

Congrats to the winners, I've been stalking this month's entrees a little bit and I love your guy's ingenuity and passion with creating new content concepts :P

I'm not sure how I even overlooked those very apparent weaknesses in my kit. I spent so long thinking it was somehow OP each time I glanced over the numbers, and that I should keep nerfing it to allow for effective counterplay. However, the opposite was true, and ended up going waaay too far with the edits - like going after a fly with a bazooka. That's what I get for looking at the same kit for too long lol.

I'm still glad the issues are in writing - now I feel like going back and fixing it for my own sake. Thx!

Edit: I added an additional CC mechanic to Marion's W to better serve her initiation issues, and fixed DPS ratios to make her more effective as a bruiser type. Tank was a bad word for it.

Hmmm, would seem I got carried away in trying to fit too many ideas into one thing, and ended up with neither of the main points I wanted to convey...

Well all things considered I'm reasonably pleased, it was my first time even attempting something of this scale (beyond mindless daydreaming), and it's certainly given me a lot to consider for the future (I intend to try again ^^).

Thanks for all your work Echo and Villan, much obliged!

I'll accept that score. Kinda bummed that I didn't make it into the finals, but this is only my second CCOS. Congrats to Raxi and River King, especially Raxi. You go man.

In other news...I've already got my champ concept idea for next month up (spoilers?), Hush, and I could really use a bit more critique than I already have...

THAT BEING SAID! If you've got a busy schedule or a champion to make don't spend time giving me help on him; other things should take priority. Anywho, congrats again to all you who placed in the top five. Those were some great concepts, and hopefully next (or should I say THIS) month I'll get to see even more! Best of luck to you all on the Fields of Justice, and as always; Stay Frosty.

Echoing, you really can't commit to the schedules huh? :d

For real though, when is december CCOS coming? I have a concept that I am really proud to present soon. :d

I know the entries for December CCOS are probably just around the corner, but I'm having a helluva time deciding which one of my concepts to use for it. Thoughts?

I really wish I could have entered my concept with the changes and clarifications I have now. I would've gotten a much higher score :(

What does "Implementation" mean in terms of scoring?

fugertech12/16/2016, 7:45:33 PM1 votes

Getting critique is hard guiz.

Congrats to the winners!

Echoing and Villainous, I appreciate the feedback. I award you guys a Good Neighbor score of 9.5 out of 10. :P

You guys have also made it quite clear to me that designing kits is not my strong suit! XD

Even so, I'll continue to work on my two champ concepts and hope that thematically, artistically, and narratively(?) they have potential and can be iconic to League. They resonate with me so strongly that I have to get Riot's attention. I just gotta git gud first, lmao.

I'm tempted to be a judge for the December CCOS.
