Hi Guys, This is my first real "Board Post" so I'm sorry if there are any unwritten rules that people that use the forms use that if you are an onlooker you would not notice.

Recently, I hit 200k Mastery Points on a champ and 125k Mastery Points on Fiora, Fiora being level 7. Being level 7 and as of right now "Maxing" out a champion is cool because not many people can obtain level 7, but you can have level 7 at 50k xp or 2 Million XP (Cough Annie Bot) and there is no way to tell how much XP someone has unless you check their profile.

What I was thinking was maybe once you hit a certain level once obtaining Level 7 Mastery of a champ, you then could qualify for other things:

As of right now:

Fiora Level 1 (0-1800): Nothing added Fiora Level 2 (1800-6000): Nothing added Fiora Level 3 (6000-12600): Nothing added Fiora Level 4(12600-21600): Basic Emote, Loading Screen Badge, Screen Badge Fiora Level 5 (21600+): Upgraded Red Emote, Loading Screen Badge, Screen Badge Fiora Level 6 (Level 5+ 2 Rank Badges): Upgraded Purple Emote, Loading Screen Badge, Screen Badge Fiora Level 7 (Level 6 + 3 Rank Badges): Upgraded Blue Emote, Loading Screen Badge, Screen Badge

My Idea:

Fiora Level 1 (0-1800): Nothing added Fiora Level 2 (1800-6000): Nothing added Fiora Level 3 (6000-12600): Nothing added Fiora Level 4(12600-21600): Basic Emote, Loading Screen Badge, Screen Badge Fiora Level 5 (21600+): Upgraded Red Emote, Loading Screen Badge, Screen Badge Fiora Level 6 (Level 5+ 2 Rank Badges): Upgraded Purple Emote, Loading Screen Badge, Screen Badge Fiora Level 7 (Level 6 + 3 Rank Badges): Upgraded Blue Emote, Loading Screen Badge, Screen Badge

Bonuses

Fiora Level 7 (Minimum of 100k XP): Unlocked Basic Champion Icon (Like literally just the basic splash art of a champ)

Fiora Level 7 (Minimum of 250k XP): Unlock Tier 2 Icon (Lowest Tier Skin Icon) >Once unlocked it becomes different per each champ >>This Option is more exclusive for the older champions, but after time be released to new champions as on release there only tends to be one skin

Fiora Level 7 (Minimum of 500k XP): Unlock Tier 3 Icon (Second Tier Skin Icon)

Fiora Level 7 (Minimum of 1Million XP): Unlock Tier 4 Icon (Most Expensive Skin Icon)+ Mastery Skin, a skin only obtainable once you get 1Million XP+ Notification to all friends online: "[Name] Has Achieved 1 Million Experience playing [Champ]"

Fiora Level 7 (Minimum of 1.5 Million XP): Unlock Exclusive Champion Ward

Example:

  • Fiora Ward will wave her sword in a lunge motion
  • Rammus Ward will spin in place
  • Zed Ward will clone and reappear
  • Ashe Ward will send arrows around in a circle where there is vision Ect.

Idea for the Icon, Basing it off Fiora as I am a Fiora main:

Level 7, 100k XP > Basic Fiora Icon Level 7, 250k XP > Royal Guard Fiora Icon Level 7, 500k XP > Pool Party Fiora Icon (As there already is a Project Icon) Level 7, 1M XP > New Designed Exclusive Fiora Icon

>Once receiving a higher tier Icon, you still have the other Icons too, so you have the option to pick between different skin icons as people have personal preference to their favorite skin.

As level 5 you can have as much xp as you want, and you are not required to level up to level 7, you are not awarded these rewarded until you level up to 7. After that you still will be awarded everything you should have up to your Tier. 

Hopefully you guys kind of understand what I am saying, It all kind of works out in my head <3

I personally see it more of as an accomplishment sort of thing, that they should do this for the most committed of players that commit TONS of time to their game. 2 Million XP, stating every SINGLE game is 2k Xp, is still 1000 games they have to play, but in reality its a 50/50 for each game you play, where if you win you obtain betweem 1,300-1,750 xp and a loss is about ~100 xp so every two games is on average ~800xp per game, or 2500 games to hit 2 Million XP

At an average of half hour a game, thats 1250 hours logged or 52 days of gameplay logged as that specific champ. I'm sure league wants to make money, but for someone that logged 52 days of gameplay on a single champ, they should be at least awarded a free $10 skin and a $4 icon...

Maybe the Kindred ward could be a mini Wolf floating around, kinda like the Ori ball idea. I really hope they do something more meaningful with the mastery system in general though. It's sooooo lack luster.

I think this would be pretty cool, but maybe switch the ward reward with the master icon (so the 1 mil reward and 1.5 mil switch), but that's the only changes I would make to this. Even if these specific things weren't added, it would still be great to get some kind of reward with immense amounts of mastery points. Also since it might make it easier on Riot if we shared our ward skin ideas, I would say for OriannaOrianna , it could be Orianna's ball just bobbing up and down were the ward would be.

Yeah this would be awesome, but you have to think realistically. There are over 130 champions in the game. Look at the rate Riot makes skins now, and then imagine them trying to pump out 130 skins with no direct financial return on their efforts. I think the themed wards you mentioned are a better idea, but I still don't think a unique ward per champion would work - maybe one for each class of champion, like assassin wards, mage wards, etc. Icons are also great because they don't take as much time to develop.

I really like the champion specific things though, because you should be awarded for the champion that you are mastering, also i'm sure you would kinda get mad if you play Top Laner's only, and then you get a Soraka Chrome, that would more or less make me mad...

Its like of like mystery skins, yea its nice being surprised, but at this point i have FIVE poppy skins and ive never played poppy

I mean I like this kind of rewards. But this just seem too "bot" like. What I mean by that is it would make it much more easier for people to bot and use other 3rd party programs to basically cheat the system. Granted they are trying to get rid of bots, but as soon as they give rid of one at least 5 more are up and running! Considering botting is a problem now, I can see this just making more out of it.

Then of course what about people who have all the skins. Like if you own all the low tier skins what's the compensation if you own all of it? Same about the high tier skins (which isn't really a lot) what is the compensation of getting a reward you can't get?

Just some things I feel needs to be worked out on. Awesome idea!

Those wards would be way too expensive. They'd require a lot of development and there'd only be 10 people in the world using each ward. It's a nice idea, but not realistic or profitable for Riot. They are a company, not a charity.

I was thinking about this, as there is a TON of champions and looking over everything it looks massive, but Four of the Five icons are already made, all you would have to do is get the icon from the skin which is a simple resize.

As for the skin/wards I was thinking more of community based update, where everyone comes together and says what they want to see and the best topics are made, so like I said about the rammus ward, if that ward is the one the community chooses then all riot has to do is develop that type of ward, and for the skins, people can submit their ideas or designs and the same thing happens where the community selects an idea that they think is best and riot would implement it so then they don't have to think of ideas, brain storm and think about if the community would approve ect ect.

Above I did some quick math, but those 10 people per server to get 2m XP would have to log 52 days on that specific champ. Even if it is ONE person, Riot should award him for being that committed to a single champion

Brainstorming isn't the main thing. I mean I don't know much about programming but coming up with the idea is probably 1/10th of the work. If every champion got their own unique ward that would be 130 new wards. 130! That'd triple the amount of wards currently in the game.

It's just not realistic. Riot's much better off developing something that actually meaningfully contributes to the game or something that they could earn money off. Not something that 10 people total would use.

It would be an insane amount of developing for a very small thing. Just look at it this way. Riot releases around 22 ward skins each year right? (It's usually one per patch and last season had 22 patches. ) This would require them to make five times the amount of wards they usually release each year. And they'd do that for about 500 players. Some champions don't even have anyone with 1.5m mastery. For just one small function. It's just not a viable idea.

Sure, Riot should award something for being committed to a champ, but making an entire ward for them that they don't even earn anything from? That's not realistic. It's not realistic at all. An exclusive icon? Sure. An exclusive ward? Not even close to being realistic.

Level 10 you unlock the ability to unlock a skin after paying RP, something like an "Ascended" skin

or even unlocking chroma packs for any skin on that champion, because that's just fucking recolors and one can be done by an amatuer in an hour... so like... i'd imagine a team of professionals could bang the whole roster out in two days.

I do agree with your general argument, I got level 7 with thresh a couple weeks ago and now the excitement/incentive to earn higher letter grades is kinda gone (besides doing well to win the game) but I think what you have planned out may be more than Rito is willing to put time into. Some sort of additional recognition albeit on a smaller scale would be cool if they aren't going to keep adding mastery levels.Thresh

I stated that its would take time but after every skin is added for the champ they will put the additional icons, because to make an icon its not that hard to be honest.

oh, your a fiora main? I have a lot of questions for YOu ;-;. Do you know any combos that will poke in laning phase or any tips in laning phase? I'm having a lot of troubles, some with her ult, some with her combos, and a lot with early game D:.

What I love doing is Dashing (Q) Towards my opponent, Using my W to slow them, followed with E, then dashing at their other vital and slowly follow them until they flash, or die.

As for ult, I actually flash sometimes if I have to during the ult to hit the last vital

Its a weird build, but I go

(1/2) Hydra=/= Black Cleaver (Depending on if they build tank)

(1/2) Black Cleaver=/= Hydra

(3) Shiv

(4/5) Infinity edge/ BT (Depending if I need lifesteal or poke first)

(4/5) Blood thirster/ IE

I love the Idea but that would mean A TON of work for every extra champion, so doubt Riot will do it. I think it would be kinda cool to show off how many points you have in loading screen. Maybe after you get a 100k you have the option to display that because I Do agree that for extra points you should be allowed to do extra things.

This is amazing but like someone said earlier it will be a challenge because it is too many free items, I personally think there is no need for a ward or skin because too much free items, maybe remove the actual skin idea and keep the ward skin and summoner icon. Personally I love this idea but it needs a lot more thought and tweaks before riot will consider it.

I think this would be a good idea, because Riot could take this as a chance to make skins made exclusively for hyping your reward system. Moving on, I'm a Trist main so I could see this: 100K - Default Tristana 250K - Riot Girl Tristana 500K - Rocket Girl Tristana, and its loading screen appearance would change depending on which Rocket Girl Tristana Chroma you're using. 1M - Dragon Trainer Tristana 1.5M - Firefighter Tristana Ward, with Boomer in full view with its watery Q ever-activated until it disappears. When it disappears, it makes a show of "exploding" in a water shower before the water seeps into the ground. I would have had Firefighter be 1M, but since Riggle is already a Ward it only fit that Firefighter was the best choice.

I always did think more basic cosmetics should be unlockable for free, through player achievement or IP expenditure. Even if by necessity it wouldn't be as impressive as the stuff you get with RP.

While this is a cool idea, I think that A: That is a ton of resources that would need to be diverted to creating new stuff [which would be given away for free,] and B: This system sort of alienates casual players in favor of people who have time to play 10+ games a day to get that kind of experience on a champion

One of the big problems for older players or long-time one trick ponies, is that they have so much experience with these champions, but not a lot to prove their worth, or to be recognized for their skillz. I think this is a great idea to help the community.
