Aravel, The Iron Sky Warrior
Stats: Health - 30% Magic - 80% Attack - 80% Difficulty - 80%
Class: Primary - Fighter Secondary - Mage
Abilities: Passive - Evasive Maneuvers While being chased, Aravel can use evasive actions to avoid all attacks, including melee ultimates. Once these maneuvers are performed, he gains additional attack damage and attack speed. While these maneuvers are active, all incoming attacks are unable to target Aravel and all homing projectiles moving towards Aravel will be led off course, changing them into projectiles that will impact walls or any other units of both allies and enemies. You can only use one evasive maneuver for each enemy pursuer. -High Yo-Yo, When an enemy is close to you on your back, you perform a loop that will fly you behind your enemy. This is activated by clicking on the area directly behind your pursuer. -Barrel Roll By clicking further from your position, your aircraft performs a barrel roll (The actual barrel, not the one from Starfox 64) -90 Degree Lag Displacement Roll By clicking to either side of your position, Aravel makes a 90 Degree turn to a position much further from your position
First Ability - Machine Gun When active, Aravel rapidly fires his machine gun at a target that deals physical damage that increases as long as it keeps hitting its target (Unlike Corki's Gatling Gun, Aravel's machine gun only focuses on one target he is attacking with basic attacks). This attack will last for 6 seconds or until the target moves out of range of his basic attacks.
Second Ability - Aileron Roll When activated, Aravel spins his aircraft while moving, deflecting all incoming projectiles including homing attacks, but not ultimate attacks. Each projectile deflected will turn into projectiles that will damage the first unit it comes across including allies, or crash in large terrain.
Third Ability - Fighter Warhead Missiles When active, Aravel fires a missile that will deal AOE magic damage to the first target it hits. Just like Corki's Missile Barrage, it has an ammunition system but can only load up to two. The ability's activation pattern fires from each wing. Aravel can also lock on to a target by using basic attacks. Aravel will have to keep close and remain targeting the enemy for 3 seconds in order for his missile to successfully lock on. These missiles can still be blocked by other enemy units or large terrain. The missiles are unable to make sharp turns so they can be dodged by moving side ways.
- Dog Fight Mode While in Dog Fight Mode, Aravel's Fighter Warhead Missiles will convert into four warhead missiles that will lock onto to four enemy champions in front of him at once, including the Dog Fight Target but they will still be blocked by untargeted enemies or large terrain.
Ultimate - Dog Fight Mode This can only be active while chasing the closest enemy who is running away from Aravel. Once active, for 6 seconds, Aravel will continue chasing his enemy without the need to click on any position. To keep up with his target, Aravel locks his movement speed to the same amount of his target's maximum movement speed. If the target has less movement speed than Aravel, then Aravel will lock into his maximum movement speed instead. Aravel has to be careful not to collide with large terrain and other walls. The more movement speed he has, the more true damage he will take and the longer the stun upon impact.
Special Passive 1 - Aerial Warfare All airborne enemies and allies (Especially Corki) will be granted additional attack and ability power when fighting near Aravel.
Special Passive 2 - Screaming Yipsnakes (While fighting with Corki) "Death from Above"
Team Play: Works Well Against -
- Nocturne When Nocturne uses his ultimate, Aravel can use his evasive maneuvers to avoid his attacks if he uses his maneuvers at the right moment.
- Sion Due to Unstoppable Onslaught's lack or turning controls, Aravel can easily dodge the impact with his evasive maneuvers. When Sion uses Unstoppable Onslaught to run from fights, Aravel uses Dog Fight Mode to keep up with the runner to continue attacking.
- Master Yi Master Yi's attacks, especially alpha strike can be evaded with Aravel's evasive maneuvers. If Master Yi uses Highlander to run, Aravel can use Dog Fight Mode to keep up with Master Yi as best as he could.
Works Well With -
- Zilean Chasing enemies with Dog Fight Mode can be buffed by Zilean's Time Warp to help Aravel's Dog Fight Mode keep up with his target.
- Kayle Because Dog Fight Mode can risk leading Aravel into flying behind enemy lines, Kayle can use Intervention to shield Aravel from other attackers while he pursues his target
- Corki By using Gatling Gun to penetrate armor, Aravel's Machine Gun can deal even more damage against the armor penetrated target. Corki's Phosphorus Bomb can help Aravel pursue revealed targets with Dog Fight Mode.
Struggles Against -
- Azir Emperor's Divide would block Dog Fight Mode and both stun and damage Aravel, leaving him open for incoming attacks
- Anivia Anivia can form a wall that will also block Aravel's Dog Fight Mode, stunning and deal damage to him and leave him open for incoming enemy attacks.
- Twitch Aravel will lose track of Twitch when using Dog Fight Mode once Twitch vanishes. Aravel will then be left continuing to move forward for 2 seconds.
Tips: Playing as Aravel -
- Dog Fight Mode has a big risk of leading you behind enemy lines
- Using evasive maneuvers requires good timing. Try dodging a lot of enemy abilities at once so your team can move in and attack.
- Your evasive maneuvers can lure enemy pursuers behind ally lines so try having these enemies chase you like bait for your teammates to perform a surprise attack
Playing against Aravel -
- When Aravel chases you with Dog Fight Mode, try luring him near turrets or your teammates hiding in brushes for a surprise attack.
- Aravel isn't safe to use Dog Fight mode in the Jungle due to large terrain. Try using terrain warp abilities such as flash to stop Aravel's Dog Fight pursuit and evade his attacks.
- Once Aravel collides into a wall while using Dog Fight Mode, he is left completely vulnerable so focus your attack on him once he makes impact.
Lore: Aravel use to be one of the members of the Yipsnake Squadron along with Corki until he was forced into retirement due to the agreement of forming the League of Legends. In his time in the squadron, he was known to being one of the most untouchable ace pilots ever existed in the skies. He's manage to dodge hundreds of rival ace pilots and counter attacking many more. This has helped his fellow ace pilot, Corki to go behind enemy lines a lot easier. These two have always saved each other and other squadron members from hot zones. There were battles where none of the squadron members were shot down because of Aravel and Corki's efforts into keeping them safe behind the enemy lines.
After his forced retirement, Aravel was left unemployed. Ace Piloting had been his only profession. He doesn't even have a hobby. Unlike Corki, he's not very bright when it comes to mechanics. Because of this, Aravel began to drink in bars, getting into fights, going to jail three times, and has finally been left homeless. He could have been left with nothing until one day, Corki and Heimerdinger were experimenting with an advanced Hextech aircraft capable of faster traveling and they wanted Aravel to test out this advanced aircraft because of his well known skills in fast pace aerial warfare. Normally, it would be Corki who would test flight this machine but locations of where to test it would be complicated for yordle scientists to keep track of the aircraft from the ground. They wanted another pilot to test the aircraft while Corki supervises. Aravel sees this as an opportunity to get back his iron wings and become the Iron Sky Warrior he once was before his forced retirement. He was disappointed to see that he would only be helping Corki test flight aircraft but was surprised to see that this aircraft is going to be tested in the League of Legends which means going back to the good old days as an Ace Pilot only this time, he's going to use his skills against the best champions ever to be fought. His favorite ones are those who can fly.
