@Riot, Here's an idea for Vladimir's rework

Goal of this kit is to bring down the toxicity in his kit and make his early power less oppressive. (Ratios/Damage specifics are not in because I want to see if you guys like the ideas first)

His current kit has little counterplay other than keeping your distance, which is unhealthy. His Q and E are just free sustain. His R is a point and click from a very safe distance. His W is the only ability that actually puts him in some danger since it affects melee range. He needs more ways for his opponents to fight him. Take a look!

P – Hemoplague – Vladimir’s blood contains a virus that causes flesh to decay at an alarming rate. All of Vladimir’s abilities reduce enemy champion’s Magic Resist and Armor by a flat amount scaling with level. This effect only stacks 2 times per enemy champion. Vladimir collects pints of blood for each enemy unit death around him, and for every Transfusion hit. He receives only 5 blood pints each enemy minion death and 20 for each Transfusion. Each pint of blood collected heals Vladimir for 2 health which scales with level. This passive caps at 200 blood pints. Vladimir can use this collected blood to empower his abilities. His pint count decreases 5 pints per second after 4 seconds of leaving combat.

Q – Transfusion – This ability just basically becomes a skillshot. Vladimir fires a bolt of his own blood at an enemy unit. If it hits an enemy successfully, the bolt returns back to him along with the victim’s blood. Vladimir is then healed a portion of the damage and he gains 20 pints of blood. At 100 pints of blood, the ability fires three bolts of blood in a cone and each bolt will deal a portion of the damage as bonus damage over time. Damage and heal are not increased. This ability will cost Vladimir 100 pints of blood for each empowered use. W – Sanquine Pool – Remains the same. It’s balanced. Except…. At 100 pints of blood, for each second an enemy champion is slowed by Sanquine Pool, the next Transfusion deals increased damage up to a cap.

E- Blood Work – (Very similar to Tides of Blood, but tweaked) He no longer gains increased health regen per cast. Vladimir releases waves of blood around him in four directions. Each cast will cost 10 pints of blood, increased with level. For each time a wave hits an enemy champion, he gains a small amount of movement speed increasing each cast, up to four. This boost decays after 2 seconds. At 100 pints, the movement speed is increased.

R – Infection – This is similar to Swain’s ultimate and Renekton’s, but I think it works well with this kit. Vladimir unleashes his thirst for fresh blood. In a large zone around him, he begins to pull blood from nearby enemies, dealing a small amount of damage every second. His pint count increases by 5 every second as long as he is hitting enemy champions. His blood then begins to boil and all enemies hit by this zone feel the effect of his virus drastically increased and they are dealt a flat amount of magic damage after 5 seconds. His ultimate HAS to hit enemy champions to fuel his pint count. The burst at the end remains the same as his previous ult, but his other abilities are able to be empowered to increase his burst.

Let me know if you have any ideas/questions.

Okay, aside from this being the first rework here that looks like someone actually thought about what Vladimir needs, should have and what is healthy for the game (yes, this is a compliment), this kit is very similar to what Renekton has (Pints of Blood = Fury). I'm not saying that this has to be a bad thing, just pointing it out.

I have two questions regarding the passive:

  1. Why does it lower armor?
  2. Why does it only stack up 2 times?

Vladimir is not really going to deal much physical damage and that the passive only stacks up twice chould lead to very explosive gameplay which kinda contrasts the rest of his kit. Vladimir is all about slowly killing people and in order for his passive to be meaningful he has to get some heavy AR and MR reduction with only 2 stacks which would turn him more into a 2 hit burst champion. My advice would be to let the scaling on his passive be less per stack but more stacks in general. Vladimir wants to stay in a fight for a long time (which you indicated with the gamplay of his ultimate). For this i would also give his E a small damage increasing component so that he has a bit more reason to stick to a target than just "i run faster" (which makes for a nice disengage tool, minding that he has no mobility. Here is where one can see that you put a lot of thought into it).

Thanks for the compliment. :)

Good points though. The armor shred was intended for his allies during a team right, but I do see what you mean.

I'm glad you like the passive. I know it's similar to Renekton/Aatrox, but I think it really fits his theme. He'll be controlling blood. His scaling does definitely need to be tweaked for sure. Mine is just a base idea.

As for his E, i actually intended the damage increase, i just didn't type it. So good catch.

Two stacks of his passive MR reduction wouldn't give him too much of an advantage because i wouldn't see it reducing any mire than maybe 5 or 10 MR per stack, but I could be wrong.
