I'm.....disappointed.

The Vlad update...

You didn't change anything. You added a speed buff to the Q and put a slow on his E, and a heal on his ult. His playstyle is the exact same. THE EXACT SAME.

I mean...i'll still play him and love it but....i was expecting at least a new passive.

Yes he is awesome, but his kit has little counterplay. A good Vlad is very tough for any champion to beat.

The update did nothing to fix it. He's still very tough to lane against...let alone teamfight.

Frankly, I'm of the opposite point of view.

I don't think they made it so that Vlad still has the same lack of counterplay.

I think he has much more counterplay.

So much in fact, that he won't be able to reliably use his abilities on anyone good.

I think he's going to be unreliable. Which means he's bad.

It's like Illaoi. Her damage is so unreliable that she sucks unless her numbers are insane.

So as a vlad player you aren't happy that they updated him gave him new and more fun skills while keeping him just the way you liked? Sigh you aren't a vlad player that's for sure.

Only thing to really complain about is that there isn't as much immediate sustain like what he currently has with WotA aside from that it's a wonderful rework.

And counterplay-wise there's a ton in it, stop being blind and look.

Plus now that spellvamp items have been taken out of the game, I expected some sort of compensation for such a champ that relies so heavily on sustaining. As things stand we're seeing a mage with no poke, weaker waveclear, weaker sustain, weaker harass, and maybe a bit of a stronger burst depending how much his max charged E does.

This is actually entirely wrong. The old Vladimir would poke, hide, poke, hide, poke in lane. His Q damage and heal has been reduced to where you rely on getting the enhancement and using it ASAP in order to get real healing, so Vlad has to really work for big healing. This in itself is a play style change.

The one thing that dissapoints me is that an ability that can cost up to 10% of his max hp is blocked by minions.

The changes only delay his dueling power. I agree with critmaster. Vlad will be hit and run, just like he is now. He's still resourceless. You can say his new Q will allow windows, but Vlad can freely cast Q all day and the enhanced one will force his opponent to back off, losing Cs. The speed boost will also fuck over any non mobile champion, pushing them even further off the game.

The new E, sure it can be dodged, but it's the same ability. It just has to charge now.

The passive is still boring. Build one, get the other. No interaction, and no way to counter it.

??? dude vlad's was already fkin awesome. we should just thanks the skies they didn't add some retarded minigames or make the q a skillshot

I am very excited, this allows him to wreak even more havoc. his ult heals him, his e damages him but is kinda like sion w which harms you to reap massive rewards, with the new rocket belt item he is gonna be a fun one, charge up, rocket boost, ult q pool and then run out, seems fun.

The point was to enhance his playstyle and its distinctiveness, not significantly change his ultimate gameplay goals.

Personally, I think the updated Vlad is fucking awesome compared to Live Vlad

Personally I like it when they retain fundamental playstyle / feel when reworking champs. Kit updates are usually meant for relevancy/balance

I wish Vlad had old Karma's passive, it would give him more risk/reward for going low health like Mundo.

Evewynn4/19/2016, 9:26:32 PM1 votes

it would be better if his q only stacked on champ hits. At least that way the enemy could just back off after being hit too much before it wears off.

Now it's just gold card denial and harder zoning since he will likely close the gap to q again after getting the move speed.

Let's at least see how it all pans out, but hopefully it turns out better than it looks. Still seems pretty binary (oppressive when ahead, negligible when behind)

Will vlad still be able to sustain without spell vamp? Not sure about what changed in his kit to remedy that.

I was hoping for a new splash/texture update cus his base model is very static, and could look a bit more fluid. It's also a very old model. I think blood lord vlad does a good job of improving his model.
