Permanent Warding?

I always liked the support role, and I started thinking about how powerful it would be to have permanent wards on the map. Does anyone see room for this in the game, and if so, how powerful should it be?

I have an idea of how it would work, but maybe some opinions first?

I honestly don't think it's a good idea. Current wards have both an up-side and down-side. With the permanent wards, both teams will have permanent vision over the entire map at some point and ganking won't be a thing anymore. A good thought, though.

Hi, support Shaco main here.

Personally, I think having the permanency of the Vision Ward (i.e. its infinite duration) is awesome. Coupled with True Sight, the Vision Ward feels unique and special.

I wish Riot would apply this kind of design to wards to give us a larger variety of wards, thus making the vision game even more dynamic.

For example, I'd like to see what I call the Sentry Ward. It costs 75g like the Pink, but it grants True Sight in a cone around it, with the cone rotating. It would be visible to enemies, but is indestructible for it's duration. The idea is that it counters / deters stealthed champs and gankers in general, but has built in counterplay - you don't need a special item to interact with it. You can skirt it's vision range, run by it if you're quick enough, opt for a different gank route, or outright disable it for a few seconds.

Here's a nice mockup of it and some other ward ideas I had, including a slightly altered Vision Ward that I call the Beholder (points if you get the reference!)

What's your idea?

Maybe each team gets one Perma-Ward, which spawns right in front of the Nexus (front being the side facing mid-lane). Allied champions can pick up the Perma-Ward by walking over it and drop it by left-clicking when they are standing where they want to drop it. Once they drop it, the Perma-Ward turns invisible for five minutes, but can be found by the Sweeping Lens. It stays invisible for five minutes, after which it becomes visible again, even through grass. At any time, an ally can walk back over it to move it again, and can drop it again by left clicking to drop it where they are standing. If an enemy steps on it while it is visible, or, visible or not, if an enemy uses an ability that damages the area that the Perma-Ward is in, it gets teleported back to its spawn point in front of the Nexus. If an ally carrying the Perma-Ward is killed, the Perma-Ward teleports back to its spawn point in front of the Nexus. I'd also suggest that there be a "Carrying" penalty that decreases the carrier's movement speed or something like that as well as maybe an indicator over their heads telling both teams who's carrying the Perma-Ward until they drop it. Can't decide on a good range of vision it should offer.
