Lui, The Stolen Hero

Hello Summoners! I have really been wanting to have a marksman who really expresses the importance of the kiting mechanic, even more than Draven 's Q. Also, there has never been an ADC who has an AoE as their ultimate (with the exception of Kindred ). I wanted an ADC who has their ultimate that can output damage and be similarly devastating like Fiddlesticks , yet, still have a nice mixture of AD and AP like Corki so that it is hard to build against. This is just a concept, rough draft idea of the kind of Champion I dream to have in the Rift someday, but I really put my heart and passion into it. As you can see, I not only put all the abilities with some detail, but I also tried to give this Champion some life by giving him a story and a personality, which also involves and gives deeper insight to my all-time favorite marksman, Caitlyn and favorite lore of TwistedFate . Please tell me what you think, what still needs to be worked on, and whither or not this will be a good idea to have as our next Marksman to come!

Lui, The Stolen Hero Marksmen, Assassin

Lore: Lui is a very skillful thief who was the leader of one of the largest bandit groups in Piltover. Lui and his crew saw the Mayor alone one night and mugged him of all his belongings, including a wrapped gift addressed to some girl, with "Happy 14th Birthday" at the bottom. Inside, it was the most masterfully crafted revolver Lui has ever seen, and he noticed that on the hilt was engraved "Seeker". That night, he got a report from one of the crew that the members who were with him earlier got tracked down and sniped. He immediately fled to Demacia, but on the way there, he had a near-death encounter with a mysterious gambler, who recognized the hextech gun and offered to tell him how to use it, if he were to look at it. Once Lui handed Seeker over, the man tipped back his hat and made a smug laugh, pulling one of the Aces he apparently always has stuck in the golden flap of his hat, and held it to Lui's neck. Lui nonchalantly back-handed the card away and held up the rest of the gambler's deck and smiled. In shock, the Card Master snatched the deck out of Lui's hand and tossed him back the gun. He then immediately fanned the deck of cards around him and vanished. Lui picked up the unintentionally abandoned Ace off the ground and noticed it appeared to be two cards stuck together. After pulling them apart, they seem to be more cards stuck together. Lui started to feel a powerful energy and closed his eyes. He tosses one of the cards and shoots it dead-center without even twitching his head to align the shot. Lui discovers that Seeker has a unique power that goes beyond sight, but he will need to find the owner again to harness its full potential. He overhears a rumor that the Mayor's Daughter has become piltover's finest sharp-shooter, and he pulls out an old, worn out birthday card to look at the name. The entire name has faded except for the "C" at the beginning. Now, after every crime he commits, he leaves one of the cards with an ornate "C" at each scene. He then finds out that she joins League of Legends so he also joins in after her, hoping that one day, he will cross bullets with her in person.

"You can have your gun back, but you'll have to shoot it off my cold, dead hand." --Lui

Skills:

Passive: "Don't look" -Lui will always face in the direction that he is navigating, regardless of which direction he is shooting. He will do bonus physical damage whenever he is shooting directly behind him. (This bonus is doubled against minions and monsters)

Q: "Take Cover!" -Lui will dive to a nearby target ally, holding them down to take cover. The ally is briefly rooted for the duration, and any damage that Lui would receive is slightly shared with his targeted ally. This spell resets Lui's basic attack and can be canceled early. The dash can also go over small walls and terrain. (Items that the ally has, like item 3075 , and spells, like Annie 's E, will also take into effect). (While ally is rooted, the ally champion is immune to disposition, like Blitzcrank 's Q)

W: "Swift Scavenger" -Passive: every 3rd backward shot will give Lui a short burst of movement speed that immediately decays over time. -Active: Lui shoulder bumps (knockback) while pickpocketing an enemy champion STEALING 5 Gold and slowing for a very short duration. If the Champion is facing away from Lui, he steals 10 Gold instead.

E: "Saw that Comin" -Lui will briefly stand in place, facing away from the enemy target. During that moment, he will deflect the enemy's next basic attack and fan a second shot that deals magic damage that ignores a portion of the target's Magic Resist.

R: "Eye See Now" -Lui harnesses the full power of Seeker and spins the cylinder, he then shoots 6 powerfully charged shots at any enemy champion in his AoE dealing physical and magic damage and slowing them. The bonus damage from "Don't Look" is doubled. (The channeling, size of AoE, and being able to walk around is basically like Fiddlesticks , but without the blink, and the targeting aspect is similar to that of Sona 's Q... except one at a time and in quick succession).

Thank You so much for taking the time to read all of this, any an all feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Your fellow summoner, DrkPriest [slayer-jinx-catface]

Help me bring this champion to life! If you really like this idea, please use whatever talents you have to make this happen! If you are an artist, I would LOVE to see what Lui would look like! Send me all your fanart! If you are a musician, and you can hear what kind of music/emotion draws you the most with Lui, I would LOVE to hear it! I can't do this alone, let's all work together to bring Lui to life! <3

I had a hard time trying to follow the lore since it consisted mostly of a blow-by-blow fight between TF and this guy, which admittedly made for a nice script for an intro cinematic, but felt excessively drawn out as far as a lore summary goes.

Lore is based on some outdated information, but from what I gather this is the guy that killed Caitlyn's father and stole a gift meant for her- a magical revolver. he doesn't find out about any of its special abilities until a scuffle with TF that takes place on the streets of Demacia of all places, and is now determined to hunt down the gun's intended owner in hopes of somehow unlocking its remaining potential for himself.

Few qualms I have with this idea, namely that if Caitlyn's father being murdered was the whole reason she started out crimefighting and sniping and all that stuff to begin with, what sense does it make for her father to gift her something that would have been useful to her career as Sheriff of Piltover, before she became Sheriff of Piltover? Especially at such a young age of 14?

Also, considering how famous Caitlyn had become within Piltover for her role in nearly ending crime in the city, it probably wouldn't be hard at all for him to find out through the grapevine that she was the daughter of the statesman he offed, so while I understand your intent to tie him in with the mysterious bandit at the end of Cait's (admittedly outdated) lore, it doesn't really make a lot of sense from the context you provided.

With that aside, on to the kit:

Passive: so as I understand it, his model tracks movement and attack directions separately, simulating the effect of him being able to shoot at a target without looking at it, and consequently allowing bonus damage for shooting targets that are behind him. While I understand the intent of this passive and appreciate the gameplay-and-story integration it provides, mechanically speaking it's a bit underwhelming as it wouldn't be hard to just always kite your opponents by turning away before autoattacking. Now I could see possibly being able to move and attack at the same time, but then you would need some sort of downside like reduced attack range/damage/speed or what have you to make up for it.

Q: I understand the intent of this spell and the whole damage-split thing a la Braum, but as others have said, rooting an ally just opens up trolls being able to use this guy to ruin your pursuit and help an enemy escape, or stop you from escaping an incoming skillshot or ult (yes I am aware it's still reduced damage, but I would honestly rather take no damage.

W: Aside from the passive alteration which I have already voiced my opinion of, this does seem like a decent shove/annoy/escape tool, though I don't know what sort of impact the free gold will have in the long run.

E: So like Fiora's parry or Sivir's spellshield, but with AA's? I see that working. Though since autoattacks aren't central to everyone's attack strategy, I would say have some provision for countering skillshots and the like, though since Fiora already has a full reflect I would say just dodge an incoming skillshot in that case and just use your own shot for the counter.

R: First thing I thought of was Jhin's ult, but once you explained the similarity to Fiddlesticks' ult I think I have a better idea what it was meant to do. I suppose it's ok, as long as its AOE is big enough that a ranged ADC wouldn't get themselves in too much trouble trying to use it.

Oh, and before I forget: your statement that there are no AOE ADC ults is technically incorrect- Miss Fortune's ult continuously damages everyone in its cone-shaped AOE.
