Loot Crate Trading System

Hey there Riot! Holla at you for making a great game and taking my money.

I kid I kid.

I'm here today to talk about the loot crate system, and while I think it's great and awesome and all that. It feels clunky and like it still needs some work. For example, I have a friend who owns every champion, like a lot of people who've been playing this game for a long time (unlike my nooby silver butt), who don't benefit from the loot crate system as much as people like me who still have champions to collect. I think I speak for everyone who has gotten a skin or a champion shard for something they already have and find it annoying that they have to sit on it till they can reroll it. But like I said for people who already own all the champions this becomes pointless. So, my suggestions are; A) Change it so we can't receive shards for things we already own. Aka, people with all the champions would only get skin shards, which is fair if you ask me. Or B) Implement a trading system where you can trade shards to your friends for stuff so if you had champion shards and owned all the champions you could trade them to friends who still need champions, and if they had a skin shard they didn't like they could get a champion for it instead. :D

Anyways that's my 2 cents on the subject. Thanks for taking the time to read my lengthy post about nothing lolol.

Have a great day everyone! :D

I agree Hextech Crafting needs to be changed in ways, but the ones you listed aren't going to happen.

For your first suggestion, making it so receiving shards for things you already own isn't possible would be simple enough. I personally don't see a problem with having this be the case, Riot clearly disagrees, otherwise it would have been like that from the start. Mostly owned item shards are meant to be rerolled or disenchanted. In the case of people who already own all the champions though, there lies the problem.

Next, your second suggestion will never happen for the same reason Riot will never allow any form of IP transfer. Since crafting is a completely free and optional system it is available to everyone to benefit from with enough hard work. Think of it this way; you just got your friend into League and there is a champion they really want. Naturally to get it they would have to build the IP for it. But wait, here you are, a friend with plenty of spare shards, who can just gift their friend enough shards for any champion they want. 4 level account going into PvP with Sol already and not having spent a since cent on RP?

To keep all of this simple for you, Hextech Crafting is a free crane machine. You can try it all you want but you may not get anything actually. It's frustrating and so you end up spending you money on it only to continuing getting bad shards over and over. You spend more money on more chests certain it will all be worth it in the end until you're broke and Riot eats happy. After all, Crafting is free, you don't need to spend money on it. And because it is free, Riot can make it as frustrating and useless as possible and no one can complain. "Excuse me sir, but this isn't what I didn't pay for."

Sorry for the lengthy reply here, but I have been dwelling this all over a lot. Thank you though for taking the time to have read it all.
