Champion Idea ( Would love feedback and ideas )

So I thought of this idea and I really wanna share it with all you lovely people. It’s not done yet and feedback on it would be even better. This guy/girl would be mourning the death of there loved one and somehow when they fight they can hear their loved one talk to them and although they don’t like fighting that much they keep doing it because they are addicted to hearing their voice.
