For all the people that are actually skilled at their champion, Mastery 8

I believe that a good addition to the game would be Mastery 8. Similar to 6 and 7 in that you got to get a type of S to get it. Except, far harder. It takes 2 S-'s to get mastery 6, 3 S ranks to get mastery 7, but why not 4 or 5 S+'s to get mastery 8. This would prove that that pesky Yasuo in your bronze solo queue game is actually good. Most Mastery 7 bronze yasuos are infamous for feeding. However, if you see Mastery 8, which normally if you see 7 you might say "we lost", you will now think "Hey! We might win! This Yasuo is pretty good!" Just an idea for Riot and the League of Legends community to consider.

That wouldn't change anything. You can get mastery 7 without being extremely good at the champion just by playing the champion alot and having some lucky games. If you get mastery 8 with your suggested system, the only thing changing is that people have to grind harder. It will just increase the time people need to get this mastery.

I get the feeling that if they are giving us champion mastery 8 someday, it will be connected to the missions they are implementing right now. Like, when you are mastery 7 with the champion, you unlock a mission for that champion and solving this will give you mastery 8.

What if it has to be three or so consecutive S's or S+'s, indicating that the player of this champ is capable of consistently good wins and doesn't just get lucky every once in a while?

All the Mastery ranks can be achieved by simply playing the champion a lot, so I'm not sure this would actually accomplish what you want it to. Also, from what I've gathered from trying to read between the lines of Red posts, they're not really that keen on making more Mastery ranks.

I think the new Mission system is more their direction these days -- the idea that it's more fun to encourage people to play MORE characters than it is to have systems encouraging them to spam one character. I think the philosophy at Riot is that League is most fun -- and has the most replayability -- when you're experimenting, trying new characters, and having new experiences.

Just my thoughts, but I think their hesitance to push new Mastery-related content makes it a likely scenario.

I don't like the mastery system as it is anyways. The ranking system needs to be done away with imo. It is honestly stupid that I can go 2/0/2 on my Aatrox jungle game yesterday and get an S but I have seen teammates who go something like 17/2/9 and get an A+ just because they are playing a popular champion and they spent more time roaming than farming middle lane. I don't care what your CS is. If you are 17/2/9, you did way more than a 2/0/2 Aatrox who afk farmed jungle for most of the game.

Why do Zac and Aatrox deserve an S in this game but Lucian and Taric don't?

Lucian had way more cs, more kills, fewer deaths, and more assists than Zac but didn't get an S while Zac did. What more could have Lucian done to deserve a better rating? Oh, that's right. He could have played a less popular champion like Kog'Maw and gotten an S+.
