HELP WANTED: Ideas for a Champion Concept based around "The Holy Lance/Spear, Longinus"

Hello, I'm a fella that likes creating Champion Concepts and posting them on the board to see what my fellow LOL players think. A Concept I think that hasn't been done yet but I think would be really cool is the idea of a warrior that uses a weapon based on the Lance Of Longinus. So I'm looking for suggestions on possible passive, skills and lore that might fit work around the idea of the Holy Spear/Lance, but tailored to fit the world of Runeterra. If I use them or part of them, I'll do my best to remember to credit you when I post the finished concept.

Some Basic Rules

The character can be male or female, doesn't matter to me. The character would most likely have to be a Fighter or a Tank, or a hybrid of the two. The skills/passive can be anything, as long as they fit around the idea of the "Holy Spear".

In regards to Lore, if they are to come from a specific nation/country, we have to be sure to able to explain how the "Holy Lance" came into the possession of said nation, and how it then fell into the hands of the character. Example: It is a family heirloom of "Character Name Here" as granted to their family by a famous ruler/figure of the nation in the past, and a disastrous event forced them to make use of the weapon, and now they are continuing to use it to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands. Other than that, they can be from any faction of Runeterra.

I said in the post "I think hasn't been done yet". If Xin is based around this idea, then I suppose I just never saw the connection.

The way he looks and acts, just doesn't say "Holy Spear/Longinus", to me. But, that's just my way of looking at him. Also, nowhere on his champion page (Both on the official LOL website and the LOL Wikia) does it say he has any connections to the Lance of Longinus or any concept of it. Now, I'm not saying that such a connection is impossible, or that Riot may not rework him in the future to be like that, but as of this time of writing, he does not strike me as having any "Lance of Longinus" connections. It was more of a joke in that he's one of the more prominent spear-wielding champs and one who often gets called 'godlike'.

On a more serious note, I don't understand what you expect with the whole "lance of longinus" thing- Runeterra is not and never has been Earth, so its history and mythology overlap very little with real-world ones. "Lance of Longinus" in this case holds no significance whatsoever any more than any old magical spear would, unless there's something about the Lance of Longinus' legend that you had hoped to evoke that I don't know about.

As it stands, though, right now all I have to work with is "magical spear heirloom"; not entirely a bad thing, but not particularly special in its own right in such a high-fantasy world as Runeterra. Though I did have that half-baked lore idea where the legendary weapon that everyone had fought over and changed hands so many times in Valoran's history was actually alive, and derived most of its power from absorbing the skills of its previous wielders and passing them on to all subsequent wielders. It also technically possessed said wielders, so over time the legend about a weapon that wars were fought over gave way to legends about an invincible warrior that wielded it because eventually all its wielders began acting the same as it tried to avoid civilization so nobody knew it wasn't just one person living a really long time.

I didn't mean any offense by what I said in reply, sorry if it came off that way. I get your point though, as Yes, he is one of the more prominent spear-wielders of the League.

In regard to the lance-legend point, it was more of a "based-around it", rather than directly alluding to it. So from a design view-point, the weapon the character would use would be inspired by the Lance of Longinus, but not directly named after it. Like saying that there is some mythological "Holy Lance" in the world of Runeterra, and our conceptual character wields what they think or claim to be said lance.

That example you give of a weapon growing a life of it's own and possessing it's wielders isn't bad, and it could be applied to our conceptual character here, as I never stated that the character had to specifically be good or bad. Besides. I may not actually MAKE the concept, I was only reaching out to the community to see if they had any similar ideas. Thanks for the reply!

True. So it shows that there might already BE a "Lance/Holy Weapon" Champion already. I only thought I'd put forward the idea, since it seemed like a cool concept to me.

I was only reaching out to the community to see if anyone else had similar ideas, and/or if they knew of champions (Official or Unofficial) that already fit that niche. Besides, I might not actually MAKE the concept anyway. I know I said "When I post the finished concept" in the actual post, but it might not actually ever come to fruition, whether I get ideas from my fellow community members or not.
