Pantheon Rework Concept.
Passive - Battle Stances
His Passive would be a two part passive depending on if he has his Spear or not (Look to Q Ability).
Phalanx Stand (Spear Stance): His Auto-Attack range is increased dramatically and his Base AD goes up by a flat amount, but his Attack Speed and Movement Speed are decreased by the same amount.
Martial Stance (Non Spear Stance): His Auto-Attack range is decreased and his Base AD goes down by a flat amount, while in this stance his Attack Speed and Movement Speed are increased by the same amount.
Q Ability - Spear Throw/Horizontal Slash
His Q has two modes which change quite a lot about his kit (think Jayce or Nidalee ulti).
Spear Throw: A powerful line skill-shot that deals heavy damage with a short wind up to the throw but only has one use, because you threw your spear after all. Upon hitting an enemy champion or missing, the spear lands in the ground either at the maximum throw distance or just behind the target it hit. The spear can then be retrieved by walking over it with a very short animation of him picking up the weapon; this returns the ability Spear Throw and does not reset the cooldown, if applicable.
Horizontal Slash: After using the first half of the ability, Pantheon switches to his gladius, short sword, and the ability changes to a wide cone AOE slash which deals damage and knocks back lesser enemies. You can retrieve the spear instantly after it lands, its just up to how fast you get to it.
The Spear is automatically returned to you after 10 seconds.
W Ability - Leaping Strike
A line skill shot that jumps Pantheon to target location, upon hitting an enemy champion or reaching the end of the distance he lands and hops back a short distance, think an inverse Galio dash. The second half of the ability changes depending if Pantheon has the spear or not.
With Spear: The target is stunned and takes a moderate amount of damage. Without Spear: The ability doesn't stun but instead inflicts a bleed to the target which, if you then land a hit with the Horizontal Slash (Q), doubles the bleed duration and damage.
E Ability - Spear Thrust/Shield Bash
The E would also have two modes depending on if he has the spear or not:
Spear Thrush: A short line skill shot that deals damage and renders Pantheon immune to any physical based attacks during the attack. Shield Bash: An Empowered Auto-Attack that applies the debuff, "Staggered" to the target. If Pantheon then attacks the Staggered target his next basic attack deal bonus damage.
Ultimate Ability - Rain of Fire And Steel
Pantheon summons a Platoon of Targonian soldiers who draw bows and prepare to fire at a target location on the map, he then prepares to leap to the same location. After a long wind up, he launches into the air and the arrows are fired with him, a short time later and he impacts at the location as flaming arrows land around him dealing damage and slowing everyone in the area. Enemies closer to the centre of the impact take bonus damage.
These ideas were heavily inspired by the movie 300, which I recently watched, and I thought they would bring a breath of fresh air to the otherwise, "point and click" champion that Pantheon is at the moment. Feed back is welcomed and wanted!
