Hm. Project skins in general seem to have weapons and be cybernetic warriors, so Syndra isn't the best fit -- although she and others (Lux, Malzahar, etc) could be really good for a second skin line along a similar vein, dealing mostly with energy manipulating casters.
Garen, Darius, Irelia, and Katarina are all really solid. Shen might work. I'm not really feeling Nasus or Rengar or Varus though.
I'd also consider Diana, Ekko, Lee Sin, and Talon.
i did consider diana also capitalize on that spell casters idea i really like it you do have some good ideas
