[My First Champ Concept] Arψbo, The Visitor
So this is my first design of many champions that I have thought of. Its the summer holidays for me so now I have plenty of free time to come up with designs for new champions. The Majority of you guys here on the forums have fantastic designs and concepts that I love to look at and you've inspired me to show some of my own. However, unlike you guys with your super art skills, I prefer to doodle my concepts as I don't have the tech and programs for good artwork. Without further ado, here is my first design on this forum.
Arψbo, The Visitor
Preface (and Basic Lore): For this champion, I wanted to create a character not of Valoran origin. It sucks cause we already have Bard who is close to that. However, this champion doesn't even come from Earth (or whatever planet Valoran is on). Thus this champion has the simple Alien thematic and tropes. Alien from another world blah blah crashing on Valoran blah blah experimented on by Piltie scientists, escapes and whatnot.
Naming: Arψbo is pronounced "Are-Sigh-Bow" which sounds like the word Arecibo which is the name of the Arecibo Message which was broadcasted into space with information about earth such as DNA elements and our number system. the greek letter ψ 'Psi' helps with pronunciation as well as to provide an oddity in the name to make it different from human names. The name is what is translated by piltover scientists through looking at the alien's writing and language
Role: I decided to make him an ADC as he uses his alien gun (picture) called the Tektite Blaster. However, he is an ADC that can take care of himself most of the time (to balance this I will explain below) without support. This is because his kit revolves around keeping enemies out of play to lock-down or avoid annoyances.
Quotes: (he can speak simple english basically with static interference with a piltover translator. Just think of the translation like Google translate with its word-by-word translation)
Champion Select: "Log Mission Begin Analysis"
Joke: Make ALL the Alien references
- He looks at a floating panel data screen then tampers with his center piece button where the translator is and causes a short fuse and then says "The Repair (while looking at the screen), Failed it has (full animation)"
- Yoda reference
- Same animation but says "Insufficient facts, (short fuse) danger caused" - A Spock reference to the quote "Insufficient facts always invite danger" - Star Trek, season 1, episode 24 (“Space Seed,” 1968)
Taunt:
- Load his gun with tektite ammo and raises the gun up saying "Prepare for Complete Analysis"
- same animation saying "I Shoot First" - reference to the Han Solo and Greedo controversy
Movement:
- "Not angry, just hurt." - Marvin the Martian "I'm not angry, just terribly hurt". as if he's speaking to the piltover scientists

- Meeting Enemy Soraka/Bard: "From Out There?"
- Meeting Enemy Heimerdinger/Ziggs: "Leave me be!"

Uses HP and Mana
Attributes: Primary: Marksman; Secondary: Support
Ikr, ADC and can support due to his kit
Stats: I'm not a supreme numbers man so I avoid applying numbers to damage, ranges and stats. You can decide them if you guys want to.
Abilities:
**Passive Ability ** Extraterrestrial Analytic Equipment: All of the tech that Arecibo managed to take back from the scientists adapt and analyse to the new surroundings of Valoran and collect data to become stronger after a period of time. Thus Skills and Auto attacks are Amplified with added effects or more damage when not used after a period of time. activates for skills only when off cool down.
Active abilities
Q - Cerebral Scatter
- Apply an effect to one auto-attack where the target shot (Champion) will attack their nearest teammate (like around for 2 secs)
- With Passive - the Amplified version makes the Enemy effected apply a slow to the teammate he/she/it attacks
W - Oort Field
- Throws a disc/mine/frisbee thingy that lands and remains there until stepped on. (2 max on field, no charges)
- Steeping on it creates a circular wall for about one second trapping the enemy in it (like Jarvans Ult)
- Amplified version causes a knockup effect inside field for about 1 second
E - Kuiper Augmentation Belt
- Levitates Arecibo's character model
- Also gives increased attack and attack speed
- Amplified version allows him to travel over floor Area of effects like Morgana's W
- To balance this, after active is done, tech malfunctions causing him to hit the ground and be rooted for brief moment of time
- And his Defence and Magic resist falls for the after effect
R - Fourth Kind Encounter
- After a delay creates a beam of light AoE (like an alien ship tractor beam)
- enemies in it are suppressed and removed from map for a brief moment of time (like Elise Rappel)
- they are returned (in another light beam) in the same location they were abducted
- Amplified version give the AoE a ring around in that acts as a vacuum sucking up enemies into the beam of light
- The light beam doesn't last long so it can be wasted in an instant
