I just saw the new champion teaser and the moment i saw her face it was obvious where the "inspiration" came from. Lin Beifong from Avatar the legend of Korra. Taliyah and Illaoi were kinda of a nod but this is getting a bit out of hand you even put on the Iron chains coming from her hips. I will spam your boards until i get some anwers.

Are they ok with this ? Because it is something i love, LOVE, and i might not be seeing anything like it again and you are making a profit of it. Edit: almost lost myself in details. Shes a copy, with some added stuff. Of course they would never put direct copy. But it is a copy, her face her look her color scheme. talking in boards was a huge waste of my time, dont anwer anymore. As i said, i already spoke to the right people. And it is not these 15 year olds fanboys from riot. Season 1 player and arts student i work in the field and i know a copy went i see one.. Dont anwser back unless you are riot , its a waste of my time. We have dragons from space and a blatant copy is all you can come up with. Yeah stick her metal legs from a villain of a movie and shes toootally not a copy .

I said, taliyah was a nod to Avatar. I'm ok with that. The new champion, Camille is a rip off Lin Beifong from avatar, and even such a tiny detail as strings of iron coming from her hips are there. Dont nitpick what im saying and focus, this is more than inspiration.

Edit, its Lin Beifong her daughter. not Toph Beifon

This is called blind passion.

Camille is obviously part machine, she doesn't have control over any of the Earth, her character has a big focus on using her legs as her primary weapon.

Her armor seems navy and her hair is silver. None of that is Lin.

As for personality, the evidence isn't there with simply one comic, no smart person would base it on that.

Lets go. Well one of Avatar of Korras topic was modernization and how technology would impact its world. Earthbend which gave origin to metalbend is associented to the color green , navy as you put it. sure Metal is silver, there silver hair. And you are caling me dumb because ..personality ? something you came up with. I could say all this, but i wont, because it has nothing to do with what i said. So this is leagues Board bunch of golden knights defending riot. I am saying. This character is a copy of Lin Beifong from Avatar. Sure theyll add stuff to the character waw metal legs. .Thats the bare miminum.

  • Also the topic of Zaun as well as Piltover. Avatar doesn't own technology and modernization.

  • Navy is a dark blue. Green and brown has nothing to do with blue, wow.

  • "Metal" is also yellow, brown, black, and many other colors. All of our main hair colors (blonde, brown, black) has a metal that matches the color, silver hair means nothing.

If anything it's more similar to attack on titan since they actually have metal strings that come from their hips, Lin from avatar shoots from from her hands via wrist things.

Again you guys are nitpicking . No one said anything about manipulating anything. The character her face her use of Iron chains or strings to move around are a rip off Avatars Lin Beifong . Edit: Damn even the color of her uniform

she is clearly yet another lovecraft inspired champion (together with the void ones), even if indirectly

nobody cares if some avatar tapped into the lovecraftian mythos too

for me you lost all the credit when you said that ialloi was avatar-inspired

i guess it is the same for taliyah and the rest, you probably think that avatar invented and introduced tentacles, mysterious sea gods, earth magic and cyborgs, when it is a fairly non-influential cartoon, a very new one too, which re-used stuff from a bunch of older sources, from which other people take their inspiration directly

Riot has not blatantly copied anyone from Avatar. They may have become inspired, but no one they make is a copy of any pre-existing character. Due to drawing inspiration from, and not trying to replicate, Riot owes nothing to no one, as all of their content is uniquely their own and only paying homage to pop culture. This is no different than World of Warcraft drawing inspiration from D&D, or making characters and nods to countless pop culture characters and stories over the years. This is no different than GTA making homages to any movie. Many, many games pay homage or make parodies of famous stories and characters, so chill. It's in virtually every game in existence, and they help people connect to the game and the characters through points of similarity.

Ah yes, I remember the episode where Lin Beifong went and killed people with giant metal swords sticking out from her legs. Or the time when 2 people looking vaguely similar but being different in every other aspect meant that the 2nd one was a rip off of the first. Those totally happened.
