Some ideas for Rek’Sai
Rek’sai is being outdone by fellow junglers and fighter class champs like shyvana, jarvan, and warwick. Late game she doesn’t even hold a candle to other champs in her category. She’s strongest in the early game when people don’t do much damage but late game gets blown up in less than two seconds. She’s just too squishy. I’ve thought up some changes that might help even out her performance at all stages of the game and help with some minor issues she has.
Her passive is meh. The healing from it is not so great. If it scaled much higher in to the late game it could be used as a great source of sustain while leaving the early game untouched. As of right now it is barely noticeable and doesn’t make much of a difference.
Her Q is pretty boring. Next three aa do more damage and a negligible amount to surrounding enemies. Somehow up the damage it does to surrounding targets while keeping the bonus damage on the main target the same. Increase the base damage of the ability and decrease the scaling, maybe switch it to total ad so you don’t have to build as much damage to keep it from being useless. And because rek’sai has no tankiness in her kit maybe have it heal her if she hits at least two enemy champions with it. Also widen the aoe a bit. Prey seeker could give movement speed toward enemy champions hit for the duration it reveals them.
Give rek’sai some damage reduction when she is in burrowed form. This will make getting kited more bearable and being jumped on by someone you didn’t detect or blown up by a mage that you didn’t see less punishing.
Make her bite do full damage regardless of fury unless you’re at max which then it does true dmg. You still want to have full fury before you bite but doing less damage than an auto attack at 0 fury is kind of unnecessary. Her tunnel cast, not re-use, cool down is 26 seconds at rank 1 which is very long as an ability that is pretty much central to her kit and her only mobility spell. Maybe just lower it to 22 seconds.
Finally, her ultimate should only be dodg-able by flashes and flash-like abilities. So it cannot be dodged by Ekko dash but can be dodged by kat shunpo or ezreal. This just makes it more reliable. Lowers the number of champions that can counter it without having to flash.
I really hope riot eventually gives this champ a bit more tweaking because she has a good kit but can’t do much with it atm.
