Zorn, the Fires of Hatred

Description: This is a pyro champion, abilities based on pyro classes from different, most well known pyro would be the one from Team Fortress 2. But unlike Team Fortress 2's Pyro who's endless slaughter comes from hallucinations from the goggle, this one, as said in the title, uses violence to express hatred. I'll explain in the Lore. Here's the details.

Stats: Attack - 20% Health - 35% Magic - 90% Difficulty - 80%

Attributes: Primary - Mage Secondary - Fighter

Abilities: Passive - Alicia's Sorrow Named after his lost lover, Zorn is equipped with a flame thrower which will enable his auto attacks deal overtime magic damage. It sprays a cone of fire in front of him, dealing magic damage to enemies who stay within the small cone. Enemies who leave the cone are left "BURNING" for 2 more seconds, taking half the magic damage dealt. Enemies on "FIRE" will take additional magic damage from auto-attacks.

First Ability - Pursuit of Anger Shooting this flare gun at a target direction will reveal areas around the projectile. Upon hitting the first target, the fire will deal overtime magic damage and continue to reveal the area around the affected target for 3 seconds. Overtime damage and revealing area decreases as the timer runs out.

Second Ability - Human Torch-urer Punny name but diabolical meaning. Zorn switches to melee attacks by lighting a giant torch on fire. He can hit 4 times with this mallet using auto-attacks but can still use "Pursuit of Anger" and "Fires of Hatred" while it is activated. Each swing from his torch deals tons of magic damage to the target and lights the enemy on "FIRE" for 3 seconds. Damage increases as it is dealt against the same target but will also continue to put them on "FIRE" for an extra second for each swing. The cool-down is reduced depending on how many swings have not be made.

Third Ability - Blinding Terror Zorn tosses a flare at a target area, blinding enemies within range of the radius for 3 seconds. After 3 seconds, the flare detonates, dealing magic damage to enemies within half the radius and set them on "FIRE".

Ultimate - Fires of Hatred Oil and Flammable Gas is spread all over a large target area. Enemies within the area will lose traction due to the oil slick. But if Zorn uses attacks within the flammable area or if any other AOE attacks take place inside the target area, it will combust. This will remove the traction reduction effect but instead will light the area on fire for 5 seconds. Enemies within will be set on "FIRE", stacking the amount of overtime damage they take, the longer they stay inside the fire and take even more additional overtime damage from Zorn's attacks.

Synergy: Works well with - While Zorn activates Fires of Hatred against the enemy formation, Ziggs can use his Mega Inferno Bomb to combust the chemical spread to combine their fire power and deal tons of magic damage. Speaking of tons of damage, the same can go with Corki and his Special Delivery. Tons of overtime damage is added as enemies within the Fires of Hatred also receive true damage from The Package, especially in tighter areas where it is hard for them to get out of the flaming path. There's no such thing as too much fire power when it comes to a fire fight. Brand's abilities can also contribute to Zorn's fiery attacks, burning Zorn's victims even more to satisfy his hatred and anger.

Struggles against - Zorn needs to get up close and personal with his victims but Jhin tends to keep his distance while counting his 4's. It will take Zorn forever to get close to Jhin as he is shot and slowed by each bullet of Curtain Call. Not to mention the flowers spread all over the ground to keep Zorn as Jhin's Captive Audience. Caitlyn is another champion who keeps her distance from enemies for clean shots. Her auto-attacks are already long enough to shoot Zorn from a safe distance. Same with her other attacks. It's hard for Zorn to burn her if all her Yordle Traps keep trapping him and if he keeps getting tangled by the net. It's hard for Zorn to get close while a bunch of soldiers get in his way. Azir is able to keep his distance now that he's got his soldiers to fight for him, especially while his soldiers cannot be attacked. With Emperor's Divide, there is no way for Zorn to get through. He'll just have to settle with running from soldiers poking holes all over his gas tank.

Tips: Playing as Zorn -

• Not only ability power increases Zorn's auto-attack damage, but attack speed as well.
• Human Torch-urer should be used against melee champions. Once you are done swinging, that gives you more fire power to fight back with your auto-attacks.
• Movement will not interrupt your auto-attacks as long as you are in range of your target. This can be used well against running targets who move at the same speed or slower than you.

Playing against Zorn -

• Distance is the key to keeping safe from Zorn's attacks. Long range champions are highly recommended when fighting against him. He rarely touches anyone picking him off from a distance.
• Stay distant from your ally who is affected by Pursuit of Anger to avoid revealing your position. Pursuit of Anger will also reveal stealth abilities if the stealth victim is hit.
• Human Torch-urer gambles Zorn's survival with fire power. Melee champions will have a higher advantage against Zorn if they all crowd him at once. Just make sure the most magically defensive ally goes in first.

Lore: "As people, we made a big mistake. We've played with fire and now we all burn for it. You want to know what I'm talking about? Our people died in the hands of one man. That man now roams across Valoran with fire that burns from his heart. That man I speak of is out there burning more of us until we're all gone. This man I speak of was once an innocent young man until our brutality turned him into the monster, the monster we call Zorn.

Zorn, once named Elric, was the son of a corporate businessman who was once the CEO of a weapons manufacturing company known has Helios. This weapons manufacturing company sells weaponry exclusively to classified military personnel and criminals across Valoran. They sell their weapons to any military group from any city. They sell weapons to any criminal with any intentions such as vandalism, robberies, murder, suicide, terrorist attacks, whatever evil intentions you have with only a pistol. This caught the attention of the people who were affected by these evil corporate business practices. They protest to the government, demanding that they put an end to Helios, stop them from selling weapons to criminals and destroy every dangerous weapon they've manufactured. But the government wouldn't listen. They needed the fire power to stand against other nations, particularly Noxus and even Demacia whom are both are in an uneasy truce but are in an ancient rivalry against one another. But people continued demanding the government to take down Helios for good. As they do so, they continue to be ignored and many more innocent lives are being lost. It was at the point where people deal with the situation themselves and started attacking many of Helios weapon manufacturing facilities, some of which were successfully taken down. Thus began a war between Helios and the people hurt by their criminal practices.

Along the CEO's business campaign, he had a son, Elric. What he wanted was for him to be his successor in the future. Because of this, he led him to understand the mechanics of weapons they manufacture, learn to run a business, and try to keep him isolated from the outside world and live his whole life working in an office.

Elric wasn't the corporate kind of person, nor was he ever interested in weaponry. He seemed more like his mother, one who was more peaceful and least destructive. Not much is known from her but word has it was she had a bad time with Elric's father before he was ever born. Elric was considered someone to be born against his mother's will. She was announced dead after Elric's birth.

Throughout his whole life, he was forcefully taught about the business and how to handle it. Meanwhile, he was distracted by the outside world and the beauty it holds. Every time he was caught looking outside, he would be forcefully taken back in to continue his lessons. Elric grew a hatred towards his father because of this. But since he was only a kid at the time, there was nothing he could do to stop him.

Once he got older, he decided to run away from home, and just as his father was ready to pass down the business to him too. There was many places for him to explore, something that seemed a little more natural. Let's say maybe some open fields or fountains with kids around. How about a beautiful garden? His mother likes that and so does he.

Anyway, he ran away to a peaceful city in Ionia. It was from there where his mother was born. Not sure what drove him or how he made it that far. It was a beautiful place so he stayed there for years. Throughout his experience there, he met a girl. A girl who wanders Ionia to explore its natural habitat. She seemed remarkable with animals, even violent ones like bears. Elric was interested to know about this place, about what drove him here, what it's like in the outside world. The girl laughed and told him she was after the same thing. The two smiled at each other and asked for their names. The girl was named Alicia. She's an orphan with an unknown origin which is probably what she was after but didn't find any answers. She asked Elric why he was here and he explained his harsh relationship with his father. Alicia felt concerned that a horrific childhood like that would make a man like Elric so evil and violent, yet she sees a man who means no harm to anyone. Even the animals see in him, too.

Alicia was a good girl. Quiet, gentle, silly, and very innocent. It reminded Elric of his younger days, being innocent and silly, to have wonders of beauty.

I didn't take long before they became best friends. Everyday, they would meet for a nice chat. They would walk together around the forest. They began working together in some minor work just to make a living. It was until they decided to move in together just to avoid costs in housing. It was not long until they fell in love and began traveling across the world together. Perhaps the two meeting up was the purpose of coming to Ionia. Now that they found each other, Alicia wanted to go to Demacia to visit her friend, Luxanna and her brother, Garen.

Along the way, he received a letter from his father, demanding that he would return home or they'll him. He trashed the letter before anyone else could read it and continued living with Alicia during their stay in Demacia.

Afterwards, Demacia was visited by some of their well known acquaintances, all of which looked too familiar to Elric. He learns that the visitors were affiliated with Helios and that they come here to take him back home. Garen and Luxanna learned of this and wanted Elric and Alicia to get back to Ionia as quickly as possible. Elric and Alicia snuck their way out of Demacia with their friends' help. They took a few carriages to take refuge in a hidden village for a month before getting back to Ionia. They've reported that Helios personnel have based in Ionia to catch Elric on sight.

They've arrived in the village and Elric for some reason was met with evil glares. The people there didn't appear to like him. They seemed familiar with him, too. It was to Elric's horror to find out that Helios has placed 'missing' posters all over the village with his mugshot on it. By the looks of the tear marks and how some of these posters are flying freely across the wind, Helios has already made a visit about a month ago. But the search party won't be back anytime soon.

Alicia was concerned about their encounter and asked more about Elric and his relation to Helios. He couldn't explain on the way though so they waited until they were safely inside their shelter. They went through a crowd throwing objects at their carriage. Some of them even hit Alicia, intentionally.

Now notice I said 'safely' before. Here's why.

Because of those posters, people now know that Elric is the son of the CEO of Helios. It could have been better for them to just leave while they had the chance. But Helios was out there and the village was the least dangerous place to be.

Though I couldn't say it was safe at all.

Elric explained to Alicia what Helios was, at least as far as he could remember from his forced education. Alicia was scared a little but she understood that Elric left Helios for the right reason and continued supporting him until the very end.

And let me remind you that the end isn't always happy.

During their stay there, people have begun to stare at their shelter. As they remain, people began spying on them, messing around with the shelter. Some of them threw a shoe at the window. Others pass by to taunt at the occupants. Alicia was scared, Elric felt terrified. They were running out of food supplies so one of them had to go shopping. Elric said he was going to do it instead. He'd hate to imagine what it's like for people to hurt Alicia. He wouldn't her to go through such hatred by the people.

I can see why. She's just an innocent bystander. She has no connection to Helios at all. Elric feels guilty about dragging her into this mess even though it was her choice to drag herself along with him.

Elric did his best to get what he needs. But people there didn't want his money. They just want him to get out. Barely able to get supplies, Elric returns home with a few bruises in his face. Alicia and Elric treated the bruises afterwards. Then afterwards, it was the same routine but days get even worse.

Elric felt terrified. He was born in a such a mess. Was losing himself. He breathed heavily thinking of all the things he's went through to see the chances of it being lost in a single moment. Ironically, Alicia was the more sane one in the shelter and did what she could to calm down Elric even though it was she who should have been more terrified. She sang to him a lullaby. Not sure where she learned it from but it began to calm Elric down a little. They sang the lullaby again together and throughout that stormy night, Elric and Alicia began to feel safe again.

Before Elric and Alicia were ready to leave to Ionia, Elric was able to get enough materials to make a couple of rings. He was planning on proposing once they arrive in Ionia.

They've packed their belongings as much as they could and they prepared themselves to leave.

Only, before they could leave their home, they were met with a pack of horrific glares. The people there surrounded them with torches and tridents, with angry words coming out of their mouths and had raging expressive motions throughout their bodies.

It was an uproar and they wanted nothing more but the death of the couple by their hands.

So Elric quickly turned the carriage around and rode away from the angry mob. They were attacked by thrown torches, traps were set up to stop them on their tracks. There were barely any escape routes to get out of the village. Until suddenly they see their path was clear and they thought they were home free.

That is until Helios showed up. I gave them the call to tell them Elric was in the village.

The carriage was shot down and both Elric and Alicia were severely injured by the crash. Elric tried grabbing Alicia to use the rest of his strength to get her out. But it was not enough to stop Helios from pulling him away. Mean while, the angry mob began to pull against Alicia's will.

Alicia shared her last words to Elric before she was taken away. Her last word was. . . 'Yes.' To Elric's horror, the angry mob snatches her away. And within that crowd, he saw her being beaten to death. She was kicked, smacked, punched, brutalized, and when the doors of the cargo shut in front of him, that was the last time he saw her.

All his dreams, all that he cared for, the one he loved, it was all gone. Elric curled in horror and began to cry. The people that took looked at each other and back at Elric. One of them tried comforting him but he refused. Once they left the Village, it was back to base, back to his father, back to learning how to own that business.

Along the way, Elric began to develop anger, hatred, destruction. You can see it in his eyes. They looked vengeful.

They've arrived at the main office. Elric's father was proud to see his son return home. He wasn't even mad that he was gone. He was just scared for his son. Now that his son has returned, he can finally pass down his business so he can retire peacefully. It was all so sudden for Elric. To be beaten up, forced against his will, to come back here, all to be given control of the entire business within seconds. Elric had no choice. He agreed to take over the business. His father ordered the guards that he was in charge from now on. He let's his son sit on his desk. He was foolish enough to ask what his son wanted now that power was in his hands.

I called him 'foolish' because he doesn't realize that Elric has changed. Elric want revenge. And so, he was met with a terrible.

Elric ordered his father, 'terminated.' Guns were then pointed at the old man. Then in a snap, he was shot to death, and to the point where he was nothing but bloody bones. Elric orders them to get him some equipment and had plans for Helios. Before leaving the room, he stomps on his father's skull which happened to be rolling down the floor.

They've dropped him off back at the village. He ordered them to wait until he calls again. He marches back into the village and shoots a flare into the sky to get the people's attention.

Upon entering the village, he sees a dead corpse, crucified upon a cross. The corpse appeared to be severely wounded. Many bruises and cuts, limbs dislocated. Upon seeing it, it filled Elric with even more hatred.

Then he comes across what he wanted to see: The angry mob that murdered Alicia.

The mob yelled and threw objects at the armed man. Then Elric threw objects of his own.

The people were splattered with oil, and they smell chemicals floating through the air. They look at Elric who had a little fire lighted in front of the barrel. Then suddenly, out came a burst of flames, spray all over the mob. Then there was an explosion and the people screamed in horror and began to run. Elric pursue them. He wanted to make sure that every last one of them was burned to the ground. He went through house to house, burning every precious belongings he sees valuable. Pictures of families, jewelries filled with memories, he even burned things too young to be seen as his enemies.

I would explain what those young things were but I've gone explicit enough.

Anyway, outside where the people scatter, he slaughters them with fire, using his torch to beat one man to death, his flare to ignite another, he blinds many more to horrify their deaths. Soon, everyone in the village was burnt to the ground. Not one survivor was reported.

Before he called his men for pick-up, he sees the crucified corpse. He walks up to her, he then places the ring in her finger, then places his. He then calls for pick up, ordering his men to retrieve the corpse, provide it a proper burial in Ionia.

A funeral took place in Ionia. Close friends were gathered, including Luxanna and her brother, Garen. They see Helios personnel within the vicinity. Then to their horror, they see a young woman resting inside her coffin, and next to her was Elric with a completely changed expression on his face. They did not see sadness. Only anger. They've paid respects to their fallen friend. She was then buried in front of a tree, the tree where Elric first met Alicia.

Things became darker the more Elric was in charge.

He doesn't show his face anymore. All they ever see was him inside a suit, with fire reflecting from his goggles. In his records, he's killed many of his contractors and past business partners from his father's time in charge. It was then he gained the attention of everyone across Valoran. All the cities, all the nations, every single one of them learned of who he was. They didn't call him by his real name, Elric. Due to the expressions of hatred and anger, he was now known as 'Zorn.'

Zorn. . . the Fires of Hatred.

I grew up seeing Zorn changed. I was the one who took part in the expedition of his return. I was the one who had to pull him away, and I was the one who tried to comfort him for his loss. I even offered to help out with his funeral, and now I'm his partner, his closes friend to the very end. Now I'm stuck here telling you this. Zorn has become one of the most feared icons ever to exist. And now that he's here, he's willing to spread nothing but fear all over those who watch him in battle. Although it's going to be tough for him to strike fear in the eyes of his challengers, it is not the challengers that matter. It is him sending a message. While he fights there, we fight out there, killing as much people as he desired. I have to admit, it is horrifying experience. I had to kill children because of him, and I want out. But if he finds out I quit my job, he'll be after me and my family. I know what he went through was hard but this needs to stop. No more innocent lives, no more brutalities, no more blood shed, no more fire. Just put it all out and end his wrath, or else we all die."

Appearance: In-game, he's equipped with Pyro gear, fire proof suits, flame thrower with a tank, flare guns, torch, and flare with a gas mask. Looks like many of other pyros from different, most popular would be the one from Team Fortress 2.

Personality wise, he's based of the character you play as in "Hatred." Sneak Peek: Many parts of this website and in the game would be set on fire. For example, when you're in this page, some part of the boxes are burnt off and the fire doesn't stop burning. On the main page, you hear fire burning all over. Many more League related websites would be on fire, literally.
