Cho'Gath and his Skins

Since Cho'Gath Chogath just got his new prehistoric skin it made me think about his old skins. Particularly his legendary ones. I love Gentleman Cho, but it seems like it needs a "buff." Some ideas I had for the skin would be for his Rupture (Q) that instead of spikes he could Rupture up a dinner table instead. I thought his Feral Scream (W) was great because he yells quiet while doing it. His Vorpal Spikes (E) should show Cho'Gath throwing wine bottles or silverware at his opponents instead of the standard spikes. This thought I read somewhere, probably on youtube, that Cho's ultimate Feast (R) should have him pull out a fork and knife to devour his enemy. I was also thinking about his back (B) he should be sitting in a throne like chair, perhaps in front of a fire place, reading a newspaper. Just some of my ideas plus the idea about his ult coming from youtube, but the rest are mine. Now for Cho's Battlecast skin. I do think it is great, but since there are so many other battlecast skins and Skarner Skarner has his own legendary battle cast skin it kind of lowers the value of this one. It's just not that original anymore, now it's just one of a set, and while it was the only legendary out the bunch it made him the leader in a way. Now with Skarner's skin also being legendary it almost makes his not really special anymore, and too my knowledge that's what legendary skins, and ultimate skins are about. Making a special skin that Riot worked extra hard on, and also that they would be unique to the champion. Well these are just my thoughts on the subject. Hope anyone that reads this enjoys it.

Riot has stated they will give cho a VU The real question is, will his VU come before or after the cure for cancer.

I thought they already gave him a VU. Didn't they update the Nightmare, and Loch Ness Cho'Gath skins?

Riot has stated they don't plan on changing legendary skin to meet the current standards. They will give them visual updates with the champions (see firefighter tristana) but they aren't going to changing the particles/spell effects. The main reasons being

  1. They don't want to change the skin in such a way that players that purchased for what it was, are displeased with what it is an no longer want the skin.

  2. They would have to allocate resources for something that has already existed and cost money to produce (with likely little return in increased sales of it) when they could instead create new higher quality legendary/ultimate skins for other champions.

TL;DR - While it would be nice, i wouldn't hold your breathe.

FireFighter Tristana actually had particles and sound effects added to it... so that's a bad example because they WILL update the skins to slightly meet the standards, but only when doing a VU.

I have read their statements about the subject, and was not requesting an update to the skin or a new skin like others have about other champions. I hate to say this because you might read this as me trying to be rude to you, but your comment really is unnecessary. Basic principles of how to run a business say that it would be a bad idea to edit something from years ago. We all know this info already. This is a discussion board meant to generate conversation about ideas or how people feel, not just say it will never happen. I know these things will never, or are likely to never happen, but why not say I like the idea of the dinner table, or I disagree about what you said about the battlecast skin losing its value. Have some fun with the ideas, it's like theory crafting about players being traded around in the NBA. It's always fun to say it'd be cool to see Wade go to the Lakers, whether it's possible or not is a different story. You feel me?

I totally get it, and i personally would love to see gentleman cho'gath get particles to match the theme. One thing Riot could do would be make a gentleman cho'gath "Chroma" that changes the particle effects when selected, that way people who like the skin as is can keep it, and anyone who wants to have it some additional effects would have to pay to get it.

The main reason i commented with what i did originally is because from the context put in there, it didn't seem that you knew Riot's stance on it (which is my bad for assuming) and since the likelihood of a red posting on a thread is low, i just figured i'd let you know in the event that you didn't.

Yea I totally get why you would think I may not have read Riot's thoughts on changing old skins from the stye I wrote in. Perfectly understandable. I think the chroma idea is interesting. I don't know how gentlemanly he would look if he had a yellow top hate or bright orange suit, but you never know. Have you seen the Zac chroma pack? There is a yellow one, and an orange one that look very close to the same thing. I like the chromas as a whole because they do add a little something to the game, like a throw back to the old skins on how most of them were just re-colorings of the champ, but I hope that they make sure that the skin is different enough from another chroma within the same section and different enough as a whole. The Morgana chroma to me just doesn't stand out as different enough from the original design. That's just what I think though.
