Skill expression on Vi's W (aka an active)
HI,
So I heard RIot may look to add an active to Vi's W and balance out her kit accordingly. I think that sounds so awesome, and a great idea from riot.
So I wanted to bring up what I think would be some cool lore / mechanics for a Vi w active.
W is denting blows, after 3 hits it breaks and shatters opponents armor, this passive is awesome so let's keep it. Now working off of that I think it would be cool if an active on it had a CD for use but no CD to recharge it. Instead Vi has to active her 3 hit passive to shatter armor and earn a charge for use, essentially she is using the shattered remains of some armor to create an effect. The ability would be charged up by shattering the armor of minions, monsters, or champs.
So as for the actual active... I dont know keeping in theme maybe she gains a straight line skill shot that has a little slow on it as she fires armor shrapnel at people. The slow would be great for her chase and really help out that portion of her kit. This would give her kit a good bush check ability too -increasing the chances of seeing her pro play, which would be awesome because that jungle meta needs some more champs (Lee, rek, lee, rek, lee, grag, rek).
Alternatives to this could also be a shrapnel mine that she lays. a shrapnel bomb that she tosses, a shrapnel claymore that can only go on walls and is a directional blast away from the wall. One last altnerative off the top of my head would be a shrapnel AOE damaging aura that is centered on her, maybe it can be activated with one charge of the W but any extras charges are always consumed to increase the damage or size.
Maybe to keep things balanced also, she gets no charges at rank 1 W and then at rank 2, 3, 4, and 5 she gets 1 charge added each skill up. Essentially turning her fists into double barreled whatever s.
Okay, well that's my hypothetical design. discussion is welcomed so long as we assume first that any change to W would result in further balance changes to her kit so please no OP broken comments, they just aren't constructive.
