I have never wanted to delete LOL more than in this preseason

I've played since season 0 through all kinds of ups and downs but, these exp changes across the map are the worst thing riot has ever tried to change! The implications of giving solo lanes a net 5% exp buff over duo lanes and a net 6% exp buff over jungle (not to mention the 4% gold nerf to jungle and a gold nerf to supports) has got to be one of the worst design choices Riot has ever made.

The implications of these changes are so vast and far reach that I could write a 20 page (single space 10pt font) dissertation on the subject and still not cover all of the negative impact it has on every player on the map in some way (yes even the lanes its suppose to be good for can be negatively impacted in the most unhealthy way).

The best part about all of this too is that even when my team is the one winning off of these changes it no longer feels good or rewarding to win. Like oh yaaa, my team is winning lets go watch my solo laners delete the other team because they are 3 to 4 levels up on them, I'll just stand back to offer poke and moral support for them... Like seriously Riot, how do you make winning not rewarding in a PVP game?

Get your shit together Riot, you have 10 years of development and design based on the old values that effect so much of the game (Champions, timing, power spikes, camp re-spawns, risk vs reward, items costs vs game clock, hell the entire lane phase can just end now at level 6 when solo laners start roaming with no threat from the level 4 jungle and even if you do run into them -good free kill with ult) it's lunacy to think that you could make this kind of change and not introduce 101 new problems.

Stop making perfectly logical sense OP! They are a small indie company and don't have the resources to cover everything that those big boiz at Blizzard and EA can! Have a heart!

And think that S8 and S9 were disgusting. It's really surprising how they have done even worse.

The new items are a joke, the new map is a joke... And the client... well, this new issue with the usernames is exhilarating :D

Man the 10 year anniversary event was fun, now back to the usual shitshow

I would like to agree with OP but in a much more simple way in my mind.

Riot, stop being fuck ups and start giving a shit about your playerbase instead of just your high tiers and pro play. Enforce your damn rules and stop allowing smurfing and stupid shit to throw the game and your 'match making' system out of whack. Actually focus on balancing the game overall, not champs because you get off on High mobility High burst High CC shit shows. It's not a whole lot to ask, seriously. You've kinda done it in the past...just...damn. It's not hard, Caster > DPS > Tank > Assassin > Caster (more or less, obviously it's not quite THAT simple, but you get the point.) Enough with Burst/CC > Gameplay, it's not fun.

When every other thread on the board for years is from some noobshit top laner crying about how he never wins because of jungle ganks and being camped. We get this. This is exactly what the community wanted. Apparently warding and tracking the enemy jungler is too much work so they cried until Riot gave them what they wanted.

Patch needs to be reverted... Items... Drakes... Exp... I agree... Fuck this patch... Easy way to actually for once make people quit...

100% agree with you, i played urgot top few last games and i can tell no matter what im doing on lane phase if my bot is potato i gonna lose like for 80%. Mele top is atm worst choice... someone can tell darius is strong garen is strong but so what when cassio ryze can eate them for dinner with no hp lost. I do not need this Xp change i need to stop mages or range abuse on top. Why riot nerf garen so fast after he dominate bot and cant deeal with mage top? What happend when mage abuse bot last seson and adc crying so hardly? They fix problem why they cant fix it for top is just fucking stupid

Couldnt have said it better my self. Season 10 changes are a placebo really...

"Hey guys look we changed some stuff" trying to entice the already thousands of people who left last season to reinstall and play again.

Only then to be hit with the "change your username" but riot is going to keep your old username in their spreadsheets to boost their account numbers so later this year they can talk about how the player base is still growing....

Legit shady business man tactics same as intel this year with processors...

But you won't since LoL is like heroin ;)

It feels like 80% of the games are 16 vs 4 at 15 minutes

RavenMagus11/29/2019, 2:32:08 PM2 votes

I'm actually mostly okay with the jungle exp changes. The junglers in my games are still meaningful, but I'm not getting ganked by a lv 3 Lee Sin when I'm just barely reaching lv 2 in midlane now, so that's nice.

I would like to see Riot stop it with this ridiculous high damage burst meta. Getting hit with any CC move at all in the game is instant death right now. Unfortunately we're moving into year 3 of super burst meta so I think it's unlikely to change now.

I feel your thesis statement, I've felt like that a few times, and I've been around a long time too. I'm willing to wait a bit and see what happens by Jan.-Feb. before jumping ship completely, but it could actually be time to hang it up for me if something doesn't give. Riot wont really care if I leave because I'm not a whale, but it would suck for me with all the time I've put in over the years, and general enjoyment I've gotten out of the game. I rarely ever play anything buy Co-op vs. AI anymore, but I enjoy the theory crafting aspects of the game as well. I'm not getting that as much these days.

Jennifer1711/28/2019, 2:05:00 PM2 votes

just wait until they actually change champs for the pre season. this is going to be fun.

Malix Farwin11/28/2019, 4:46:59 PM2 votes

it was like that in season 4 though, i am confused as to how this is any different.

ImGoingScotty11/29/2019, 8:22:04 AM2 votes

tl;dr but I quit with the runemastery thing.. eventually came back but hate the fact that i can't do my hybrid support poke anymore.. it was amazing running hybrid pen runes on someone like sona and just poking the enemy out of lane.

Literal IRL Tree11/28/2019, 2:02:52 PM1 votes

Pretty sure the exp changes you are listing are just wrong aside from the jg one. Its like 1 caster minion of exp every 5 waves. Also you have to take into account the jg xp nerfs also have the 30 second reduction to the respawn time so overall you have to choose between jungling or repeat ganking instead of gank->gank->gank->catch exp to not be behind after clearing 3 camps ->gank->gank

Tomoe Gozen11/28/2019, 3:40:13 PM1 votes

Yea OP, it's like you haven't played previous seasons at all. As if solo laners (or jungler, mid laner, marksman and support) were never ahead of levels if they were winning their lanes and had like 5 kills up to a certain point. 5% (or 6% for the jungle) more solo lane EXP is not 4-5 levels ahead at any point in time, from raw farming. It makes a difference, not that much difference.

Jungle being left behind by a small margin makes it so that they don't start turning the game around from their first gank, due to their raw power. Duo lanes don't get ahead of solo lanes that easily and they technically can't just start murdering people with one and a half item power spike, after their laning is essentially over (destroyed enemy turret and rotating to a different lane for the pressure).
