Abilities

Passive: Archon's Might

Archon's Might: Using Kival's abilities on Champions grants Kival stacks (depending on how many champions were struck by the ability, maximum of 3 per ability) of "Archon's Might". Kival's skills gain extra capabilities depending on how many stacks of "Archon's Might" he has gained. He can gather a maximum of 300 stacks. 50 Stacks: Kival's Q refunds 10% of it's mana cost for each Champion struck by it. Only counts for one of the two slashes, hitting with both does not restore additional mana. 100 Stacks: Kival's W now adds an additional 0.2 damage scaling based on the number of stacks "Archon's Might" has. 150 Stacks: The dash distance of Kival's E is extended. 200 Stacks: Kival's R deals an additional 100 physical damage for every 100 stacks of "Archon's Might".

Q: Double Slash Active: Kival slashes in a "one-two" fashion with his two swords, damaging all units struck. The short sword is the first slash, and has reduced range, but a wide arc, while the second with his broad-sword is a thin hit-box, over-head slash that deals increased damage.

W: Crippler Toss Passive: Successfully hitting an enemy champion with this ability marks them for 4 seconds with "Ravaging Steel", which causes Kival to prioritize the marked champion when using his Q or E. Hitting them with either of the aforementioned skills before the de-buff wears off causes it to deal 30% increased damage. Active: Kival throws his short-sword in the target direction, (it is a skill-shot, not a guaranteed hit) and it stops at the first enemy champion it comes in contact with, dealing damage and slowing them (the strength of the slow lessens over time) for 3 seconds.

E: Steel Sympathy Active: Kival stabs in the target direction with his broad-sword, dashing a moderate distance, damaging units in his path. He stops at the first Champion he runs into, but does not stop when hitting minions or monsters.

R: Bulwark Breaker Active: Kival leaps into the air and stabs his broad-sword into the ground. In a large circle around him, ethereal swords stab out of the ground all at once, greatly damaging all units in their radius.

Lore

Lore: Kival is a master of blade-work, referred to by many as the "Archon of Steel". His skill with his sword cannot be denied, and those that have dueled him (and survived) have attested that he is worthy of his title. Hailing from the City of Piltover, Kival did not share the same academic and/or scientific interests of his fellows. He was drawn more to the swords and sorcery still used in the other nations of Valoran and Runeterra the world over, as well as having great interest in any tales told of ancient weaponry or skills along those lines. He wanted to find something to show to those back in Piltover that such ideals and weaponry still had a place in their troubled city. He traveled much, learning all he could in the places he went to, but no particular tale or story stood out to him or piqued his curiosity. That is, until he learned of a tale told by the people of the Tempest Flats, that in the Sablestone Mountains, there was a sword wielded by a great warrior known as the "Archon of Steel". He supposedly left his weapon inside a temple or shrine of some kind hidden among its many peaks. It was said that the weapon would accept any that conquered the dangers of the mountains, granting them the same skill as the original wielder. Many adventurers and some of the people among the Tempest Flats had attempted to find it, but none ever returned. Due to this, many dismissed it as a tale and nothing more, with few ever trying to go after it nowadays. But Kival became determined to find the weapon and prove the tale was true. So he traveled to the Sablestone Mountains, and began to search for this temple or shrine. The dangers were many, and Kival's guide attempted to desert him more than once due to his refusal to give up the search. But, after what seemed an eternity to Kival, they found a shrine that resembled the one told in the tales. They entered, and found the weapon sitting on a pedestal at the base of a huge statue of the original warrior. On the pedestal sat a stone slab, presumably the decree of the original wielder.

The stone slab read, "Ye who seek to wield my weapon's might, lay your hand upon it in my sight. If I find you worthy in this plight, then shall you gain the knowledge and the right." With a calm mind, Kival grasped the hilt of the weapon firmly. The instant he did, a cold wind ran through the shrine, blowing out the candles that illuminated it. A moment later, a bright light shone from the blade of the sword, somehow reigniting the candles, as well as a huge fire pit in the center of the room. Kival's eyes took the same golden sheen, and he felt decades of knowledge and experience with the weapon being poured into his mind. The moment the integration of knowledge ended, Kival was able to pull the weapon from the pedestal as though it were as light as a feather. Then what happened next surprised both Kival and his guide; the statue began to move! Drawing it's blade, it seemed intent on giving Kival a "trial-by-fire" with the weapon now that he had removed it from the pedestal. With no time to think, but with all the knowledge of his newly-acquired blade, Kival brandished the sword without fear against his foe. Kival's guide fled in terror, thinking that the statue had failed Kival in the test and planned to slay him for attempting such a lofty goal. The two battled fiercely, wrecking the shrine and its adornments in the process. But after some time, Kival smote off the head of his assailant, the blade cutting through the stone like it was no more than paper. Defeated, the statue kneeled in respect to Kival, and then the shrine began to quake. Kival escaped the crumbling shrine (but not before grabbing his guide's abandoned short sword), and his guide was nowhere to be seen. But that did not matter. He had accomplished his goal, and could now return to Piltover a success.

"It will take time for me to come to terms with the knowledge that has been implanted in my mind, but regardless, I am now the new Archon of Steel."

Quotes

Selection The Archon enters the fray!

Upon match start-up Worthy opponents await, I hope. What tales are told here, I wonder? Time to see what I can do.

On Twisted Tree-line I don't like the looks of this place.

On Howling Abyss _Sheesh, should have brought a coat or something! _

Gaining 50 stacks of "Archon's Might" My skill improves.

Gaining 100 stacks of "Archon's Might" Yet further I grow.

Gaining 150 stacks of "Archon's Might" Only a little more to go...

Gaining 200 stacks of "Archon's Might" I am the Archon of Steel!

Movement _I bear this title proudly. The weapon has accepted me. Forward with might. My skill will grow. Time will release my power. The Archon is here. Do not underestimate me. With Boldness. Our past is just as important as our future. Learn from the past, and be prepared for the future. Legends can inspire us. Still getting used to this... _

Attacking Cross blades with me, if you dare. I accept their challenge. Can you stand against an Archon? Eager to perish, I see. You're vastly outclassed. I hope you are strong. You re definitely a goner. Defy me and taste steel. You want the broad-sword, or the short sword cutting you? Not your lucky day. You asked for it. Let's hope they're worth my while.

Using Double Slash (Various Grunts) (Alternate Grunts) Move Aside! Ha... Yah!

Using Crippler Toss Ah, ah ah... no running now. Going Somewhere? Catch!

Using Steel Sympathy Gouge! Impale and fall! Hah! (Bold Shout)

Using Bulwark Breaker Shatter! With all my might! Your fall is at hand!

Joke Kival sets the hand-guard of his sword along his finger, and starts twirling it around, but it eventually falls off and he flinches, hoping it won't cut him as it lands on the ground nearby. He walks over and picks it up. _They say "Archon" means "Lord", I rather like the sound of that- Oops! No dents, right? I know I make it look easy, but being the inheritor of such a great title is- ACK! A little overwhelming. I'll prove myself worthy of this title, and I'll- Whoops! I've got to stop doing that. _

Taunt Kival flings his sword into the air (somewhat similar in how Olaf throws his axes in the air when he laughs) and catches it by the hilt and holds it straight forward, before returning to his normal pose. I'll show you why I'm called the "Archon of Steel". This weapon certainly wouldn't have accepted you, that's for sure. Jealous? Don't worry, everyone else is too.

Joking near an allied CaitlynCaitlyn Hey Sheriff, maybe if you let some magic-users in the force, they could help you out. Nothing wrong with what you got, but more could certainly help. You and Vi have been chasing that blue-haired girl for how long now? I've lost track.

Joking near an allied JayceJayce The future of Piltover's more than just fancy tech-hammers, Jayce. Maybe if you looked more to the past, you'd learn more for the future. So, can you do anything else than jump really high with that thing?

Joking near an allied ViVi To the Archon of Steel, those gloves are nothing more than mittens. How'd you fit that cup of tea inside those things? I'd help with that blue-haired nutcase, but I'm a busy man.

Taunting near an enemy JinxJinx I may not live in Piltover anymore, but I didn't like the 'makeover' you gave it. Girl, I'm gonna slice that rocket launcher to ribbons. So stop talking to it! Maybe a taste of cold steel will clear your unhinged mind.

Taunting near an enemy EkkoEkko Time's not on your side, Ekko. It's time for some discipline, brat. Whatever timeline you're in, it's not one where you beat me.

Taunting near an enemy ViktorViktor I hope it won't hurt when I slice off that third arm, Viktor. That's a nice back scratcher you installed on yourself. Steel's meant to be on the outside, not the other way around, you nutjob.

Dance Kival stabs his sword into the ground and starts doing the Charleston dance.

Laugh Kival laughs.

Death Kival falls to his knees as he drops his sword to the ground. He looks at his open palm, then clenches it into a fist and stays still for a moment before he falls over on his face. The Archon... will return... (Various Groans) My might has failed me... Got to... keep going...

5/18/2016: Massively simplified his passive, and altered some of his abilities.

Ok I only got three suggestions, first off try to input some damage numbers, if you can't think of what to put look up other champion stats and add cooldowns and such, second simplify the passive a little better cuz that passive is a lot to take in and kinda confusing, lastly divide up categories so it's easier to read and bold your labels like your abilities and lore. To do that just put 2 stars on both sides of the word and 4 stars in between your catagories like so Test

Passive is disgustingly broken against champions who do not stack nothing but armor, and rather too strong on those that do. Make it scale WAY less hard as the game goes on, and the champion will seem pretty alright.

Overall, nothing too adventurous in the kit (other than the scaling mechanic which reminds me of cassiopeia), but nothing else that screams "overpowered".

the idea of a champion from piltover who was drawn to a more knightly concept has a lot of promise, but as the champion stands i feel like the whole piltover part is little more than a flavor text rather than really showing up in the champion. That's probably your intention, but i still feel like there's so much that could be done in regards to the concept of a "steampunk knight"
