Forgotten Talk of Skin Auctioning/Exchange (LONG read, but let me know what you think)
Anyone else remember back in the day when you didn't play a certain champ, and didn't buy their skins because you just didn't like them, and now you happen to play them constantly and want to own all the skins but can't. There are a few skins people i'm sure would pay a lot of money for, and also a lot of accounts that have these skins, and have been inactive for years (black alistar, rusty blitzcrank, ufo corki, urfwarwick, PAX skins, Silver Kayle, Championship Riven, Human Ryze) and so on and so forth, and these skins most likely will never be back, and those skins on those abandoned accounts will never be used.
Now there was at one point kind of an uproar in forums about starting some sort of skin auctioning system that seemed like it had just to many problems. People wanting to hack other peoples accounts, riot not making money on skins say in store they're going for 520RP but in the auction going for 200RP as an example. But I thought of a way that this idea could possibly work, and riot could even make money of the idea itself.

First thing that would have to happen is that the skins being put into the market place, would have to have a percentage of sale go to riot, one for them to make a profit and two to make sure they are not losing money on a skin they sell for a certain price, and having someone else buy it cheaper hence leaving them ripped off. For example selling a skin for 200RP and you have a riot fee of 2% of the sale, or some percentage to make sure the skin gets transferred properly leaving riot a little money for themselves and also being able to be the middle man to minimize the chance of players getting screwed over when buying a skin.

They would also need to make a minimum limit on how much the skins sell for. Face it, they would want to make money on this too like any good business, and almost treating this "skin exchange" as a stock market they don't want to end up seeing people not buying skins in their store, and instead buying them in the market for cheap, and losing money on the skin that someone could've bought for more money.

Now, where riot could really make there money here is abandoned accounts. After I believe 3-5 years of inactivity from what I understand riot can shut down the account, and wipe the username clean and everything involved with the account, and that is their right to do so I THINK after a certain amount of time. So, what they could do instead of just taking accounts and dragging them to the Recycle Bin, why not put the codes of the skins from these accounts into the skin market, and make money off of them. Obviously this point i'm sure is a lot more complex then how easy I am making sound, but it's again, just an idea.
Like I said, this is just a thought, and I have no idea what riot can or can't do, and even is this will get looked at, but just as a player, who hasn't played the game since its release, there are some skins I wish I could have that I am almost certain are gone forever. My skin exchange idea isn't perfect by any means, but it really got me thinking about the possibilities of how awesome it would be to buy some RP and be able to buy, KING RAMMUS for instance, Tell me what you guys think below, if it's stupid let me know, if you like it let me know. And also any suggestions would be awesome as well!!
Thanks, Zachigg
