I am going to Japan for 2 weeks and was wondering if I will be able to play while there

You will be able to log and play, but with 120-200 ping.

Effectively you cannot play while traveling internationally. There are systems in place to transfer your account to a new region's servers, but they are costly and not worth it for travel.

Edit: Japan uses NA servers I believe, so you still can.
