Galio is suppose to be magic absorbing big ass tank... which kinda fails to do what hes made to do in lore. yes he is great as a champ, but nothing in his skill set is "amazing". yes the dmg reduction from W is cool, but its not really absorbing. and the magic shield is just meh... old kassadin passive makes more sense in terms of "nullifying enemies magic".
Do you have an alternate to propose that's more like "absorbing"? Maybe pass through skill shots are treated like colliding skillshots against him, so he can body block magic damage like Ekko or Ahri's Qs for his team? Maybe if the enemy lays a big AoE like MF's Make it Rain he'll take bonus damage while his allies take no damage if both of them are standing in the AoE field?
That's the only "absorbing" concept I can think of unless you just want his old W back.
