An XP bar for your Honor

So one thing about the honor system this season is that because of how much theyve slowed down the honor gain, it can be difficult to tell if you are even actively gaining honor. Ive been stuck on the last checkpoint of tier 2 for like a month now and its really kinda frustrating to not know if im even making progress. So I was thinking what if we had an XP bar kinda thing for Honor, that showed at least if you were gaining honor or not. I mean, I understand that Honor gain might not be linear, but some kind of representation of consistent honor growth (so you know you arent losing honor for some reason or something) would be nice. For me at least its kinda like back when we didnt have the loading swirly when loading into games, you would just sit there, fretting about whether you were really loading or not... wondering if something had gone wrong... and its kinda nerve-wracking.

I was hoping to get some input from you guys if anyone else feels the same way

I think I remember Riot saying that they didn't want us to be focused on an honor bar, instead wanted people to be nice for the sake of it. I guess it kind of takes away from the definition of the word honor if you're doing it to see when you get the next reward. Not my opinion, just a guess.

I 100% agree, I haven't gotten a single checkpoint in the last 3 months, and I wanna die cause of it. Riot save me from suicide and grant this persons wish.

Yeap I'd love to know if I'm even gaining honor. I've been stuck in the shitter honor 2 pt 3 the entire season and I'm just going to stop honoring folks since the little children don't EVER honor me back.

Alright, here's my two sense, I like to be nice so I do my best to be anyway, but I also like to know how close I am to a new border flair, if anything you'd make it even easier for me! The border flairs are preeeeeetty, and I love to count progress, it drives me insane when I don't know when I'll hit the next checkpoint. [sg-janna]

I disagree with this statement, not because it's a bad idea, but Sir D Wreck's post explains why we shouldn't have an XP bar. You shouldn't be focused on honor. It's just a nice thing to have. At most, I would like to know if I have gained or lost honor daily but not an xp bar.

I can completely understand slowing the honor system, something that was suppose to take a season of good behavior took a little more than a month for those who are clearly advanced AI since no human can be that nice in this cesspool.

In an Ask Riot from 8 months ago, it was explained that you getting honor is supposed to stretch the whole season. So progress is very often going to seem slow. They also said at a different point and summed it up in their FAQ that you progress faster if you're being honored a lot. So going out of your way to be the friendly one in chat or to sit tight and quiet while everyone else flames will push you forward faster.

I actually really like the idea, but that could encourage honor begging/farming if you saw your progression continuously vs ambiguous chunks. I do actually agree, it’s just a consequence that would likely occure that really should be talked about in tandem with this idea.

I guess in response to what some of you are saying about not wanting a bar cuz itll make people do honorable things for rewards.... does it really matter why people are nice people as long as they keep doing it?

Here's the opinion of a guy who made a couple mistakes and got stuck in honor 0... (don't worry y'all, I've reformed.)

This sounds like a REALLY bad idea for people like me. Not getting any keys is tilting enough when you have to watch those chests pile up, and sometimes, when I just had a bad game and I'm looking at it in my match history, having to look at the crappy little broken circle on my profile only makes things worse.

Ultimately, I feel like people who are tilted because of this are more likely to make more stupid mistakes and get set further back in honor! Honor hell is a lot worse than ELO hell.

Having an XP bar would be very annoying for someone low level. It would be so tilting to see how painfully slow that bar fills, making you drop honor further. I think that Riot din't put in an XP bar for honor for these reasons, and I'm thankful. I don't WANT to think about how close (or far) I am from honor 1, as that will only make me tilt harder.

This was proposed and upvoted to hell and back when honor first came out, and Riot flat out said no, they won't do it because "reasons" (sarcasm on that last part, they did list the reasons but they were asinine).

i'm still honor2 checkpoint0 and i dont even know if i've gained fuckin' honor even though i've been honored a hundred and some times over. problem is that people last seas who got to h3 through h5 got a headstart and i was h2 at the end of the season.

Yea i am tired of getting messages like you have been getting 24% more honors good job but still stuck at level 3 checkpoint since the start of the season

Please show some sort of honor progress. :( I have been stuck at honor 2, checkpoint 3 ever since the new season started. I have had friends who got honor 3, fallen to honor 1, and gotten back to my standing in honor 2 already.
