Dr. Mundo Left Out?

I see lots of people playing riven, Darius, rammus, and other sort of tanks going up on top. But usually i never EVER see mundo. So i thought "Why not give him a shot" so i ended up purchasing him (Im not waiting for free Week). I found him very strong at early game of his Q poke. His Q has only a 3 second cool down and all of his ability's are really short on cool down too. This is why i wonder nobody plays him, i dominated rammus and riven. Why not give him a shot for yourself?

He was my go to champ last season for top and jung. I love mundo but it looks like tanks are taking a pretty big hit this season, and they were hit pretty hard last season.

I haven't played enough this season to be sure how well a tank can work in the current meta I'm thinking riot is killing them slowly to speed up games and make LCS faster paced to be more exciting.
