2 Lore: Fable is a powerful and magic resident of Runeterra. Tales tell that she once was a little girl in a demacian village before some event happened which changed her life forever. She appears only for the help of those with a pure heart. And her appearance is every time different based on the personality of those searching for help. But most of the time when she appears, she either wears a book or a shield. No one know where she lives. Some say she lives within the tales which are told to the children of Runeterra and that those tales possess bigger mysteries and powers than many believe. Those few say also that only tiny, magic creatures are able to find the true meaning of tales.

The worthy one

It was a long and hard day. And again another day came to an end without me getting closer to my destination. It felt like I already have travelled through whole Demacia thousands of times only to see the finish line of my journey never getting closer. But I never would have given up aslong as I needed to end my mission. I put my camp up there between those trees and covered through the undergrowth for the night. Maybe the lumberjack, who I heard speaking today, was right and in the village seven miles away was a brave man, who could be worthy to carry this weapon.

It was midnight when something woke ne up. It was a loud noise. I followed the direction the noise came from and it lead me to a glade deep into the forest. There was a woman fighting against four bandits and a man laying with grievous wounds on the ground. I hurried to help her but it seemed like she didn't need any. She threw her giant shield against the head of a bandit and jumped like a lightning after the shield. Right after she caught it, she pushed with it the three other bandits who tripped over their own feet and ran away.

Is she the worthy one? The one I searched for so long? I approached her, but from one moment to another she suddenly disappeared without me having the chance to speak to her. I stood a moment there until I realized that there still was a wounded man who needed help. I rushed to him and helped him. I brought him to the next village where he got help while I tried to sleep with all those thoughts and questions in my head.

3 Appearance:

Both forms: She looks like a young, human woman.

Wisdom of tales: She has a book in her hands and a shield hangs around her belly. She has an old, brown backpack.

Force of tales: She wears with both hands a shield and a book hangs on her belt. She wears light armor.

4 Abilities:

Passive (Shapeshifter): Fable can choose between the forms "Wisdom of Tales" or "Force of Tales". She can buy "Book of Legends" for 500 gold in the shop. If she uses the item then she channels for 3 seconds to transform her in the other form. If she has a full inventory then she transforms herself instant, by buying the item, into the other form. She can only have one "Book of Legends" in her inventory at the same time. Shapeshifter has a cooldown of 1 minute.

Both forms have their own base stats.

**Only the stats from items/runes/masteries get transformed, if she transform back then she gets the ability power or health points/magic resistance/armor of the items back. Her base stats simply switch by changing the form. She chooses a key form at the beginning. If her key form is "Wisdom of tales", then she only transform her stats (items/etc.) by swapping into "Force of Tales". If she transform back, then she only reverts her stats how they were before/ would have been if she leveled up. This apply as well the other way around. **

If Fable changes from "Wisdom of Tales" into "Force of Tales", then she transforms 50% of her total ability power into magic resistance and armor (it is splitted equally between armor and magic resistance). If she transform from "Force of Tales" into "Wisdom of Tales, then she transforms 25% of her health points and 40% of her armor and 70% of her magic resistance into ability power.

Wisdom of Tales (First form)

Q:

Wisdom distributor: Throws a book on the ground (500-1000 units). Books are for 2 minutes invulnerable and lasts for 4 minutes and there is a maximum of 5 books which can lay around at the same time. Deals 10/15/20/25/30 (+0.8 total ad) amount of physical and 40/50/60/70/80 (+0.4 ap) amount of magic damage, if enemies were in the flight path.

Passive: Books (1500 units) deal within 5 seconds 60 (+0.3 ap) amount of magic damage (12 +0.06 ap every second) too near enemies (500 units) after she used any spell. (isn´t activated in tower range)

  • 14/12/10/8/6s cooldown
  • 40/42.5/45/47.5/50 mana cost

W:

Storyteller: She opens a book in the direction of the mouse cursor. Then she shoots a magical skillshot. The first enemy hit get stunned and all enemies behind get slowed. It also deals 60/70/80/90/100 (+0.5 ap) amount of magic damage.

Passive: If enemies get a level up near a book (250 units), then she permanently gains 10% of the health points which the enemy got per level as ability power (she doesn´t steal the health points of the enemy). It caps at 200 permanently gained ability power. It´s rated as base stat, so it won`t get transformed.

  • 16/14.5/13/11.5/10s cooldown
  • 40/50/60/65/70 mana cost

E:

Traveler: She enchants the books and can teleport within 3 seconds too any book she wants (1500 units) by right/left clicking on it (1.5 - 1 second(s) channel time -> dependent on the distance; she can still move, while channeling, but can´t use any other spells). By doing so she let her book, which she is currently holding, fall. The book, which she teleported too, teleports in her hands. Allies can click for 5 seconds after she teleported on the book, which was left behind, to teleport too her. They are teleported behind her (like tp).

Instead of clicking on a book she can reactivate the ability within 3 seconds. All enemies (1000 units) who were near a book (250 units) get teleported too her. And come out of her book landing in front of her (if she looks toward her base, then she turns around because she hardly can control the book -> enemies land nearer too their base). The channel time is 2 seconds long this time. Teleported enemies get 30/40/50/60/70 (+0.4 ap) amount of magic damage.

  • 23/21/19/17/15s cooldown
  • 40/55/70/85/85 mana cost

R:

Power of tales: She enchants again all books and creates duplicates of them. All books teleport too her and circulate/fly 150-750 units around her (the range depends on the amount of books which layed around; 1 original and 1 duplicate for every "orbit") for 5 seconds. Every book deals 50 (+0.09) amount of magic damage per hit (2 possible hits in an "orbit", if you stand motionless) and knocks enemies in the direction they collided with each other by hitting them (enemies can only be knocked in a direction every 1.25 seconds). After 5 seconds the original books fall down and the duplicates disappear.

  • 150/125/100s cooldown
  • 100 mana cost

Force of Tales (Second form)

Q:

Sturdy: She pushes with her shield all enemies in front of her back and deals 60/70/80/90/100 (+0.1 maximum hp) amount of physical damage.

  • 12/11/10/9/8s cooldown
  • 40/45/50/55/60 mana cost

W:

Distributor: Channels to throw her shield in one direction (800 units). The shield deals 50/65/80/95/110 (+1.0 armor) amount of physical damage and stuns the enemy at maximum range. She can activate this ability again to jump too the position of her shield (if she doesn´t jump, then the shield teleports back too her; she can´t autoattack or use her Q without her shield).

  • 16/15/14/13/12s cooldown
  • 40/50/60/65/70 mana cost

E:

** Protector of fantasy**: Fable connects herself with an ally to absorb 5%/10%/15%/20%/25% of the taken damage from this ally. If she cast the spell on herself, then she gets a shield which is 10% of her maximum health points strong.

  • 10/9/8/7/6s cooldown
  • 35/40/45/50/55 mana cost

R:

Rescue: She can teleport too an ally who has the buff "Fairy Tales Children" not on cooldown (2500-5000 units). She teleports within 2 seconds in front of the ally and everyone can see a silhouette on the point where she will teleport too. The silhouette gets brighter/stronger in the time she needs to teleport. The buff on this ally is set on a 2 minute cooldown after teleporting too him/her/it. Teleporting too an ally gives her/him/it also a magic resistance buff for 3 seconds for 40% of your magic resistance (Fable doesn´t lose a part of her magic resistance for that time).

Passive: Grants her allies the buff "Fairy Tales Children". She gains 5% damage reduction for every ally with an active "Tale Children" buff near (800 units) her or 2.5% damage reduction for allies with the buff on cooldown.

  • 80/65/50s cooldown
  • 60 mana cost

Interesting idea however I fail to see the benefit gained by having two separate champions (Unable to change forms) in one, aside from drafting strategy. I do like the idea of a storyteller champion though and the amount of work invested in this is quite something, the teleport mechanic feels like it could do a little more exploration and developing.

If your either one or the other, why not seperate them as different champions? Like Darius or Draven. the concern would be if one passive and abilities set was stronger than the other, no one would pick the other passive. balance would be difficult i assume later down the line.

There is probably another way to properly design a character like this, but as it is, it's a story in itself.

Currently, for me, reading both abilities is confusing and hard to imagine the synergies and gameplay.

I like the concept and idea, just not sure with the dual passive and abilities, structure should be changed if you wish to continue.

can't offer much cause the Passive and Q, were enough to confuse me.

Adjusted/ changed her a bit today. Wisdom of tales: -She can´t heal her allies with her W anymore. -Instead of checking if there is an enemy (stunned through her W) and teleport the enemy, it can now be reactivated so all enemies near a book get teleported. -Doesn´t get a shield (which could break through hard cc) anymore by doing damage too enemies with her ult. Force of tales: -Changed her E from summoning 4 protectors who take a bit of the damage and didn´t let anyone near her too a connection with her ally which let her absorb the damage the ally would have taken or a shield if she casts it on herself. Lore: -Corrected some mistakes in the short story.
