Torren; The Vanguard of the Waves

Role: Marksman/Off-Tank

Inspiration: Idea of a resource dynamically linked to portable locations, and to create a character that forces the summoner to manage themselves spacially.

What Makes Him Unique: Besides being a very bulky ranged champion, he is also unique because of a new resource called Aqua. Because Torren is reliant on water for all of his abilities, he has a tank/device on his back that withdraws moisture from surrounding air into a usable form. Sources of water are moist locations, his resource refills quickly by merely stepping into tidal zones of his own creation and within these areas, he is only limited by cooldowns. On top of that, he has a purchasable trinket that will augment his movement speed within the river.

Design: Shark-man hybrid species with water tank on back that pumps as moisture is collected, and hooked up to a super-soaker-like rifle that fires water blasts. Pic is my own btw.

Lore: In the deep waters of the Guardian's Sea, there lay an undersea town surrounding a vast market that served as crossroads for a countless number of sea-dwelling species. For centuries the crossroads enjoyed peace from the protection of a clan of the shark-like Sharai race. One bleak night, an unseen bandit stole an infant Marai from it's crib, and left a scale of the Sharai in its place. When this evidence was discovered, hordes of citizens demanded an answer from the Sharai. The clan leader, Torren, denied any clan involvement and declared an investigation, but as more of the town's infants started disappearing, the community dissolved into chaos. War erupted as emotions raged over the losses of their young, and famine followed. As leader of the clan, and for the protection of his people, Torren decided to take the blame and punishment; to be banished from the seas forever. Slowly and tenderly his dorsal fin was sliced off his back, and a great Marai mage incurred words over the flesh to invoke a curse so that while his fin remained underwater, he would never be allowed to return to the seas. Fading back in and out of conciousness while dying, he was found on the shores of Bilgewater by the assistant of a talented hydraulic engineer. Regaining consiousness, he discovered that he was in the engineers research institute and his wounds had been treated. Torren shared his story with them and then found within himself a dream of becoming stronger in the hopes that he could return the kindness shown to him and protect all land-dwellers across Runeterra. The engineer was moved so much that he showed Torren his most secretive project; a rifle firing condensed, pressurized water, that could be connected to a high-powered dehumidifying tank. Strapping this tank to his (now barren) back, and clutching the rifle in his palm, he was ready to take on a new challenge: The League of Legends.

Positives: Able to easily provide tank support for objectives, can quickly traverse map via river, able to refill resource quickly.

Negatives: Relatively slow movement speed on land. Weak basic attacks.

Need help/advice with set, so far

http://wow.mmorpg-life.com/icons/inv_drink_20.jpg Passive: Aqua: Torren's resource bar is Aqua (max 100), which can be gained by standing in a Tidal Zone (his E). For every 10 Aqua he has, he gains bonus 0.5% of max health regen.

http://i22.servimg.com/u/f22/16/42/87/97/inv_el10.jpg Q: Bubble Burster: Torren fires a large, but slower moving bubble from his gun in a target direction for 800 units. The first unit hit is suspended (a la Nami bubble) for 1 second, and dealt damage. The bubble continues to travel until the end of its range, dealing the same damage to every unit hit. Costs 20 Aqua

http://i1.17173.itc.cn/2010/ctm/2010/12/11/20101211115016650.jpg W: High Pressure: Torren can toggle between his normal autoattacks or an empowered autoattack (deals damage based on Torren's Max Hp and AD) at a cost of 5 Aqua per attack.

http://cdn.warcraftpets.com/images/wow64/icons/spell/shaman/tidalwaves.v7337.png E: Tidal Zone: Torren lays down a Tidal Zone in a skill shot (a la Galio's E). The Zone lasts for 6/8/10/12/14 seconds, and Torren recovers 20 Aqua per second and gains 25/30/35/40/50% movement speed in the Zone. Costs no Aqua, but kinda long CD.

http://worldofwarcraft.judgehype.com/dbcata/images/icones-live/ability_mount_netherdrakepurple.jpg **R: ** Spirit of the Sharai: Torren lays down a massive Tidal Pool in an AOE circle around him (think Amumu ult, but a little bigger), granting the same effects as a Tidal Zone, plus bonus attack damage, life steal, and slowing any enemies by 15/25/35% who enter the Pool. His sharkskin is also strengthened, each melee attack on him deals randomly between 0.5-2% damage of enemy's max health. Costs no Aqua, but long CD.

Jokes: "That's what I call high quality H2O!", and "Let me know if you see any tornadoes". (brownie points if you guess the references)

Also the name can either come from the word "torrent" minus the second T meaning a gush of water, or as a bastardization of the pronounciation of the word "torn" because he was essentially sharkfinned.

I see what you did there, Sharknado. One suggestion make sure you pay homage to the fact that he a shark, not just the fact that he has a water blaster. Could use some work otherwise a good start
